At the Paper players there is this sketch
I'm currently making baby cards so used this idea on my card. It is suitable for those who don't know what sex the baby is or for grandparents etc.
The sentiment says " I wish for you "
At the Paper players there is this sketch
The Male room wants cards featuring
I made a card using an owl (fussy cut) then used a corner of a different paper to resemble the moon.
This would be a good birthday card for a male of any age I think.
Today I have used some really old scrapbooking paper and new ribbon.
I made 2 of these cards exactly the same, to enter at Creative Inspirations and Li'l red wagon
They are bright and colourful and I'm sure will be well received.
This is now also entered at Seize the birthday . "Anything goes"
The criteria for this one was doodling around the edge ;3 bows and 2 stamps.
I only had patterned paper with watermelons and ice creams, so I added some formal looking paper white with silver. The big pink flowers were stamped then fussy cut. I did a simple loopy doodling around the edge. The big pink bow came off an Easter egg, I think.
My memory of that day in 1966 are dim. Us kids ran around the back yard where the wedding was held then scoffed down watermelon because it was such a hot day. My cousin Jann, the bride, sailed away to USA by ship. It was the first cruise I had ever heard of, so I remember that fact.
I'm entering this card at L'il red wagon where the theme is sea related.
I used the sketch from Sketch 'n' scrap on Facebook.
All papers on here are from my January Counterfeit kit. Many of my friends go on cruises so this will be given to one of them.
At Lasting memories, they want us to create a title page for an album.
Years ago, I went to Europe which ended up being 7 weeks and nearly 1100 photos. I still haven't scrapbooked them all, and probably never will. I left doing the title page until last because I wasn't sure what I wanted.
I found the filmstrip and used smaller photos in it with highlights of the places we visited. Otherwise, there's washi tapes, a slide mount, ribbon, a list, plus my title which I think sums it up.
I wanted to use the paper with thongs (flip flops) on it, so I found a suitable backing paper and also used 2 6x6 papers as my mats. The kraft card behind the title is cut from packaging and the title plus journaling are 2 journal cards. All this is from my kit.
Here's another layout for the Mystical cyber crop. We had to use and inked backgroun, 2 torn papers and 3 circles.
Using white background I inked through an old doiley with pinecone ink.
My torn papers down the left-hand side are both from my kit. The 2 hibiscus flowers were cut from a used birthday card. I'm pleased to have used the summer escape card, the beach bum card and the aloha word. My other 2 circles are vintage buttons.
I tore the swimming paper and inked the edge in lilac. I added 2 lots of ribbon from my kit.
I then became confused and added 3 arrows as well as tiny dots from the pink sparkly alphas.
Oh well I have used the wave paper plus the swimming paper from my kit. ;)
This is the layout sketch for sketch 'n'scrap.
I used papers from my kit to make a Christmas (gift) layout. A couple of the cut aparts worked as subtitles. I used a border sticker and the cork triangles from my kit as well.
At Lasting Memories they want firsts.
I've tried to think of a first, so went back a few years to a Christmas outing. My nephew is pictured here with his newly arrived daughter.
She was about 3 months old. Her first Christmas!
I used white cardboard as my background then layered a few papers and a fancy edged envelope. The envelope has string and 2 circles that the string winds around. (eyelet thingys)
There are also 2 different sets of alphas and a cute cork tab on the left.
Today I made a layout using scraps and offcuts from my Counterfeit Kit.
I layered them from the bottom up in order of size (roughly), with the shortest at the top. I then mounted my photo on floral paper, so it stood out.
I'm also pleased that I used a journal tag from my kit, they mount up.
I have also used a pink flourish with a bling from my kit plus a sticker tag. My alphas are also pink and glittery but provide enough contrast to be seen. There were some glittery flowers in the alphas set to match, so I used those too.
Another requirement for this is to use something from your stash more than one year old. The vellum is about 7 years old. Despite it being very pink, I'm happy with it.
And to go with it I scrapped a second page for the GOALS challenge.
G=glasses
O=overlapping
A=arrow
L=lace
S=sticker journal space.
Now I stitched them so you can see the double.
One of the things I haven't done over the past few years is use cardstock as my background. This bright yellow was ideal for me to put the florals and busy papers I use on the circles. It was a reasonably simple layout which I enjoyed making.
Next, I made this layout
Scrap our stash has this sketch. We must also include 3 different patterned papers and 3 different embellishments.
I've started with my background paper which is a forgery in my kit. My photo is from a "get together" I had with former neighbours from childhood. We get together about once a year.
I've used 3 different green papers which are all 6x6 and cut to size. The big strip down the centre was from a kit covering a book. I didn't use it so put some of it on here. It is a bright contrast.
The tabs are cut from a gingham tag, also in my Counterfeit kit this month.
My 3 different embellishments are the pink asterisk that matches the title, the black telephone on left hand side and the yellow person on the bottom. You could also count the 3 wood veneer arrows.
At this point I discovered a second challenge, At Mystical Scrapbooks Louise wants 1 bright colour, two-word title and 3 arrows. This also qualifies for that, so I'm combining.
Childhood friends
My 2nd layout this month is for Mystical scrapbooks
Therese's challenge is 1 title, 2 photos, 3 patterned papers.
I used 2 photos exactly the same plus a fairly neutral paper frpm my kit plus abusy one with brown circles. It matched the bubbles in the tea squishy. The 3rd paper is the yellow behind the photos.
I also added black cardstock that has been embossed, white lacy edging and a black tassel as my feature.
I used some of the items from my January kit on here. Pink vellum, cream embossed and the background pink floral plus I also used pink and white striped ribbon top and bottom of the photos.
My 2 items of bling are blue rhinestones in a circular shape on top of the tabs plus tiny white pearls in a row. The photos were taken from a video made of her when she was a baby,36 years ago. Slightly out of focus but very precious.
