li"l red wagon

Last card for today. This one is for Li'l red wagon.

They want spring flowers. I've made this card to cheer up a friend. The sentiment says Happy Days because I wish her that. I used a small posy of tulips and tiny white lily of the valley. Very spring I think.

My background is metallic corrugated card

The male room

I've made a man's birthday card for The male room where they want food or drink.

It features a barbecue and the word "sixty". My neighbour is turning 60 and quite often cooks BBQ so it is very appropriate. We can't actually see food on the card, but it is food related.

Allsorts challenge and Heartsquest fantasy challenge

This card is for Allsorts challenge. where they want monochrome or anything goes. It is almost all yellow, but if not, it can be anything goes.

While I had the yellow cardboard out I also made this thank you fairy card.

Again, I used scraps of patterned paper, then matted it on yellow card. The fairies are from Graphic 45.

Inspire create challenge plus Love those pretty papers.

At Inspire create challenge they want black and white. I'm making a few thank you cards as they are always handy.

Here's my card for this challenge

My next card is for Love those pretty papers challenge.

I've used 3 smaller pieces of patterned paper on this car.It features a deer trotting through a rose garden and has gold edging down one side.

It is also a thank you card.

The paper players

At the Paper Players they want a CAS card featuring food.

I had a filmstrip from Darkroom door featuring lollies so used that plus some foam words.

Makes me hungry just looking at it.

Sketch and scrap throwback sketch.

We are asked to choose one of these.

I've chosen the large circle sketch on the right.

Here's my layout.

My circle is smaller because I wanted to get that chipboard sewing machine on this layout, My photo and title are in the same place and I used a fancy edged paper on top of black to add contrast.

The story behind this that my aunt was a great dressmaker. My cousin in the photo still uses the old sewing machine.

Colour challenge and throwback sketch.

I've made this layout for the colour challenge at The Scrap room.

I started by cutting 6 circles then found a strip of patterned paper featuring 3 of the colours. I bordered it with washi tape, top and bottom. After adding my photos I used 2 cocoa vanilla Bohemian Dream Flairs. The photos were taken at a strange angle so they appear crooked but they are straight on the page.

Using the same colours, I also did the throwback sketch.

I had a postcard of a sloth I bought in Costa Rica in case I didn't see sloths. I used that.

Jumpstart sketch

Here is the jumpstart sketch at the scraproom.

I used a photo of the forest canopy in Costa Rica. It was taken from the Aerial tram. We were the same height as birds and small monkeys. It was awe inspiring!

I used shades of green on this as I thought it was appropriate.

Sunrise photos bliss

This is a quick one using a sequence of 3 photos. Early on the morning we were in Puerto Vallarta I stood on deck and watched the sunrise. It was spectacular!

I've used the 2 colours yellow and black on this layout. I had a few tiny word strips plus gold sparkly flowers. My title BLISS seems appropriate.

Sketches in Thyme.

This layout is for Sketches in Thyme.I had 2 photos of the sea when it was a bit rougher so made my layout about that. My background darker paper already had a whitewash over it. The paler paper was actually an ANZAC paper but I managed to avoid the flag on it. I fussy cut the 2 dolphin pictures.
My arrows were done by inking through a mask and I cut chicken wire chipboard for the texture.

Paper Issues scraplift

We are asked to scraplift this at Paper Issues.

I had a beautiful sunrise photo I wanted to scrap.

I used mermaid paper as my background. It had the pinks and blues plus I was on a cruise.

I found tags to match the photo and used embroidery cotton instead of twine. I also used stars and hearts instead of flowers.

Tic tac toe challenge

This morning I have made a card for Tic Tac Toe challenge

I went diagonally so embossing and pink.

Here's my card. There's some brown but the main colour is pink.

Ellibelle's corner

Yesterday I used some of the 6x6 papers from my kit and made these fruit cards.

They turned out quite colourful and I'm happy to use those papers. I'm entering them at Ellibelle's garden

Where they want anything from a garden.

Just add ink and Li'l red wagon

This morning I'm making cards. The first one is for Just add ink.

I've inked through a stencil using pinecone ink, then added a glitter die cut heart. My sentiment is 2 kisses or XX. I've kept it simple so it can be used for a variety of occasions.

My next card is for Li'l red wagon. They want baby cards. I found the perfect paper that even had the word "baby" already printed on it. So, I just used that on a yellow card and added a tiny, glittered heart near the sentiment.

Sketch and scrap

At Sketch and scrap there is this sketch. I used mostly my Counterfeit kit plus some extra cardstock on this layout. It features a walk we did in Puerto Vallarta. Part of it was climbing up 3 flights of stairs. I made it up one! My recent knee operation plus heart ablation made it impossible to go further.

Lasting Memories

"Lasting Memories" Scrapbook Layout Challenges has a tic tac toe this time.

I went across the bottom row. Simple stories Hello Summer stickers, 3 patterned papers including a very old Bo Bunny half circle journal box cut from a whole sheet plus a border punch on the plaid paper.

This was Puerto Vallarta and a very hot day as we walked along the waterfront.

Scraplifting Vicki

I have scraplifted Vicki's layout using mainly Counterfeit Kit items. I added a purple and yellow balloon paper as one of my layers.

There are also lots of Simple stories Hello Summer stickers on here as they're bright and colourful.

Soul scrappers This or That.

I chose to do the yellow side this time..

The only blue paper I had in my kits had carrots on it. (Oh well, something to amuse!).

My photo is of a skull celebrating the day of the dead in Mexico. I triple matted it.

Underneath that I used 3 more strips of patterned paper making a total of five. My die cuts are the red squares which I attached with brads. I used a 3rd green brad under the photo.I then put white corrugated card in the squares and added 2 printed chipboard "adventure" related.

Extra items I added were 2 sticker clouds, washi tape along the bottom and some small word stickers.

Freaky fast challenge plus one word challenge

Here's the May freaky fast formula at the Scrap room and at Soul Scrappers they have a one-word challenge using the letters P, E or G. AS I was putting this together, I realised EAT would be a great title as this was on the wall in the dining room of our cruise ship.

I finally used those brads I've had for 4 years too!

Now here's my layout.

I'm also pleased I could use some of the ribbon lace I put in my kit.

INSD layouts

My next layout is a scraplift of Laurie's Halloween layout at Counterfeit Kit.

I'm please because I recycled a corrugated card piece as one of my frames plus the circle under "enjoy" was a dress tag. The knife and fork were good to find a home for as well.

I used paler colours to emphasise the photo of course.

This next one is for Counterfeit Kit again. Some of the things on here are from my kit.
The cupcake paper is vellum.

Also I just discovered

First 2 layouts

My first layout for the new kit is this one.

I turned the sketch sideways to accommodate my landscape photos.

We recently went to the Royal Easter show and one of my favourite parts was the district exhibits where the farmers display their produce. These 2 photos show it well.

My second layout was for a challenge at Paper Issues.

May Counterfeit Kit 2026

The kit we are counterfeitting is this

.Mom's Kitchen Mega Bundle - Echo Park Paper Co plus the add ons.

https://echoparkpaper.com/new/new-collections/moms-kitchen/

This reminded me so much of a kit we did in May 2021. I guess what goes around comes around.

My Kit
KITCHEN CAPERS

That fact made me start in a weird way. I had some brads left from that previous time, so started by finding those.
There are teapot, cup, measuring jug, cookie jar. Plus, several red and black round or square brads.

Next,
 I looked for papers

I matched as best I could. There's papers with lobsters, carrots and pineapples!

I also had some fruity 6x6 papers

There are strawberries, raspberries, apples and cherries.

My embellishments contain quite a mixture.

I include the Simple stories stickers "Hello Summer" as I'm still scrapping cruise photos.

There are some journal tags I made using the fruit papers, red lolly bags, a darkroom door lolly strip, old fashioned lace with ribbon threaded through it, a cupcake sticker and doileys.

It should be an interesting month.

A big welcome to our guest designer, Debbie Barton.

I am very honored and excited to guest design for May’s Counterfeit Kit Challenge! Scrapbooking, to me, is not only a challenge and stress reliever, but a happy way to remember and put on paper the joys, challenges, and fun in my daily life.

When I began scrapbooking, in the 70’s & 80’s for school memories, the big thing was cutting out pictures and gluing them into photo albums. I then thought that adding stickers and cutting out frames really made my books super special. Putting as many pictures and stickers as possible on a page was the best. And who didn’t love a collage! ;0

I stopped scrapping while raising 2 kids, getting my Music Education degree and my Masters in Music. I taught choir and music for quite a time and just loved my students. After retirement, my hubby and I moved to SC in 2016. We played at living on the lake with swimming, boating and just relaxing for a bit along the way. We traveled when we could and enjoyed the “big” (boring?) retirement life, esp in 2020. I was blessed to discover several online scrapping groups which were actually not only sanity savers but life savers. When I was able to travel to crops and classes, I jumped on board and now have to remember to stay home. I have taken classes with so many amazing teachers. Totally crafty heaven! Recently I have been given a chance to be on a creative team with the wonderful ScrapHappy Team. Great ladies. So many ideas and talents.

I enjoy working on both new and old mixed media techniques and learning new ways to work with my paper products. I recently realized that I do not need every new & sparkly thing. I can make my own papers and embellies! What a fabulous discovery! I hope you are enjoying this month’s challenges!
