Krafty Chicks

Last 2 Christmas cards for this year. Actually, I have run out of Christmas scrapbooking paper completely.

That is saying something because I had quite a pile!

My first card is for Krafty Chicks challenge where anything goes.

My next one is using a similar design but in pink tones. Not for a challenge!

So, end of the month and end of the paper!

Tic tac toe and Daring Cardmakers Challenges.

My last card challenge reminded me of Tic Tac toe challenge where there is the above grid.

Here in Australia, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving or Halloween, so I made a Thank You card.

I went across the top row so Thank you (done with a mix of letters), embossing and stitching.

Sometimes at Christmas someone gives you a gift you're not expecting or asks you to join in their festivities. This card would suit that situation.

*****************************************************************************

My next card is for Daring Cardmakers

They want animals dressed up to keep warm. It happened that I had an old card with 2 mice on the front wearing jumpers. I carefully cut around the picture and recycled it on this card.

Again, I think of a child receiving this as it is so cute.

Paper players.

At Paper players there is a tic tac toe.

I've gone across the middle row so Masculine, texture and Embellishments.

I used hessian, which gives it a masculine feel, plus the sentiment circle has a wood toned background.

I was pleased to use 2 random embellishments on here, The tree above the circle is a cupcake topper and the green triangle is random chipboard I found.

A gem of a challenge

This card is for A gem of a challenge where Anything goes.

Another Christmas card using some small pieces up.

Paper craft crew

At Paper craft crew they have this sketch

Still working on slimline cards, I came up with this.

I confess I recycled the wreath from an old Christmas card (Save the planet and all that!)
It will still sell to somebody and raise money for Medical research.

Li'l red wagon

Li'l red wagon asks us to use ribbon.

I have a few reels of Christmas ribbon here so used some on this card.

It looks festive with the red background.

And while I had those papers out here's one for Freshly made sketches

I was pleased to use those candy cane stickers on here.

Tuesday Morning sketches and Outlawz challenge.

I'm having a break from tall slim cards so have cut a normal shaped card.

At Tuesday morning sketches they have this.
I found an oval Christmas picture of 2 robins on a branch to use.

I used tartan ribbon, white washi tape plus a strip of striped metallic card.

                                                   ***********************************

At the Outlawz challenge we have to use the letter G.

I used Greetings as my sentiment on this Christmas card. The snowmen called for a touch of frosty bling, so I added 5 blue rhinestones around the sentiment.

******************************************************************************
Christmas cards all year round  wants winter sports.
This one tricked me for a while then I looked closer at the blue paper.
One the centre of this card are 3 dogs on a sled and the one next to then with long scarf was skating.

Hopefully that's enough to count!
I've used a wide scrap of ribbon across the top and fussy cut out the words.

Make the cards and Christmas with the cuties.

I'm adding a card to the challenge named Make the cards #66

There's blue ric rac behind the sentiment but it can barely be seen. I've added 2 tabs.

                                                             **************************

At Christmas with the cuties, they want Christmas food.

I searched right through my Christmas stash and found one red and white lolly!

They're called pinwheels so that will be my Christmas food. (I've used my gingerbread men previously.)

My sentiment tones with the background paper so at least the pinwheel stand out. I'm sure this card will appeal to children.

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge

Over at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge they have asked us to add a flower.

I fussy cut 2 pointsettias from an old Christmas card and added near the ribbon this card.

That particular paper is all used now, as is the lime green ribbon.

I also added it to Word art Wednesday.

Use your stuff and Double trouble.

I've cut into another sheet of Christmas paper and now there's 2 more to go.

This challenge is for Use your stuff where I was a team member for a few years. I gave up because of time constraints mainly. Too much to do too many design teams. Anyway, their challenge this time is to use die cuts

I'm making a few Happy New Year cards as I have a couple of friends who don't celebrate Christmas.

The word YEAR is a die cut.

*************************************************************************************

Now on to Double Trouble.

I'm just doing the first challenge which is to include at least one circle.

I've used 2 silver circles on here.

ABC Christmas challenge

At ABC Christmas challenge they had U for unusual and V for Velvet.

I've already done the U for unusual, but this morning remembered I had some maroon velvet ribbon.

While tying the velvet bow, I suddenly remembered I had red flocked paper Lush from My mind's Eye.

I've never been able to come up with an idea to use it, but Christmas card works!

I made a tag using a darkroom door picture and a strip of kaisercraft paper.

I added the velvet tag.

Again, it has no sentiment. I like it the way it is.

3 challenges with one card

Creative Fingers Challenge Blog has anything goes and Outlawz Challenge has anything Christmas goes.

I'm now using the very bright and colourful checked red and green paper. I started with a bow; then I have used another rectangle of handmade paper on here plus the last 2 candy canes. I've chosen not to put a sentiment on this one.

Send a smile for kids asked for festive cards too. This suits small children.

Addicted to CAS and Fairy and Unicorn.

At Addicted to CAS there is a layering challenge.

I've layered vellum, patterned paper then 2 pictures from Darkroom Door filmstrips on this card. I added a Christmas tab to the side and a tiny sentiment saying WISH. The rest of the tall card is plain so there is plenty of neutral space.

Fairy and Unicorn want anything fantasy. There are 2 pictures of Santa Claus on here, so I think it qualifies.

Tuesday Morning Sketches and Christmas card throwdown

I'm still working on that pink paper. This time I have teamed it with purple to make a Christmas card for Tuesday morning sketches.

As I'm making slimline tall cards my circle is smaller, but still recognizable as the sketch.

I've used an Autumn Lane flower on this one plus Kaisercraft pearls.

                                                     ***************************

Christmas card throwdown has a tic tac toe challenge.

I decided to go down the right-hand column.
I started with green corrugated card then embossed green handmade paper with Swiss dots in my Cuttle bug. The Santa was fussy cut from an old Christmas card, and he is Australian version, sitting on a beach with no shoes. It will go down well here in Oz.

Colour Throwdown

I'm having a break from Christmas cards this morning, so I made a card for Colour Throwdown.

Here's the colour requirement.

It is mainly an orange card, but the green and white strips break it up I think, and the sentiment is fun.

Fab and Funky and Holly and Ivy challenge

At Fab and Funky challenges they have a seasonal challenge.

I'm using more of the pink reindeer paper on this card also, along with 2 lots of ribbon one overlaying the other.

I'm also adding this at the Holly and the Ivy challenge

Freshly made sketches.

This is a slimline Christmas card for a little girl.

I used pink background paper with reindeers on it. The squares are pink spots with mauve lace across. My sentiment just says love and is brown.

I'm also entering it at ABC Christmas challenge where it is U for unusual Christmas colours.

Sketch 'n'scrap card.

I'm starting off this morning with a sketch from Sketch 'n'scrap.

Still on slimline Christmas cards and the Christmas kit I made from Lisa and Lori; I used the border strip across the middle and vellum on the bottom.

I'm happy with this one. It looks colourful and Christmassy.

Thursday, 20 October 2022

Lí'l red wagon.

At Li'l red wagon they have a spots or stripes challenge.

I'm making Christmas cards so used spotted paper at the top of my card then added candy canes with stripes across the join.

It is a fun bright card which would appeal to children.

Wednesday, 19 October 2022

Crafty Animals plus other Christmas cards.

At Crafty Animals they want animals on a card with Anything goes.

I've used Christmas paper featuring birds (robins I think), and 3 blue sparklets with red ribbon.

I also made these cards this morning. AS yet no challenges for these except more items used from my Lori and Lisa kit. The ribbon, washi tape, candy canes and sparklets are all used now.

Sketches in Thyme #537

Here's the latest sketch at Sketches in Thyme so here's my interpretation.

I fussy cut some of the flowers around the photos.

Scraproom throwback sketch

At The Scraproom on facebook there was a throwback sketch.

I had fun doing this one as the roosters lent themselves to bright colours.

The rust colour was handmade paper so I left the edge rough on purpose to match the crowns on the roosters. The sketch called for the arrow but I decided to wind twine around it for extra texture.

The 2 Basic Grey colourful brads were perfect tones on here.

The scrap room TREAT challenge.

We had to use the letter in the word TREAT on this layout.

I've used T=time R=red ribbon E= enamel dots A=adventure T=tag.

I had fun with this one as the Kraft background was neutral, so no worries about matching papers etc.

The title is a label someone had on their travel bag and we got a laugh out of it. I just had to take a photo and use it somewhere. The main photo is at a Progressive dinner on our trip and again we were laughing at something somebody said.

Most of it is from this month's counterfeit kit except the red. I even stamped!

I'm also entering it at Kraft plus again. It qualifies for left to right diagonal:

Stamping, photos and ribbon.
