Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues.

This is the current weeks layout to scraplift.

I started with a grey background then used a shaped paper from MME quite contrary range.
After mounting my koala photo on vellum I added a flourish with a bling swirl and several strips of paper, ribbon and stickers. The tag was already made so as it went with the layout, I added it.

My wood veneer owl is hard to see so I used an arrow to point yo him.
This is a great design for using up scraps.

I'm also entering this in scrapping4fun challenges where anything goes.

Case this sketch.

Case this sketch  has this sketch.

Here's my card. I had the basic idea, but once I added the sentiment, it needed those enamel dots.
It was definitely inspired by the sketch.

Lil red wagon

I had a 6x6 card base but owing to a mistake it became a 6x5 card opening to the right.
I trust that is unusual enough for this challenge.

I used fussy cut orange poppies on this Mothers Day card, using mounting foam to make it 3D.
I'm happy with how it came out.

Paper craft crew challenge & Tic tac toe.

This week it is rustic flowers at Papercraft crew challenge.

I've used the remaining piece from St Tropez by Prima featuring roses and orange flowers on a navy background. I find that rather rustic. I've rolled the edge of the corner and added a large brad.

As I'm currently making Mothers Day cards I made it for a Nan.

**************************************************************************

Also at Tic tac toe challenge here is the grid

I've chosen to go diagonally, so used stripes, a border punch and patterned paper.

Again, it is a mothers day card.

The card concept

The card concept has this picture

I've decided to go for the shabby chic look.
I have used a paler blue as I had 2 tassels I wanted to add on the card.
I fussy cut around a floral bouquet and added Prima flowers which I hand painted pink.

Scrap our stash

April Blend-A-Sketch Cahllenge

At Scrap our stash we are asked to blend these 2 sketches plus use polkadot paper or enamel dots.

I'm starting with the right hand sketch but incorporating some elements from the left such as the flags, and the cloud/journaling on top right. My large brad is placed between the bottom edges of the 2 photos similar to the butterfly on the left hand sketch. I also have a small word above the title same as the LH sketch.
My enamel dots are enamel triangles from freckled fawn.
I'm not keen on the black alphas but I bought them so will endeavour to use them.

My sunset photo has been taken at an angle the actual photo is straight on the page.

This is the first page featuring my Hamilton Island photos.

Cardz 4 guyz again and A2Z scrapbooking

Cards 4 guyz has still got the transport theme.

I had a transparency of a hot air balloon so decided to make another card for this challenge.
It is a general non-specific birthday card.

********************************************************************************
I've used the other half of the blue cardstock to make a mother's day card.
It is for A2Z scrapbooking

I used a tiny daisy lace across the top.

Case this sketch & Cardz4guyz

Here is this week's sketch.
I'm now using up papers from my Counterfeit Kit
I used a pink background with blue and yellow papers.

***************************************************************************
The theme at Cardz4guyz is transport. I'm still using my Counterfeit Kit items and had a Vespa motorcycle among them. Perfect for this challenge.

The pink striped paper is from Freckled Fawn packaging and the sentiment is recycled from a birthday card.  Economcal card!
This qualifies this card for consideration at https://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com.au/

Rochelle Spears sketch challenge & 4 crafty chicks.

Rochelle Spears site has this sketch which I've used as a starting point for this layout.
Earlier this month I counterfeited a paper by using a rubber stamp of someone on a bicycle. I'm using that paper as part of this layout.

My cousin and I visited the war memorial in Canberra to research her grandfather's war records.(From the other side of her family). I went with her as I'm good at library research being a librarian.

We visited the wall with red poppies for all the deceased soldiers. Pat placed a poppy there.

My layout records that fact and was a sombre moment so I didn't have loads of embellishments.
My flairs from Bramble fox saying Remember the facts and family storyteller were appropriate.
The only arrows I had were the chevrons. It appeared to me later that they look like soldiers stripes. My twine was plain.

Also 4 crafty chicks have a card challenge named raining cats and dogs.

They want us to feature rain on our card.
There's no cats or dogs on mine, but I've used vellum as my background then made a tag featuring and umbrella picture I had.
The raindrops are from Flourish with a bling.

Challenge #1 and Mystical Scrapbooks.

At Mystical Scrapbooking they have a sketch challenge.

The challenge at Counterfeit Kits is "Easter" themed.

I've used my sense of humour and created this layout.

Everything on here is from my Counterfeit kit.

Challenge Yourself

My layout for Challenge Yourself is using my Counterfeit kit.

Here is the sketch

I started with 2 turquoise papers. Then I added a third strip across the top.
On top of that I used some images from Darkroom Door.

The pink flowers are Prima and the vines are FWAB. The bicycle is from St Tropez collection.
I'm quite liking pink and blue combo on layouts recently.

Tuesday 10 April 2018

Cards in Envy and Li'l red wagon.

Over at Cards in Envy they ask us to use the negative from a punch.

I've had this ballerina with a punched out heart for a while and decided now was the time to use it.
The dusty pink spotted paper goes well with the grey.
I kept the sentiment area plain as the picture is the feature.
It says "Today is the best day because of you".

At Li'l Red wagon they want farm animals on cards.
This really tested me because I've used up any farm related things I had.
So off to Pinterest I went where I found pigs....that reminded me I had a piglet stamp.

My card was made by stamping the piglets on pink paper.
Next I mounted that pink paper on to pink vellum
With MME mini word stickers, it became a baby girl card.

Lasting memories paper technique challenge

Lasting memories has a paper technique challenge.

I started with a piece of Bella iWood paper which has a timber look.

I rollered it all over with walnut ink so that it looks brown all over.
Next I tore around the 4 edges.
Then used pinecone ink to darken around it.

I placed the photo under the paper and cut and rolled around the photo.
On the opposite side of the layout I have layered and in one case rolled again to back my journaling.
The 3 embellishments are Oleander brand. The alphas are Jillibean soup Alphabeans

When doing my journaling I made one mistake in the text...proof that I'm not perfect.

This all started because I spilled walnut ink on the kitchen sink.... :)

Friday 6 April 2018

Seize the birthday & Southern Girls challenge.

Seize the Birthday has an optional bird theme.

I kept my card plain and simple. (Sometimes we need those). I punched some border lace and as well as my sentiment added a tiny owl in the corner.

My second card is for Southern Girls challenge.

I've made a retirement card for a lady I used to work with.
I always like the look of pink and navy together.

Craft Rocket challenge & Tic tac toe.

Here's a new challenge for me, Craft Rocket challenge.

This time it is flowers and say which is your favourite & why.

I like daisies. They always look so happy and in a group have a spectacular show.

I made a card using 2 flowers, for Mothers Day.

Another card challenge I sometimes visit is Tic tac toe

I've gone down the right hand column with this card, but somehow I subconsciously made it a Thank You card too. The stripes and florals are there.

Off the rails

Off the rails scrapbooking has this mood board and the instruction to use lots of colour.

April Challenge

Although I love colour, this one frightens me a little, but here goes..........

I'm starting with a paper from my kit.Echo Park Sweet summertime.

See the source image

There's a challenge in itself.!
I used a strip of green across the middle then cut out the remaining checked paper behind the strip. I used this vertically.
I added some yellow paper lace.
I've used a larger 5x7 photo as my daughter was wearing green so it matched.
My title is pink to stand out.
Journaling is lots of little MME words. My embellishments are 3 wood veneer hearts and 3 flowers.

Thursday 5 April 2018

The scrap room

Here's the April  jump start sketch at The Scrap room.

I've dived into my Counterfeit kit and pulled out 3 Kaisercraft papers from the lilac avenue collection. They are very fresh and spring inducing.

Also on this page are 2 wood veneer flowers and 3 glitter dots, a Smile die cut ,a die cut from the St Tropez range and several words. Although it can't be seen the strip along the bottom matches the right hand side one at the top.

These are my 2 best friends and have been for over 40 years.

Wednesday 4 April 2018

Unstampabelles & Case this sketch.

At Unstampabelles they want acetate or vellum.

I just happened to have acetate on my scrap desk so made this Mother's Day card.

The white patch on the LHS of the picture must be reflection from the scanner. It isn't on the card.

The coloured flowers on the card are new. I bought them specially for my Easter cards.

Next is a card for case this sketch. Case this sketch

I used a punched border plus a bicycle and sentiment from my Counterfeit Kit.

Make my Monday Challenge

At Make my Monday challenge the theme is something with wings.

I found a scrap of paper featuring fairies and butterflies so made this thank you card.

Tuesday 3 April 2018

Cute card Thursday & 4 crafty chicks.

The challenge at Cute card Thursday is to use a quote.
With Mothers Day looming I'm making cards for that.
I'm also entering it on http://4craftychicks.blogspot.com.au/ where anything goes.

I have used a tag and an AST I made years ago .
The quote on the tag says "The discovery of a new dish does more for the happiness of mankind than the discovery of a star."

Monday 2 April 2018

Paper players

Over at the Paper players there is a musical theme.

I've made a general greeting card using a felt violin embellishment with a background on vellum.
The sentiment and vellum are from my counterfeit kit.

Roadrunner looney tunes.png

While in Arizona I was talking to Maggie about Road Runners and found out they live in Arizona.
Luckily enough they had photos of one they had seen. Here it is on this layout!

I started with an old AC paper named Monograms in lime green.
I misted in blue through a chicken wire mask.

I chose 2 different sets of alphas for my title.
My decorative border is freehand.

Colours are all there in one form or another.

Scrapbookit and 100 patterned paper challenges.

I'm combining 2 challenges for this layout.
Firstly, Facebook has a group named 100 pattern paper challenge and this week there is this sketch

I've managed to use3 papers plus some vellum from my Counterfeit kit on this.

Secondly, Scrapbookit has a challenge where we need to use the following:
1. Friends
2.Colour we don't use often
3. Die cuts
4. Stamping

My layout features my friend Margaret who has battled cancer 3 times and survived. This was taken at her son's wedding about a year ago.
The colour I don't often use is PINK. (I despise it)
I've used 3 diecuts ;the 2 roses floral group and the word lovely.
The stamping is 2 small pink hearts above the photo.
The 3 journaling boxes are from D-Lish scraps.
The flair is from Bramble Fox.
