Dream of History

Here's the layout I did using 5 photos. There is a Castle(Castillo Sporzesco) in the centre of Milan which dates back to the 14th century. It isquite good condition and is fascinating to walk around and imagine what life was like back then. That is why I called it "Dream of History".

I used various lettering plus scraps of paper, ribbon and 2 tags.

Mystical scrapbooking

I've just uploaded a layout to mystical scrapbooks featuring 3 old polaroid photos of myself at around 19 years of age. It seems so long ago...it was!I used orange and lime green for the sketch as those colours were big in those days.
I've one more challenge to do this month....another sketch for A2Z scraplets.

Irish layout gone dotty

This was a layout I did for Enchanted scrapbooking. I love this paper but haven't been inspired to use it until now.The people in Ireland paint their doors bright colours and in the case of this pub where we had lunch, the whole building is bright. This layout came together well and I enjoyed using bright colours for a change. It was very cold and rainy that day and we enjoyed some yummy toasted sandwiches in this pub.

Praise plus shopping.

"Can I ask, do you mind if I draw attention to your layout on the blog? I’d love to mention your idea about the speech bubble representing a quote. I think it is such a good idea and I just love the way you thought of it – I’d like to let people know if you don’t mind." This was a quote from Nic Aspinall on Puzzle sketches who sent me an email about my Marie Antionette layout. It is nice to get feedback from one of the best scrapbookers in Australia.
Been busy doing two other layouts then today hunting both Spotlight and Lincraft for Red scrapbooking paper, there seems to be a drought on it. Finally got some plus some other goodies as well.

Change Trains

Here is the change trains layout I did for One little Aussie word.I wanted to keep the train tickets and took photos of the stations while in Britain.

It will remind me of all that travelling we did whilst there.

This and That

I've sent a copy of the layout below to my friend in Greece who said it nearly made her cry...hopefully in a good way.I guess we are both sentimental souls and because we have seen each other so infrequently our friendship is all that more special.
I've done a layout using punched circles for White with one this month.Their theme was purple. It will be uploaded there soon.
Also I've done a layout for puzzle sketches whose theme was once upon a time. I featured photos from Versailles about Marie Antionette.
Purplescraps challenge this month is to cut your photos into other shapes, use purplescraps, doodling and bling.I've gathered the raw ingredients, now I just need to assemble the layout.
Finally, one little aussie word has gone quiet.I did a change trains layout for it last month but now there isn't a word for this month. hop they are still making a go of it.There have been a couple of comments on here that I think came from there so thank you to those people for your input.

Out of the hat entry

The criteria for this month's challenge is felt, haberdashery and monochromatic.

I made this layout today using Bella felt edging, prima flowers and sewed these "flowers" around to gather them then added a button as the centre. The beach was on Rhodes,Greece and the sea was really that colour! My journalling will go on the daisy patterned paper when I find out the name of the beach.

Lots of doodling

This layout features my Greek friend Thena and myself in front of the reindeer statue at Mandraki harbour in Rhodes.

We recently got together after 35 years apart and were excited to see each other as well as amazed to discover the good friendship we had is still there. It was a joy that felt youthful and time just slipped away.I tried to capture this in the layout which involved inking, painting, doodles as well as using up some stray letters I've had in my stash for ages.
