Artastic this month features a fabric artist so the challenge was to use sewing and fabrics.
I found this lace flower in my stash so have appliqued it to the cardstock and used zigzags as my stems.I've also used 2 scrapmatts flowers in the middle of which I've dabbed black ink with a cotton bud.The idea was to make them co-ordinate with the larger flower.
I've used a variety of black letters in my title purely because I didn't have a complete set of any.
The patterned paper has been border punched with a lace pattern too.

Colour Throwdown 220
Here's a card I've made for Colour Throwdown this week. Here's the link http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com.au/
and here's the palette:-
I recently bought a Crafter's Workshop chevron template so misted turquoise and cherry red through it.The colours bled into each other slightly, but I like that randomness.
I've used a lime green tag featuring a crab and tied some red and white bakers twine around it.
The congratulations sentiment stamp is from Annabelle stamps.

Use your stash of pp.
The challenge at "use your stuff" this week was to use up old patterned papers.
This particular moonscape paper kept getting put to the bottom...I wonder why???
The 2 photos are from old slides of Disneyland when Dad went in 1959.I've matted them on red pp and also made a little flag from the same pp to put on the planet. The stars are from scrapbooking'n'craft which I painted white, then I used rusting powder from Twiddlybits. The clock is another pp.So that makes 3 I've used today.

And in my spare hours.....
I've been blog surfing and saw this quilt photo
http://kate-showandtell.blogspot.com.au/
Which reminded me of something I started over 26 years ago..........
so I got it out of the green plastic garbage bag where it has been living and spread it out on my floor
.....
I've quite a way to go yet!
It started as a cot quilt for Erica, who recently turned 26.
It is ALL HAND SEWN.
I'm now thinking a single bed coverlet. Each flower is made from fabrics of dresses I owned from about 12 onwards plus Erica's baby dresses etc.I think it is called a memory quilt.
My aim is to have it done by the end of January.Wish me luck!!!!!!!

Counterfeit kit Challenge #1 November
It has been a busy month but I've finally arrived back at Counterfeit Kits where the first challenge was to use a stamp from your stash on a layout.
I've chosen a vine leaf fine stamp which appears 3 times on the left hand side of my layout. It is from the Kaisercraft "Madame boutique" collection and appeared in the original post for counterfeit kits.

Colour Throwdown #219
Here is the colourscheme for Colour Throwdown #219.They are all my favourites.
So I got stamping!
I love this kaisercraft stamp that says" Remember this moment", which I inked in silver on to white. Then I've used Bermuda bay pp as my background with Limeade as my mat.I've added chevron washi tape and a cute Twiddlybits owl, inked in lime(even though it appears yellow!) and turquoise for its eyes.

Colour room #136
Here's my entry for this weeks colour room. It reflects my sense of humour.Erica went missing and I was looking around for her saying "Where is she?" Can you spot her?I've used Kaisercraft paper "Up and away"
Use your stuff and stars
I bought 3 star shaped paper mache baskets at Lincraft, then covered them with Christmas paper.I added a chipboard shape to each one.Inside I popped cellophane containing lollies plus a Christmas themed lollipop.
They went down a treat with 3 underpriviledged kids I visited this weekend for a pre-christmas gift giving.Hope you like them!
I spy sketches Christmas Card
Here's a Christmas card using ispy sketch for this week.It features 3 different Christmas papers plus Scrapmatts chipboard.I've misted the holly in green ,and inked the sleigh using both gold and silver inks to produce an antique effect.

Racing cars at The Lollipop Ladies
Here's the link to the lollipop ladies challenge site http://thelollipopladies.blogspot.com.au/
where this fortnight's challenge is racing cars and stripes.
Luckily I had a recent trip to Bathurst and drove around Mt Panorama!I've used a striped journalling tag plus a striped photo mat.
Here's the original lolly for you to see

Scrap the girls in Hawaii
I guess I qualify as a girl,at least I was when this photo was taken in Hawaii in 1980.
I was 26, sigh!***
This is for Scrap the girls this month where the colours are teal, orange and white.I started by painting the background with white acrylic.I couldn't resist putting the black shape in the top corner to balance my layout.I've used ribbon by Cosmo Cricket,an A2Z scraplets chipboard as my title and the 3 patterned cards are I think Pink Paislee "Soiree".I've added a crochet flower with a teal brad, pompon trim,a ticket and diecut shape for my cluster in the corner.

color throwdown 218
The colours in this challenge are some of my favourites and I've chosen this layout featuring hot air balloons and scrapmatts chipboard.
I trailed the bakers twine from brad to brad to resemble stops on a map for a journey. The chipboard hot air balloons are backed with mulberry paper then blue rhinestones were added. The ribbon across the bottom is straight,it went wonky in the scanner.

So if you love working with chipboard then head over to the Scrapmatts Ning site to get all the details and start playing! Good luck :)
Stuck?! November 2nd sketch
I've used Kaisercraft's Madame Boutique collection on this layout.Aren't the colours gorgeous?
These 3 sheets of patterned paper were also part of my Counterfeit Kit earlier this month.
I've used the 2nd sketch from Stuck?! sketches this month to highlight this simple, yet evocative photo of the "old stadium" on Rhodes,Greece. The ancient civilisations certainly had big dreams.
After layering,I misted through a Scrapmatts negative frame of daisies, then added a co-ordinating flower and a strip from the edge of the pp.I fussy cut around the big rose and overlapped it.The words dream and explore were rub-ons and I've used fundamentals petites letters, plus a Scrapmatts "The" misted in blue.My journalling tag is from the Scrap cake, but co-ordinates beautifully. There's also a strip of Kaisercraft ribbon under the title which also co-ordinated.

Happy Holly Days at A2Z scraplets
I haven't submitted a layout at A2Z scraplets in ages. However this month's sketch went perfectly with some chippy and the photo I had.
Here is the sketch and below is my interpretation on it.

Because the paper was so busy,I've kept my embellishments plain.I chose to put the title underneath the photo and used the space for journalling instead.I painted the chipboard dark green and have used washi tape as a contrast and ribbon to co-ordinate.

5 Walkers at Scrapfriends
Scrapfriends is a site where I haven't done their challenge before.I was introduced to it by Mary Bennetts.
This month's sketch involved a tear down the middle of the page, plus layering over the space.I've chosen a photo of my father and 4 siblings,There is lots of texture on this layout as the zigzag pp has a shiny 3d feel. The iron embellishment on the bottom right is velvety.I've used left over alphas as part of my layering, plus Francheville pastel stars pp has an embossed feel.My embellishments are bracket, punched butterfly and flower shape, over which I misted a 4 leaf clover shape. Finally I've added bakers twine.

Colour Throwdown
I've discovered another new blog for cardmaking named Colour Throwdown.
Luckily I haven't put away my counterfeit kit challenge yet because look what the colours are:-
I only had to find some navy. Here is my finished card.
It features lime foiled paper from the Chapter One collection plus a flower, brad and scallops. The sentiment is another SEI iron on.

Stuck?! at the swimming pool
The children were finished their swimming lessons and wrapped in towels ready to go home.
I've used blues and greens for a watery feel. The layout is straight because I've measured everything!!!
There is chevron washi tape, kaisercraft Konstrukt rub-ons,a flag made from a toothpick,Anna Griifin photo corners, free paper from Scrapbooking Memories magazine,Heidi Grace papers and embellishment and Pink Paislee Soiree card..

November Counterfeit KIts
Here is one of my favourite ranges from Kaisercraft
it is called "chapter one" and being a green/turquoise-a-holic,I simply love their range.
When choosing my range the complete range was visible at Kaisercraft's website, today it has been taken down.Hopefully you can get an idea from the above pictures.

A base sketch at Orange Paperie
Firstly, we were given a base sketch to add to however we want.
I took it literally and added black dots. This then led me to mat my photo with black. As it was the Ring of Kerry(Ireland) I found shamrock chipboard and painted it green, using the shapes for the last word and placed it on ribbon.
I've added a cluster next to my journalling box featuring a punched butterfly and part of Prima Cherry blossom stem.(We didn't see those but there were wildflowers.) The background pp is all about the seaside and I thought suitable for this picture, the darker green is equidistant around the edge.My scanner cuts the bottom off.

1,2,3 pastels wire and sweet
I'm not normally a fan of pastels but we are asked to use them for this months challenge at 1,2,3 .
It started with a fawn background and used muslin softly inked with blue around the edges as my base.On to that I've added Kaisercraft pp cut with a curved edge at the top.A wire paperclip is added there. Then I've used strips of pastel ribbon and lace across my layout plus punched butterflies. At the top left hand corner is a folded flower made from doileys and lightly misted.I've chosen pale pink for my title...sweet memories.

Window at Purple Pumpkin
Here is this month's sketch at purple Pumpkin and here is my interpretation. I thought the stain glass in the window and the mosaic pattern on the paper were a good match.I've used Purple Pumpkin twine...that is all I have of theirs now.The 2 blue flowers I made myself. The heading-Remember is SEI's new iron on words.
kraft it up and economy of papers
Firstly, here is my layout for Kraft it up this month which required minimalist and white space.Over the years my dd has bought many shiny and sparkly shoes. These photos are of one such pair.I started by misting over a Scrapmatts ornate frame. Then added the photo strip with rhinestones around. The black dots are inked chipboard, the butterfly is punched and the pp is left from other layouts done recently.
The same range of pp from kaisercraft also are used in a blind scrap for Mystical
Another one for Soul Scrappers, plus the love card. Not bad for 4 sheets of pp!

Use your stuff
Today I've been watching the Melbourne Cup race on TV and making more Christmas cards. The two above are using recycled card as it was a calendar printed on one side only.I've used Scrapmatts snowflakes with white opal liquid pearl and some Sass. lass stickers.
The next one is using a tag I'd already made, again using Scrapmatts bauble inked in gold, walnut ink and a picture, then mounting it on to a card in non-traditional colours.

Scrapmatts sewing frame
I’ve used a Scrapmatts chipboard frame painted with gesso, then silver then inked around the edges in gold to achieve a baroque look. The chandelier stamp involved 2 step stamping to also give a “shadowed baroque” look.
I then set about filling my panels with antique lace,a
copper heart charm,graphics45 paper evocative of the era,a dress model,a
tape measure and used dress pattern as my background and for the
folded flower. The antique buttons, ribbon and tiny flowers plus washi
tape tape measure and antique braid complete the picture. It has been submitted to Scrapbook CReations so now I wait and see.

Love at From Screen to scrap
The criteria for this month at From Screen to Scrap was white background, the word love and an Eiffel Tower. I'd been given this picture paper of Paris and wanted to use it as it features the Eiffel Tower so I fussy cut around the buildings then pasted it on the lower half of the layout. From there I used a curved filmstrip as a giant banner flying from the top of the tower. My photo of Joan of Arc riding into Paris was appropriate as she is up high in the street.I matted the word,Paris to look like a signpost.Hope you like my effort.
Cameo Spotlight in lime, orange and red.
I've made these 2 cards for Cameo Spotlight.
I started with Kaisercraft card in Splice and tangerine then punched butterflies from patterned paper on the left card and used Basic Grey labels and another butterfly plus Kaisercraft Esperance brads on the right hand card.Final touch was the mini lettering.
With this colourscheme they will brighten anyone's day!
