Jingle Belles rock

Over at Jingle Belles Rock we are asked to use Christmas food as our theme.

I had some strips of papers featuring gingerbread men, candy canes and those red & white swirly sweets. Basically I just adhered the strips and added my sentiment.
My card reminds me of a fair isle jumper for some reason.

4 Crafty Chicks -Make it sparkle

The challenge at 4 crafty chicks is to make it sparkle.
I had some white with silver patterned paper and a matching flower with glitter edges and a large rhinestone centre.
I also used silver sparkly washi tape down the side.
I haven't put a sentiment on this as it could be for Christmas,Engagement, Wedding etc.

Seize the birthday and completion of Counterfeit KIt.

I've found the bottom of the box containing my November Counterfeit Kit.
A few things have gone back to my stash but most has been used.

One of the things I was able to use was the set of raised leaves.
The last of these are used on this card for  Seize the birthday.
(There is a small section of Kraft across the top similar to the bottom. It was chopped off in the scanner)

I also made a second card on the same theme using a tag I previously made.It features paint dribbles.
There is a leaf on this as well.

House of cards Vintage and shabby

This is the sketch at House of Cards.
Last year I won a Bella pack of Christmas papers. The reds are more maroon, which lens itself to vintage cards.
Here's 2 I've made, my first being for house of cards.(Although you can choose both if you like)

Case this sketch #101 and the Shabby Tea room

Here's the latest sketch

I've used a Basic Grey background paper from my Counterfeit Kit
The key is from October afternoon.
The rub ons are Jenny Bowlin.
I've kept it neutral with a young man in mind.
The card is straight, the scanner is crooked.

The challenge at the Shabby Tea room is to be grateful and use hessian and or twine.
I've chosen hessian, mixed with some old lace and a pretty bouquet of roses.

Use your stuff colour challenge

This proved an interesting combination of colours.

I've focused on the pale blue with a dash of the other colours as well.
I hope a touch of cream is permissible.

BLOG HOP-Stuck?! sketch and colour me scrappy and challenge #1(Use pinterest)

Welcome to Counterfeit Kits blog hop.

My post has been inspired by 2 challenges plus our own Challenge #1 to use pinterest as inspiration.

Here's the sketch from Stuck?
I'm combining it with colour palette from CMS

The additional task there is to scrap something you are thankful for.

I'm also on the DT for Counterfeit Kits and so Challenge #1 was to scrap something from Pinterest.....in this case the Stuck sketch.
This part isn't a challenge per se, just me giving an example for others to be inspired by.

With all that in mind, here's my layout

I've used 3 different cardboards on this, inclusing the Bella corrugated one.
Reminds me of biscuits for some reason.
Next I cut the bicycle strips from one of my kit patterned papers.
I've added washi tape, another patterned paper semi circle offcut,Kaiser alphas and a handy word I had saying ADVENTURE.
This brings me to the CMS theme, I adore travelling.

Now to play "spot the squirrel" for this is yet another photo from Canada.
No, not there.

There's one, next to my plastic circle I've had for around 10 years.
I made the flower from paper pattern and have used a total of 3 flower pins as well as that pretty resin rose.

Another pin, a brad and yes a squirrel!

Now here is the order for the blog hop. You may wish to start at the beginning.

Creative scrappers sketch #282

Go and make a cuppa this will be a long post.
I've made a Billy Tea,my favourite brew!

Now in my Counterfeit Kit I had this very busy October Afternoon paper-Farmhouse Clothesline.
I want to use it because I like it!
I started by taming it with 2 other papers by Teresa Collins and Basic Grey.
I also added some punched out mesh.

Here's the sketch that I'm working from

I started with this sketch on Creative Scrappers.
For some reason I thought of birds. As I'm working through my holiday photos, I went to the eagle and Osprey photos.
When we were in Juneau Alaska we noticed eagles everywhere, more than I've ever seen.
I think I counted around 40.
At the top of the tramway we saw one with injured wings living in a cage.I felt sorry for such a majestic bird in a cage.
I combined these thoughts, plus some other bird embellishments to create this layout.

If you look at a close up of the left hand photo you can see 2 baby eagles in the nest.

The other photo features the osprey's nest which they build from that orange plastic tape found around construction sites. This one was balanced on top of a metal bridge.
                                                ******************************
A few weeks ago I attended a scrap weekend at Gundagai.
We made some fabulous items so I thought I'd share a few here.

A bloom girl layout with a ton of flowers.

 A canvas named Beautiful

Some memory files, still to be completed.
You can see there was lots of sprays and stamps and stencils involved.
This one is now ready to give as a Christmas gift.

Now my next trick is to add photos and embellishments.

If you've made it this far, thank you for your patience.
I finished my cuppa, have you?

Feeling Sketchy

I always enjoy doing Feeling Sketchy challenges and here's another practical design by Debi

I'm getting fed up with making Christmas cards so decided to use some scraps of Patterned paper.
The background and the fussy cut leaf are from a 6x6 pad I bought years ago.
As you can just see the actual card is orange.
I hope you like my card.

Scrap and Play and Scrappy Friends

Here's the criteria at Scrap and Play

For my layout I have achieved the following:
T=Tapes(washi),tag
H=hatpin, heart
A=arrow,American Crafts
N=Numbers
K=Kaisercraft,Knot of ribbon
F=Flick of mist,flower,frame
U=Unusual alphas
L=layers

I'm also using it for Scrappy Friends colour challenge

It qualifies on all counts there!

My layout features my 2 best friends for whom I'm extremely thankful.
In this case, they gave up a Saturday for nothing.
Despite advertising, nobody turned up to the garage sale. It was really weird.
I've used contrasting ribbon with glasses on it because it represents the fact that we were looking for customers all day.

All items on here are from this month's counterfeit Kit

Little Red Wagon layers

I hope I'm allowed to enter twice because here is another layered card.
On Little Red Wagon I've been inspired to create cards with layers.
I'm on a mission to make use of those scraps!

5 layers plus 2 chipboard end pieces.
I misted my sentiment.

Cardabilities and Little Red Wagon

This is the sketch at cardabilities

I haven't used mixed media but have chosen to use leftovers to make a birthday/Christmas/Multi Purpose card.
 My sentiment says TO.............
People can write their own name in there.

The centre circle featuring the moon face is from a very old paper I've had for at least 10 years.
The other 2 papers are Christmas papers.
I've used punchies where the flowers are in the sketch.
I'm also entering this in Little Red Wagon cards where the criteria is layers.
There are 4 layers on here.

Challenge YOUrself

Another challenge, this time at Challenge Yourself.

Here is the sketch

I started with the title this time, cut from a Little yellow Bicycle paper and it says "I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list". LOVE IT!

I had copied photos of me walking along a railway track in Western Australia.
Next, I found a wood veneer frame that said remember.
I began layering it using scraps from my Counterfeit Kit box.
I then stamped using a bakers stamp saying "hi there" with white paint on my background paper-Isabella by bo-bunny.

After putting my photo mat(s) down, I have added the wood veneer birds I painted silver & gold recently plus some pink confetti sequins to give it pazzaz.

There's no extra journaling because the bottom paper strip says it all.

Addicted to CAS

One of the card sites I sometimes visit is addicted to CAS.
The challenge obviously is the sketch.

I've found Christmas Thank You cards sell well in schools so here's my card.

I'm also entering it in Cards in Envy which is a thankful challenge.

And, except for the flower, everything else is from my Counterfeit Kit.
The cardstock is Kraft that I misted.

CSI scrap 365

Here is the criteria for Scrap 365 at CSI.
I haven't done CSI in a while but the colours in this matched my Counterfeit Kit.
The background travel paper is from Kaiser.
The other papers ,alphas and tag are from my counterfeit Kit.
The squirrels continue to adorn my pages.

The washi tape provided the structure on which I layered my other elements. The "exploring' sticker worked well, so did the "HEY" pennant.
I've wound twine around the tag and looped it around the top flair as well.
My journaling works well above the suitcases on the background paper.

Creative Scrappers 281

While unpacking photos I came upon this small one of Mum and I at my sister's place.
We were at my nephew's birthday party and it was just after I was married.

I saw this sketch at Creative Scrappers.
I've flipped it so that the photo is towards the right hand side.
I've also used elements from my Counterfeit Kit on this one, concentrating on the colours of teal and tan with floral overtones.
Another difference is I've put my lines skew instead of straight. Even my title is semi skew.

Use your stuff -Stamps

Over at Use your stuff the criteria this week is to use stamps.
I'm still busy making Christmas cards so here's my latest.
It is a minimalist one with silver stamping on white.
I added some rhinestones in 2 shades of green.
The card is clean, it is the scanner that needs a wipe.

Tag along challenge

I was sorting through some old postcards last night and found this cute picture of a boy selling papers on a Paris street.
On tag along challenge the topic is to use print.
The print of course is on the newspapers plus the "Good times" sentiment
I've misted the white tag using both red and turquoise then fussy cut the picture and adhered it.
I've finished off the tag with a blue brad.
