Allsorts challenge and Li'l red wagon

 I have several people turning 70 this year, including myself.

This pink card is for a dear friend in April.

Allsorts challenge has Things that fly. I used 2 butterflies and a dragonfly on this card.

                                                       **************************

At Li'l red wagon they want stencils.

I used purple mist through a dots stencil to create my background on this card.

The mannequin shape is relief canvas, which I also misted .

Lasting Memories -Barbie and Ken

 At Lasting Memories  they want us to use the letters of Barbie and Ken.

Using my March kit, I did the following:

B=butterflies

A=American crafts

R=ribbon

B=buttons

I=ink

E=enjoy

K= knees (bees knees)

E= envelope

N=notes.

This was a fun challenge, I'm glad I made the effort.

Seize the birthday -RED

 This morning I have made a card for Seize the birthday. They want us to feature red on a birthday card.

The background paper is from October Afternoon and the toadstools and grass are Flourish with a bling.

Mystical cyber crop challenge #1

Here is the sketch. I decided to use white cardstock and create my own background using mist through a stencil.

After doing that I used a combination of paper strips and washi tape to create my horizontals. I also added a small red frame to the side of the photo.

The banner was made by hand cutting cream paper plus twine of course.I added a few random things such as a star on a toothpick, a gold circle.I also added 2 layered Chipboard flowers with buttons and twine then dangled a key from another chipboard piece.

Soul scrappers sketch and colour challenge

 I used the Miss Betty collection from Kaisercraft on this sketch.

As I only had the one photo I kept the layout neat and tidy. There is washi tape on top of the photo plus 2 white tags from my Counterfeit Kit.
At Lasting Memories they want fasteners. The 2 small tags are held on by brads which are fasteners.

For the colour challenge here is the palette.

The milkshake,banana and board reminded me of a local cafe.

The background paper is another Miss Betty collection and so is the phrase that says you hold the key to my heart.

I made the yellow mat using scraps and offcuts. The striped paper was a larger offcut.

We also had to use metals, so I added 3 paperclips then I stapled a triangle scrap to the bottom corner. I did my journalling right on the background paper.

Farm quest

 At Farmquest they have asked for beehives, farmhouse clocks, crickets, 1700s farmhouses etc.

The closest I have photo wise is a talk by a beekeeper on Norfolk Island, he did have hives right behind where he was standing but they aren't on this layout. The honey is there, however.

I used a sparkle dot grey paper with yellow and blue mats as contrast. I added silver chipboard numbers to my background.

Mystical cyber crop challenge #2

 Today I've made a layout based on this sketch.

It is for challenge #2 at Mystical scrapbooking.

When I was in Arizona we visited the Botanical gardens where I saw these Native American performers. They were so colourful so I used orange and green as my 2 base colours.

I'm pleased to use more of the orange ribbon and 3smaller tags plus a journal piece from my kit. I've also used the required chipboard on here. The star negative at the bottom plus the word dance is chipboard.

Freaky Fast Friday

Here is the requirement for this month at the Scrap Room group.

I had one photo of a get together I had with 3 childhood friends just after Christmas.

From my counterfeit kit, I used the papers as per above recipe. Also had 3 stickers and 2 tabs from a Basic Grey set which work colour wise.

The alphas had some tiny squiggles so i added those.

I'm also using this one at Challenge yourself ,since it was a good memory from last year.

Rochelle Speares and Scrap with Stacey.

At Rochelle Spears challenge there is the above sketch.

At Scrap with Stacey I went straight down the middle of the tic tac toe. (Washi tape, triangle and mixed media)

Using only kit items, here is my finished layout.

For the mixed media I used purple mist then a black ink on star stamp. Next i used lilac ink with bubble wrap.  The washi tape is white with gold stars to match the stamped stars.

I also used some bird stickers I had in my kit and the word daydream was cut from packaging.

Sketch 'n' scrap and blast off soul scrappers. Lasting Memories

I'm combining this sketch from Sketch 'n' scrap with a challenge at Soul Scrappers.

The 4 puffy stickers have been substituted with enamel dots in creamy apricot.

There are actually 2 cameras as I wanted to use both.

My 5 chipboard pieces are 2 orange stars plus the round Fri(day) one and 2 wood veneer cherries.

The 3 word title is obvious. The 2 die cuts are the flower top right plus the today we journal shape.

and a couple of close ups

This will also work for the complimentary colours at Lasting Memories.

3 cards

 I had a busy week just gone but managed to make three cards using my Counterfeit kit.

The pictures are from a set of Monet stickers which went well with the navy. I'm thinking the "impossible to forget" cards would be suitable sympathy cards.
I used striped ribbon and washi tape on these as well.
I'm entering these at the sisterhood of crafters  where they ask us to use blue and also at A place to start where they want monochromatic. The middle card fulfills that criteria.

Mystical sketch #3

 I used a B side on here (the pink spots), but most of the rest is from my kit. We had to use chipboard and that house sent me on a flight of fancy. We used to visit my Aunt on Christmas afternoon, a tradition started way back in the 1950s. These are all her descendants (5 cousins plus offspring) who gathered on Christmas day. Some travel from 12 hours away to be there.

Here's my layout

It is based on this sketch

Mystical sketch #2

 Erica and I met up at Cascades Restaurant in Goulburn to celebrate our Christmas dinner together.

Food was really nice and we were able to sit and talk for as long as we wanted.
The 2 photos I used on my layout were from that day.
Because we were both wearing Autumn tones I chose to use oranges and greys. The chipboard pieces are the black star negative top right and green negative bottom left.
I'm pleased to also use 2 different ribbons and ric-rac braid on here. Working through that stash slowly.
The lace doiley sticker was perfect as it is a table event.

Mystical sketch challenge one.

 Mystical has sketch challenges this month so I'm playing along.

Debra chose this sketch for Challenge #1.

I put in my Counterfeit kit 3 sheets of Kaisercraft Journey collection. This features the large gold lanterns on a navy base. These 2 photos matched exactly. I used neutral for the 2 smaller papers behind the photos.

I also have a sheet of Basic Grey Serenade stickers. These were used on the pennant and the zigzag borders. I used embroidery thread for my banners and punched holes to tie it off on the Mulberry paper tag and on the right-hand side.

My added chipboard is the star. My title was actually car related stickers, but I consider myself a limited addition, so used that. I also added a Christmas tree cut from a card. That was the only item not in my kit.

I used a 2nd sheet on the B side to create a pocket page for a theatre pogram from when I went to New York..

Also on this one I used a black tassel, brad and some chipboard stars .

February Counterfeit Kit

 Our kit this month is from

"November Rain" Limitless Kit – {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club (notjustforboyskitclub.com)

Here's the pictures.

I started gathering using these pictures as inspiration.

Presenting my kit        AUTUMN MOON

Here's my papers on their own

I concentrated on the 2 main colours that popped out at me, orange and navy.
I've added plaids and chevron plus a striped paper and the marvellous lantern paper.
No bricks to be found anywhere.

Next was my embellishments and alphas.

I have gold, green and brown alphas plus a tiny set in orange.

I found this pack of die cuts in oranges and blues so will add those as this kit has a masculine feel.

My other embellishments included ribbons, cord, ric-rac braid, embroidery thread, buttons, and a big selection of tags. There are blank Kraft coloured ones in 2 sizes.
There are also 2 TLC sheets one says Autumn and has frames which can be used.

I will also use paint, mists, stencils as required.
