No luck with Scrapbooking memories/Creating Keepsakes and a loud silence from Scrapbook Creations.I wonder why I bother submitting sometimes.
On a good note, my daughter has anew job in canberra so now I guess there will be moving house etc to organise. At least she is earning some cash at last.

Stretched sideways
I've just been over to Puzzle sketches blog to see if they'd uploaded my layout(they haven't). While there I checked my pic was in the followers section. It is the same picture as on this blog, the one of me with Erica at her graduation. They way it is loaded there it is stretched sideways. We both look like candidates for biggest loser-I'm still laughing!

Puzzle sketch for February
This close up of Erica's make up was taken when she recently attended a fancy dress party as the queen of hearts(tarts?). The challenge required 3 widths of paper, a heart,a flower and a dressmakers pin. I started with the red lace and the gold heart and went from there.I named this layout bold as there is nothing shy about my daughter!
I love the way basic Grey papers match just about anything. The background of this floral paper was orange but with red flowers so the cardstock "pulled" the red out of the image.

Friday 13th ...ooooooh!
There's a blind scrapping at Purplescraps tonight.I'm looking forward to doing it.
Also I think I won a $10 voucher on mad about scrapping and have been over there to look at the products available. There are some yummy kaiser wooden flourishes.

White with white on white with one,
I went back to a technique that I actually had published in 2004 in Scrapbook Creations. It is a rolled frame which is done by wetting the cardstock then cutting out the frame and curling both the backing and the front over.As it was white on what it needed texture. Many of the other contenders used flowers or lace(which I also used),but I opted for something different. I kept the layout streamlined as it is a heritage layout. It was difficult to scan as it is 3D so Iphotographed it.

Rejected yet again.
I missed out on the design team on mad about scrapping.
One of my dearest wishes is to be chosen for a design team...I've done everything else in the scrapbooking world.I've taught classes, attended retreats, joined forums and participated in get-togethers,swaps etc, I've been published several times. My style is too simple and streamlined for today's market I guess.Although I admire the work of those who can throw everything at a layout and make it look good, such as Maxine Hazelbroek, I know that is not my style. I still believe the photo is the main item on a layout.
Oh well onward we go.

Cybercrop on mad about scrapping
Here are 3 layouts I did for the Mad about scrapping challenge. The first one,two loves features a transparency overlay,it was for a sketch.I don't normally like pink but this darker pink colour really worked and matched my dress in the photo.
The second I used Basic Grey rubon letters.Very swirly girly.
The third features a rare sight-my daughter smiling.(LOL). Her personality when she smiles completely changes and shows how attractive she really is.
Bushfires
Watching the devestation on TV made me realise how fortunate I am to live in a big city away from the bushfires(although we did have some in the bushier suburbs nearby a few years ago).My heart goes out to those poor families affected by these fires.I saw one young boy carrying photo albums and it made me think about what to take if it happened. First would be the family, then my photos.Other material posessions aren't that important really.
