Animal friends challenge plus cardz4guyz

At Animal friends challenge there is a fish, whales or dolphins challenge.
I've had some 2 crafty chipboard fish in my drawer for quite a while, so I have painted them blue.
One has been used on this thank you card which would work for either male or female.

I'm sending this to friends with whom I stayed recently.
(The dirty mark is on the scanner, not on the card)

My next card is for Cardz4guyz ,where they want a get well card.
I kept it simple and used muted blues and browns.

Li'l red wagon.and cupcake challenge.

At Li'l red wagon they want us to create your own background.

I started by misting with both red and turquoise which gave me a mottleed background. I then made a collage of fabric flower, glittery silhouette, buttons, pictures all on a theme.
I punched the oval and put personailty plus as my sentiment.
This is a birthday card for my cousin.

At Cupcake Inspirations they have asked for blue, yellow and white.

I've chosen a bee themed card for this challenge.

Sketches in Thyme

My next layout is for Sketches in Thyme where this is the sketch.

I'm starting on photos from a recent week away to Forster NSW. While I was there we saw the pelicans along the shore, in fact they have taken over one jetty.
I named my layout Pelly spot as it seems to be where they congregate.
Here's the layout.

A cool effect.

Here's my last layout for this counterfeit kit "Tuxedo".
The background paper Bella Perfect World was so busy, I was a bit afraid of how to use it.
I decided to layer what I had left and it worked. Theres a bone paper, a silver doiley, the paper I made for a forgery with white triangles plus 2 strips of ribbon and the title.
I didn't used much embellishment, just the camera as the alphas are big.

Christopher was dressed for his year 10 formal.

Festive Friday

Ive made a card for Festive Friday
It started out being for another challenge, but changed as I put it together.
The 3 items on this card are pink, green and ribbon or if you like die cuts.

Here's the list we are asked to choose from.
It is being sent to a friend who is in hospital.

Challenge Yourself and CSI

I'm combining this challenge with CSI this morning.

I enjoyed making this layout and have used quite a few things I had laying around.
I found an old Bella striped paper plus another that looked like slices of oranges. Almost covered up with the pennant. I used a textured white paper which has a flocked pattern. I used a drinking straw.
I used jewels (rhinestones). The bottom label is an old Jillybean soup label.
I made a banner using twine and offcuts of an old pattern paper.
I used yellow vellum as my matting square.
My photo is of myself in Capri, which immediately made me think of the lemoncella.

Lasting Memories.

Here's the newest sketch at Lasting Memories..
I'm using more of the same papers I used on yesterday's layout "Cute" and making a double.

I started with a white background to keep the neutrals look.
I then chose brown cardstock as my backround for the grid.
My 2 photos are both portrait and slightly different sizes so I manoevered the strips around to suit them and my title card.
The basic idea is the same just in different positions.
My bottom tag has twine. It was cut off on the scanner. The gingham ribbon top right adds another texture to the look.

Sketches in thyme

One thing about cold rainy weather, you get a lot of scrapping done.
This layout is for sketches in thyme where this is the sketch

As mine is a masculine layout, I went without the flowers. I would have like an axe or log of wood but couldn't find anything suitable.
I'm pleased because there a quite a few smaller scraps on this layout and I finally used all the vellum!
(It is on my mats). I took my colours from the photos so stuck with neutrals.

It is named "cute" because the friend in the photo was pretending he was an early settler standing at the front of his shack. He fitted the bill.

Mojo Monday

I'm using some of the black, grey and white scraps from my kit on this birthday card for a male.

The design is for Mojo Monday

Daring Cardmakers and Tuesday taggers.

Daring cardmakers has a spots and stripes challenge this time.
I've found a couple of small pictures from an old book I owned as a child.
As I'm making small children's cards today, I used one on here.
The spotted section is washi tape.

Next, I have made 2 tags with the theme of sewing for Tuesday Taggers.
They have asked for book paper, so I started with that then misted in purple.
After that dried,  I added various toppings such as buttons, a transparency saying "Made with love" and a few sewing die cuts that came in a packet.
I'm not adding ribbon as these may end up on a card with a brad.

Mystical Scrapbooking Take 5 challenge

A few posts ago I made a layout for Kraft +.
It featured my daughter's final university assignment photos.

This layout I've done is the sketches she used to inspire the costumes.
We were asked to grab
Stencil
ink
paper pad
alphas
flowers.

The theme is Christmas in July, but I didn't have any Christmas photos, so used these instead.(That is permissable)

Simple Create too.

I'm making this card for a friend who is retiring soon from teaching.

It is for Simply create too where the theme is red, white and blue.

The white lace border strip and flower are from my current Counterfeit Kit.

Challenge #1 Counterfeit Kit Challenge

White with one or black with one is our challenge.

used cream as her extra colour. Starting with a white background, I then added dots (see my addition to the Forgeries on the Fourth) and an add on paper from an old encyclopedia. Then I added a lace star. Otherwise, it's all neutrals.

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge.

I'm making an occasional Christmas card this month to start the ball rolling.
This one is for Crafty Hazelnut who asks us to use some red.

I've used 2 scrap strips of red patterned paper plus a card I had that says "December" with a calendar.
My sentiment is on a Jillybean Soup label which I have hand written.

Clean and Simple on Sunday

At CAS on Friday or Clean and Simple on Sunday (?) they have anything but white challenge.

I used Kraft cardstock on this card, plus a big flower stamp. After the ink dried, I painted a few of the petals on each flower with yellow acrylic paint.

It is a bright cheerful card so could be used for a variety of purposes.
                                                    ***********************************
Next, I made a card for Allsorts challenge where we are asked for something starting with B.

I had a birdcage die cut so used that.
I've also added a few small flowers plus my small sentiment which says "All the good things".
It could be a birthday card or again, general wishes card.

Mystical inspiration challenge.

I've chosen this sketch from Pinterest to complete my first layout for Mystical's cyber crop.

The colours are Christmas, but I chose to do a non christmas layout using red and grey, mainly with a smaller touch of green. The photo was taken at a friend's farm and personifies peace to me.
Hence the title "Jackpot".
I layered gingham paper, vellum, doiley, plus double matted. The strips at the bottom also have a farm feel.
I drizzled mist on the background too.

I made a cluster using a flower from my Counterfeit kit. plus small Prima flowers and grey buttons.
The 2 hearts are from my kit also.

Next I added a hat die cut and punched a flower to put on it to look more farm like. It went in top corner. There are also clouds at the top of the layout from my kit.

Now here's my layout. I'm happy with the overall look of this.

Mint fresh

When I was in Canberra last month, my daughter took me to the Royal mint.
There was a machine there where you could print your own $1 coin. It cost $3 LOL.
I printed the coin while my daughter took this series of photos.

I used an American crafts checkered paper plus a silver doiley and a bingo card saying Create.(how appropriate)
My journal card is tucked in top right. Because I had the gold alphas I used those as it is all about metals on here. I added 2 strips of striped wahi tape to finish off.

Thursday 9 July 2020

Fab 'n'funky challenges plus Li'l red wagon.

Fab 'n 'funky challenges wants a male card.

Using elements from my Counterfeit Kit, I constructed this card for an artistic friend who is about to have his first exhibition.
The background cardstock is a forgery on the Fourth.
The next layer is a coaster. I used one of the rectangular stickers as my background for the artist die cuts and my sentiment says "embrace all that is you". I added the stars as a final thought.
Inside I put another die cut featuring a coffee cup as we often have a coffee together.

Next is a sympathy card for Li'l red wagon.
I embossed using swiss dots but reversed it so the dots go inward instead of raised.
I used a thin strip of ribbon as a bow plus a silhouette die cut with no sentiment.

Paper Issues This or that.

I like to complicate matters if I can. LOL
This is the challenge at Paper Issues on facebook.I guess they were thinking 4th of July layout but I had already started this so have an autumn layout now to adapt.

The polka dots are on the black ribbon which was also in my kit and the blue is on the thin blue ribbon bow under the photo, there's a doiley behind my photo. I added a button above the blue bow and a black heart paperclip above the photo..
My background paper is the B side of an embossed paper in my kit.It is an EK success paper named "sticko style." There are the stripes!
Lastly the pom pom which runs across the bottom.

Monday 6 July 2020

Poetic Artistry and Library Challenge.

I've made a card for Poetic Artistry where there is this sketch.

Using my counterfeit kit I layered music paper, vellum, white card and a coaster I had in my kit that I cut to size.
The 2 diecuts were also in my kit as was the sentiment.

I'm also entering this at The Library challenge where the colours are similar to this book and the music staves mirror the stripes.

Sunday 5 July 2020

Kraft plus

My next layout is for Kraft + challenge where we are asked to be inspired by Shakespeare.

I knew straight away what I would do for this.
Erica studied costume design for her degree and her final major project was to design and create costumes for a play. She chose Titania and Oberon from "A midsummer night's dream."
Here are her initial sketches.
She drafted the patterns for the outfits then sewed them for her two models.
She also made the wings from wire and organdie with glittery swirls on them.
For Oberon she made a staff with vines wound around it.
They both had body paint as above which she applied and designed.
She designed their headpieces not visible in the photos but he has vines wound around his hair and she wears a small tiara.(hand made)
They had to be transported in a car to the botanical gardens where they had the photos taken. (Would be interesting to see that). She located a suitable area among ferns etc to take the photos.
This was not a 5 minute process and took months of planning and organising.

For my layout, I wanted to use all 3 photos. I started by painting the background green.
I used a silver doiley and vellum mats to create an "etherial" look. I found a quote about fairies also on vellum which I used on my layout.
The main embellishment is a FWAB vine. There are small words around the 3 photos such as "She shines",  "This moment" plus 2 that describe what Erica went through "Inspire", "Create".
Finally, my gold glittery alphas added to the magic with some sprinkled stars for the magic again.
I hope I've done these photos justice in her eyes.

Scrap Our stash

The July challenge at Scrap Our Stash is to choose a word from the above and scrap it using the letters in that word.

I've chosen FREEDOM.

F=feathers,felt embossed paper,felt clouds
R=ribbon
E=embossed papers (one has felt, one is raised)
E= edge of striped strip under photo is scalloped.
D= ducks, die cut bird
O=old alphas,
M= mats, MME paper strip top left.

There is also vellum as one of the mats plus the journal tag,and 2 floers with brads.

Lasting memories

Lasting Memories has started the month with a 3 photo sketch, see above.

I'm diving into my new Counterfeit kit with this sketch.
I used a grey background with a musical patterned paper. My photos are too big so you can barely see it. The title and tag are one as it suited my theme. (My daughter and I like looking in Antique shops).
In this case we called in for lunch (my sub title).
I doodled some branches behind my flowers and used a gingham ribbon across the bottom.

Embossed explore.

I've made a scrapbooking layout using my kit and done it just for me!
I started by wet embossing the chipboard title.
I inked a few layers then embossed

Next I constructed my layout using 2 main papers plus some scraps.
The neutrals help the blue in the lake to stand out.
The big clock was not in my kit but makes a nice addition I feel.

Hope you like it!

July Counterfeit Kit

July's kit is from Sahin Designs.

Here's the kit

Here's my kit  "Tuxedo"

I started by duplicating the papers as close as I could.

There a some small differences but basically very similar.

I then added another group of papers including an embossed one plus some vellum.
The butterflies and music are incomplete sheets.

Next I gathered my cards in black and white

Then some ribbons , washi tape and lace

So here are all my embellishments together. Small bits of silver and gold in there too.

At the last minute I added these random neutral items that might come in use on cards or layouts.

I've no idea about alphas yet . I will add that as I go along. Probably black or white

Welcome top our guest designer, Jess.
