At time out challenges we are asked to pick two. I've made a card to wish friends a nice summer holiday.
I used sun and ice cream.
At time out challenges we are asked to pick two. I've made a card to wish friends a nice summer holiday.
This time, Little red wagon wants outdoors. Here's my first Christmas card for this year.
Here is the throwback sketch.
I chose a navy paper plus a neutral background with a floral pattern that is subdued.
My photos are bigger, so I used one portrait in full size and 2 cut to a square. They are 3 more view of inside the ship.These were the last 3 I had on my desk to scrap.
I used a tan coloured cotton that matches the walls in the photos and stitched top and bottom. I made the tag featuring the pineapple sticker on the side.Underneath the navy paper I have overlapped 3 stickers featuring leaves and a cool drink.
After doing my journalling, my layout is done.
This is the colour challenge at the Scrap room.
I've decided to scrap a heritage photo.I started with a light green patterned paper then cut a smaller piece of white and purple stripes to put on top. I distressed the edges and used pinecone ink to age it. My next layer was an old dress pattern piece, which I also distressed.
I matted my photo on bottle green
Next, I worked on my title. I found most of my letters except the H and R so had to cover purple letters in yellow paper then cut out the shapes with a knife. Messy business!
I also wiped pinecone ink around the title paper and the H and R so it wasn't so bright. I put 2 strips of darker ribbon across the bottom then added a few neutral tags to the right of the photo. I added a random button I had lurking. I punched a border strip with gold card then wound brown embroidery thread around the punched border. Lastly, I added a couple of staples to hold the torn corners back.
Here is the next sketch for Sketches in Thyme
I used neutral papers for my base layers. There is dressmaking pattern tissue as one of my layers, plus the photo mat.
The flowers are part of the Art Stacks bundle I bought. I thought they match well with the colours on the photo. The 2 crochet shapes are cut from an old doily.
I used the title Happy as I found something to keep me happy in the library on board ship.
F=flowers
U=under layers
N=neutrals
I used offcuts from the previous layout on my card, which could be for a male.
The papers are from Rusty Pickle and the sentiment from Kaisercraft Rosabella.
My sentiment says Life is better with you in it.
I decided to combine the two. I used 2 photos from my cruise matting them on neutral paper. Next, I cut 2 triangles for my corners. After gluing them I added washi tape strips. Next, I put them on the layout and cut chipboard chicken wire to size. I put it through my Xyron.to make it sticky. After adding those to my layout I used pearls and rhinestones plus small hexagons in the chicken wire plus scattered on my layout. My title is in 2 colours silver and copper to ensure I had enough letters. I added a blue star on a toothpick and my short journalling and it is done!
I've made a layout today, the first in a week.
I've also done a couple more junk journal pages.
I recently started a Junk Journal so here are the pages I made with this kit.
I started with a small bag from the donut shop.
After making the last card, I realized I missed the cut off point for that challenge. This is the current one.
I chose to go across the middle row. I used gold cardstock then added a yellow spotted paper. I made another embossed piece of card and added fine pearls. My sentiment says it's the little things that count.
My 85-year-old neighbour (a widow) met a man last year and has now announced her engagement.
I felt I needed to give them a card.
This layout is for sketches in Thyme.
My daughter wanted to find her school reports. I searched the house but couldn't see them.
She looked in the garage and threw out quite a lot while searching (hooray). They were found eventually in a box. I used black as my background with ferns instead of flowers. I added bling to my title to add a bit more colour.
I had 3 photos i took from the top of the ship to scrap.This layout suited that.
I started by doing a purple wash on the background white paper..Then I cut strips from mainly blue papers in my scrap bag. I also added a strip of antique lace. The photos are double matted on card and vellum.
I use stickers from Cocoa vanilla summer fun. Somewhere, I have a lifebuoy, which I will add to bottom left-hand corner when I find it.
I'm finished with Counterfeit kits for the moment so I'm playing catch up with some long awaited projects.
At the moment I'm working on vintage tags using up scraps of paper and shop tags I kept because they were interesting.
During covid and just afterwards I stocked up on new underwear and leisurewear etc and threw out quite a lot. I kept these tags.
Some came with tassels, so I used those too.
While decorating the tags I've opened Pinterest to an appropriate page for inspiration.
This card is for Crafty Animals.
Last card for today. This one is for Li'l red wagon.
They want spring flowers. I've made this card to cheer up a friend. The sentiment says Happy Days because I wish her that. I used a small posy of tulips and tiny white lily of the valley. Very spring I think.
My background is metallic corrugated card
