Make my Monday challenge

I had a scrap of Graphic 45 background paper so used it on this card.

I then layered a couple of flowers, one dipped in walnut ink. Behind that I looped some organza ribbon. At the top I cut a tag and used a vintage sticker saying Best Friends. Again, I used the organza ribbon on the tag.

I'm entering this at Make my Monday challenge

Lasting memories

Our last challenge at Lasting memories is "Ruff Ruff rescue"

As Guest Designer for this month, they asked me to make a layout for each of the challenges. This is number 4. I needed to use these colours.

Luckily my cousin's son is in police rescue. I kept the layout simple but used a circular sentiment from an old card and added ribbons to make it like a chest pennant. I also added wood veneer hearts and enamel dots.

Lasting Memories- You've got a friend in me.

At Lasting Memories this week, I am still Guest designer and our challenge is

My interpretation was this layout featuring my 2 best friends. It was 2 different Christmas get together and shows us being silly and giggling. You are never too old to be silly.

Challenge #2 Use an envelope (or bag)

Challenge #2 at Counterfeit Kit was to use an envelope.

In my case I used a lolly bag for my journalling card.

Fitting 5 photos plus the bag took some planning.

I combined this layout with another I made early this month, also using confetti,

And have a double!

Shopping our stash.

I had part of a balloon border strip. I used it on this card for Shopping our stash.

The die cut behind the sentiment also came from the same range

Goodbye Prima Rossi Belle

I had a pad full of Prima Rossi Belle collection papers.

I have one left which is neutral on one side and bold black and white stripes with pink roses on the other. (see my Epic Falls layout.)

Here are my layouts using that range.

I think I will use the neutral side.

Soul Scrappers has this challenge.

Tell us which you have chosen.

Lasting Memories-Gimme the chocolate

At lasting memories this week the theme is chocolate

Here's my layout for this challenge, although being the guest designer this month I can't enter the challenge.

Sunday 12 February 2023

Another layout of a deer.

One of my favourite colour combinations is pink and brown.

In my counterfeit kit I had some 6x6 floral circle papers and no idea what to use them on. Today I had inspiration. I used both here, the pink background paper, plus several other smaller items in my kit (hooray)

The pink card behind the photo is from the Heidi Swapp confetti box. The tiny deer is cut from a scrap of Little yellow bicycle paper. The washi tape was in my kit, the banner at the top was also.

I found the branch, plus a shorter strip of ribbon and the fawn coloured tag in my scrap basket. The other pink ribbon tag and "memories" were also there.

                                                      ******************************

I've also made an Easter card today. First one. This is for Send a smile for kids.

I used a small piece of baby paper featuring prams. then added apricot strip which has a handwritten sentiment and finished with a rabbit button. It will be cute to give to a very small child or Easter baby.

Li'l Red wagon and Path of positivity

I had some of that "ghastly" paper left (I discovered it is 7 gypsies). I made a couple of cards.

The first one is a Valentines for a man. It's for Li'l red wagon.

As it features the words love and kiss and hug there really isn't any need for a sentiment.

                                                        ***************************

The other one could be male or female. It is a positive thought card and says "Just be yourself, you are beautiful". I'm entering it at Path of Positivity where anything goes.

In both cases I used orange organza ribbon and cork pennant shaped die cut.

Scraproom Throwback sketch

Here's the throwback sketch from the scrap room.

I only had one photo but stuck to the sketch otherwise.

My dark green embroidery cotton is probably 80 years old. It came from Mum's stash.

For the pattern papers I chose scraps of some well-known brands-Studio Calico, Prima and Basic Grey. I added washi to the right hand one because the edges were raw and distressed. It adds more texture too.

The background paper is from Couture creations "Seaside girl."

The scraproom Jumpstart sketch.

Here's the jumpstart sketch from the scraproom.

Earlier today I went through my green scrap bag and found some strips I could tear for the sides. Some had to be joined in the middle, so I used the die cut florals to cover that.

I have an album about the various decades and tried to capture the fashions of each. Here's my 1960s layout.

1970s

I started thinking about the 1950s and the thing that "sticks out" in my mind is the Bullet bras. So, here's my layout.

Mystical challenge 3 Sketch

At Mystical Scrapbooking they had this sketch

And here's my interpretation.

Everything on here except the wood veneer deer and spotted frame is from my kit.

Lasting Memories Guest designer

I'm Guest designer this month at Lasting Memories, so there are 4 challenges I have made examples for.

The first one is fast cars

And here is my layout

Please join in the fun at Lasting memories!

Li'l red wagon

At Li'l red wagon they want hot drinks. Naturally I thought of coffee as I have just one each day.

I've made a man's card featuring a coffee cup.

My sentiment says "Words cannot expresso how much you mean to me"

Freaky Fast formula and Soul scrappers alphas

Here is the FFF at The Scraproom

We are asked to choose from the letters, D, P, or A at Soul Scrappers.

I'm combining the 2.

I had to photograph this one because the flowers are 3d. Apart from the criteria, I used washi tape x2, a tag and brad, and 3 flowers from Autumn Lane (now closed down). I didn't mat the photos because of the plain circles.

Saturday 4 February 2023

Rochelle Spears and Scrap with Stacey plus Challenge YOUrself.

I'm combining these 2 challenges this morning. Scrap with Stacey and Rochelle Spears

I went across the top row. There are staples in the tag top left, arrow washi tape on the right and a gold doiley behind the photos. As this was Christmas Day the green and gold suited the theme.

                                                             **************

At Challenge YOUrself the theme is a year in review. My daughter came up to stay for 3 days and we had time to chat and reflect on the year. She had some hassles at work ending with the person leaving. I had been in hospital with pneumonia again as well as Pericarditis. We went out for Christmas lunch because I wasn't well enough to cook.

This layout represents the fact that we could finally relax and enjoy our day. I sat on the "throne" (remembering the queen) and standing with the deer.

Friday 3 February 2023

Sketch and Scrap

Here's the sketch for a layout at Sketch n scrap.

In my kit I added a piece of gift-wrapping paper which resembled the dark floral in the kit papers.

I used it as my background on this layout. I also had a large tag in my kit that said Magic, so used it as my title on the layout.

The snowflakes are recycled from a Christmas card and fussy cut. I used 2 strands of ribbon across the layout.

Thursday 2 February 2023

Christmas confetti.

I saw this layout on Hip kit clubs from 2018

Mixed Media Monday with Irit, Lorilei and Jana – Hip Kit Club

It inspired me to use the confetti I had left over from my last kit plus a circle garland I've had for ages.

and here's what I came up with.

The paper and die cut plus washi are all from my Counterfeit kit.

Scrap our stash

Here's the sketch for scrap our stash in February.

I'm still scrapping Christmas photos and this layout features my daughter and myself celebrating Christmas dinner. We are both wearing the kit colours orange and green, so I used those with my papers.

I added a brown border strip because it blended with that background strip across the middle. The tag is one I cut out myself and the heart is stitched using embroidery cotton.

Inside my stitched heart I added a row of dashes with my gel pen to echo the stitches. I've added 2 small flowers from Autumn Lane (now closed). The final touch is some enamel dots in green.

I hand wrote my title inside the heart.

Here is the unboxing video

A closer look at the kit first.

Presenting my kit "Irish dream"      (because of the green and orange)

As usual I start with the PAPERS, here's my collection.

Top left is a couple of ghastly ones that contain orange, so in they went!
Bottom row, I added a pink/brown heart garland (partly used) and a few 6x6 papers in green.
Also, more doileys and 2 neutral Prima papers to "tame" the bright ones.
Then at the last minute I remembered this paper, So, it has gone in too.

I found a collection of TAGS to suit.

I've also added in some chevron bags which will be good or layering.

Here are my extra EMBELLISHMENTS.

As well as the rose gold alphas, I will use up existing partly used alpha sets in pink and green.
I'll also add brads, paint, ink and smaller items if required.
I chose to use no stamps. I tend to forget those anyway.

Welcome to our Guest Designer: Karen Pietruszkiewicz , looking forward to you joining us.

"I am a newly retired Neonatal Nurse Practitioner that loves being home now full time with my 5 rescue dogs and 2 cats and catching up on all of my scrappy fun that I have so missed over the years when I was working! I started scrapbooking in the early 90's with Creative Memories shortly after I got married. At the time my Husband was Active Duty in the Submarine Service so had LOTS of time on my hands when he deployed to keep busy, thank goodness for scrapping! I also love jewlery making, reading, and travel, looking forward to checking off places on my Bucket List one at a time! I am also a Certified Pet Massage Practitioner, but unfortunately, with physical limitations and progressive arthritis, I have not been able to continue with this as a business but enjoy the occasional massages I can provide the rescue dogs at local shelters. I am so happy I found CKC and love seeing what you all are able to do with shopping your own stash, so so inspiring! I like to scrap non chronologically with what I am in the mood to do that particular day and try and do something in my crafty space every day! It is truly my therapy in this crazy world...Thank you all so much for having me this month, it is truly an honor!!! Karen,"
