Jumpstart challenge at the scraproom.

The October jumpstart challenge at the scraproom looks like this.

 I'm using my November Counterfeit kit on this. (Shhh! don't tell anyone).
As I will be away until the 9th November, I think I'm justified in starting early.

The satin feel sun is from Flourish with a bling.

I'm making Christmas cards so here's my interpretation of that sketch.

At 4 Crafty chicks they want 3 pattern papers.

I've used Kaisercraft Peachy keen papers to make this girlfriend/fun/laughter card.
There are 3 patterned papers plus some co-ordinating washi tape.

I've made a second entry for Unstampabelles  tic tac toe challenge.

This time I've used sticker,brads and twine.

I had the gingerbread men and twine sitting on my desk. I mounted them on brown paper to simulate the actual gingerbread.
Next, I looked for a contrast green and came up with the checks. It looks like a tablecloth don't you think?

 and at Sparkles Christmas challenge the theme is cards for children.

Kids love lollies right?

My card is for Christmas. I made the tag with washi tape and alphas.

Also Merry Monday wants ornaments.


I've used a large tree branch die cut on this card plus some washi tape and alphas.

Christmas cuties & Sweet sketch Wednesday

Christmas with the cuties wants cute animals.

I've this wood veneer bird to use.
On this card there is a strange mix of colours but I think it works.
The silver sparkle behind the bird is vellum.
The enamel dots are the same colour as the ribbon.(My sentiment)

As I don't do digis I hope I still qualify. My card is taller and not square so I varied it slightly.

I've used a piece of music above the photos.

I've used a FLAIR, FOILED pennant  and FANCY PANTS PAPERS.

The layout is a re-do from when I was first scrapbooking. It features my daughter and her Dad both at 7 months of age.
The papers as I said are Fancy Pants "Happy place".
The alphas are My Minds Eye "Cosy Christmas"
The foil pennant and matching "us" circle are from the St Tropez" range by Prima.The two stars and circle are so old that I've forgotten where they came from.

My sentiment is part of the vertical stripe.

I've gone red with this card. The top part is actually vellum.
My stamp is so old I can't remember the brand.
The trimming circles are from Kaisercraft.

Cute card Thursday & Southern Girls

At Cute card Thursday they want circles.

I've used some die cuts from Kaisercraft on this card.

I can imagine some small child enjoying this card.

My second card is for Southern Girls Challenge where they want stripes.
I used a square piece of stripes on this card, some of it is under the tag.
If you count the staves of the music, there are stripes there too.

I sold 40 cards yesterday at a local café.

Li'l Red wagon

At Li'l red wagon the theme is leftovers.
I'm now using up the bits and pieces from my Counterfeit kit.
This card features 2 scraps of paper that were left over from other cards.The 2 embellishments with words were from the ephemera pack of  St Tropez.
The tan enamel dot is the last one I had of that colour.

Male Room & paper girls.

The challenge at the Male Room is to use metals.


With my St Tropez papers I was given a bag of charms.
I've chosen a copper toned corner bracket for this card.
The papers and sentiment are also from my Counterfeit kit.
I added the bingo card as an extra touch of metallic.(It too is a copper colour, scans darker)

At the  The paper girls challenge they want wood elements.
I'm focussing on Christmas cards so popped an owl into this forest of Christmas trees.
Can you spot him?

CSI

It has been a while since I did a CSI challenge.
I have about half a sheet of this Prima paper from my Counterfeit kit, so will start there.

Next, I found 2 photos taken in Vanuatu of the band at the resort and the dancers.

I've used a SOLID pink BACKGROUND with the above FLORAL.

I painted through a mask to create my texture.

The THIN STRIPES are on the tabs either side of the photo.

There are 2 PINEAPPLES.

I've embroidered LEAVES and used Prima flowers.

I used one of the tags I made for my mini kit as my TITLE featuring the word SUMMER and my hand written journaling features the Inspirational words.

Lastly, I drew a wiggly line border around my layout.

City crafter & Merry Monday

City Crafter  wants us to use mushrooms.

I've used a border of mushrooms/toadstools plus one big one as my centrepiece on this card.
I'm thinking a birthday card but it could be a thank you card as well.

I've used green tones for my card.

Let's get sketchy.

I was pleased to see my layout made a week 4 spotlight at Let's get sketchy.
It inspires you to try again when that happens.

I've used this sketch plus the last full sheet of St Tropez by Prima from my Mini kit to create this layout about my love for the sea.
I used 2 clear transparencies from the ephemera pack as well. Also I added a small sheet of copper coloured paper plus a dark blue hand made paper. There's rustic twine plus a teased out gauze bandage.(I love that look for sea layouts).I also added scallop shell brads, plus enamel dots along with background misting.
The pennant saying "beautiful" at the top is mounted on foam to make it stand up.

Card for Thanks

This is a card I made using CKC for this month.
It is not for a challenge (surprised?)
Everything on here is from my CKC mini kit

It is for thanking 2 ladies who I'm staying with in Arizona.

I leave in less than 2 weeks.

Crimbo crackers & Colour throwdown.

A new challenge involving reindeers, is at Crimbo crackers.

I've used another of those big wood veneer reindeers that I bought in January.

He looks so happy and festive!

Now at Colour throwdown I was tempted by the fox.


I have some left over fox labels so made this card using them.
The background appears golden but it is actually a peach colour.

Merry Monday & Allsorts

Deanne's challenge is to add a Christmas tree to your card.
In my case there was one already printed on the paper but I have decorated it and provided a sentiment.

Allsorts want trees so it is applicable there too

Kraft Plus

The challenge at Kraft plus is to use something clear on your layout.

 

I've used the Prima St Tropez range plus other items from my Counterfeit kit like gauze bandage and twine to create a scene based around this reflective photo from Cairns pier.
The clear items are the Sunshine, ampersand and the lifebuoy at the end of the twine. Their is also a tiny " love" near the shiny blue pier flag.

Sketchy Saturday & Just add ink

Here's the sketch at Sketchy Saturday.
I've used vintage lace plus Kaiser "Collectables" on this card.

Over at Just add ink I found this sketch.

I've used some chiffon ribbon on this card and lightly used pinecone ink (how appropriate!) around the top of the tag. I really like the way this one turned out.

Rochelle Spears and Challenge YOUrself

I've used the Peachy Keen range from Kaisercraft again to make this layout.
It was fun using rub ons again.

My photo was taken at Floriade in Canberra last week.
Here are the 2 sculptures.(Avocadoes, pears?) made from wood.

I stood between them.

Here's my layout. The border goes right around the bottom too.

I'm also entering at Challenge Yourself where the theme is Autumn colours.
