Library challenge and Paper players

The library challenge has "all creatures great and small".
All Creatures Great and Small: The Classic Memoirs of a Yorkshire Country Vet (James Herriot 1) By James Herriot | World of Books

I've had a wooden fox in my stash for ages, and also some matching washi tape.
Using plain white background, I added these and a sticker saying WOW.
Hope you like it!

The paper players has this sketch

I've used blue cardstock as my background ,then fussy cut some flowers which I used in 2 different sizes as my vertical and horizontals.
I had a watering can button so sewed it on the card at the junction.
My sentiment says Delightful which could be used for a birthday etc.

Li'l red wagon and Make my Monday challenge

At Li'l red wagon they are having a floral theme this week.

I'm using a paper from my May Counterfeit Kit to make this.(Shh! don't tell anyone)
It features a wide band of flowers across the top plus a circle of hearts and I added striped washi tape and 2 PINK enamel dots. (They look white on the scan)
I'll probably add this to the Mother's Day box.

Next, at Make my Monday challenges they want anything with wings.

Digging into my butterfly bag I found these 2 Kaisercraft butterflies. I had to join the pattern paper in the middle so used ribbon to cover the join then a butterfly either side.
I hope it doesn't look like butterfly pole dancers! (LOL)

More than words

Image may contain: text
I've made a card for the above mini challenge at More than words.
Baby cards always are needed and I seem to always run short of girl cards.
Here's my effort.

As you like it

My last card for this morning and I'm joining in at As you like it challenge

I have some bright Barbie pink satin ribbon from when my daughter did Physical culture.
It is slowly being used up and I put some on this card.
I can imagine a little girl giving this to her Nan.

It is even more bright in reality!

Die cutting Divas plus others.

Die cutting Divas is celebrating Red Hat Society day.
We are asked to use red and purple plus of course die cuts.

I found in my stash some die cut tags. They were in a sheet and you push them out of the background. I guess that qualifies as a diecut.

I've layered again, using the other red foil chocolate wrapper plus the tag and a border strip from Sassafrass Lass featuring hearts.

I'm also entering it at Seize the birthday where they want texture. The embossed background plus the shiny foil makes you want to touch it.

***********************************************************
My next card is for Cute card Thursday where I used a cardboard tassel from a perfume packaging.
I attached it with a large pink brad then added tiny rhinestones on the embossed background.
I hope you like it.

Pile it on and mod squad

Mod squad challenge has stars as their theme.
Pile it on wants use to use layers and scraps.
Through the craft room door has anything goes.

With that in mind I constructed this card using all scraps and lots of layers.
I even used a round foil patty pan from a chocolate I was given.

Hope you like it!

Smash book from holiday

I recently had a holiday in New Zealand. I kept a smash book instead of a diary.
Here are a couple of p[ages to show you.
It is eclectic as I used brochures cut up, scrapbooking words and in some cases sketches.

It had 8 pages in total and is an accordian album I made. See this post for cover.

Feeling sketchy & Daisy chain

Here's the new sketch at Feeling Sketchy plus a chance to use some fabric scraps.

I had a small scrap of lace from a dress Mum made years ago.
I adhered it to the background then used 2 blue rhinestone flowers plus a rhinestone crown.
My sentiment has been stamped and the circle cut out.

It is yet another Mothers Day card, they're selling like hot cakes!

My next card is for Daisy chain Challenges where they want feminine cards. The above card could apply but I'm using this card for a Nan.
The 2 overlapping tags are from Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess range

Freshly made sketches.

Freshly Made sketches has this design.

I'm using up the bits and pieces from "Chapter One" by Kaisercraft that I still have, so made this card.
It could be used for almost any occasion.

Case this sketch and as you like it.

At Case this sketch here is their latest challenge.

I've made a pair of motivational cards, the first one is for this challenge.
I've used my favourite range of Kaisercraft papers, "Chapter One".

Next is a card for As you like it challenges, where they want our favourite animal and why.

I've always loved pandas as they look so cuddly.I can recall watching them at London zoo many years ago. A friend recently came back from China and brought me these hand cut paper pandas.
I used one on this card and the sentiment "Laugh".

Let's create and Mod squad.

My friend's mother turns 90 in June so I made her a special card containing a butterfly.

I punched all the flowers and collated them for the garland.
The butterfly and sentiment were cut from another recycled birthday card.
The grey marbled backing is from an embellishment packaging. (recycling)
I hand drew the antennas, then glued a variety of tiny rhinestones on to the card to show the butterfly's trail.

I'm entering it at Let's create challenge where they want butterflies.
I'm also entering at Frilly and Funky where they want repurpose, recycle.

***********************************************************************
Next is my card for Mod squad challenges where they want 3 of something.

I started with a spotted paper then a layer of handmade paper covered in net.
Next I cut 3 rectangles of corrugated card and arranged these as shown.
The silver stars and watering can came in a packet with the bows and flowers already on them.
My sentiments were cut from 12x12 paper featuring various words.

Simon says stamp.

At Simon says stamp Monday challenge, it was back to childhood for me.The theme is on the farm.
I started by fussy cutting a horse from an old picture dictionary.
Next, I chose 2 brown toned papers to create my background.
Because of a split I used clouds to cover the gap.
Next I stamped a tree.
I coloured it in which is unusual for me as I don't normally colour images on cards.
I added the horse and my sentiment. It will be a Father's Day card.

******************************************************************************

At Simon says stamp Wednesday challenge we are asked to use no patterned paper.
This made me step outside my comfort zone.
I used a roller to apply mist through a mask and create a dotty effect for my background.
I put a strip of washi tape across the top.

Next, I stamped Super Mum using a baker's stamp.
When that had dried I adhered it to the card, then added blue rhinestone flowers around the circle.
There were 2 left over so I scattered them on my card.
This will obviously be a Mothers Day card.

Always fun and card concept.

I had this small envelope from our local jewellers and decided not to waste it.
I've used mixed media to decorate it stamping, mists dribbled on it, fussy cut flowers plus vellum circles, washi tape and gold braid.
I then backed it on to floral paper and used the sentiment "Thank you".

The envelope would be a good size for a gift voucher.

I'm entering it at Always fun challenges =flowers
Card concept = cottage floral based on this picture.

Mojo Monday 513 plus others.

This is the new sketch at Mojo Monday

I started with a busy olive green paper plus a neutral paper.
Across the middle I used a strip of black.
On the top layer I used another neutral with a swirl pattern then faux stitched in black around the edges.
I used a sticker for my sentiment plus a bee tile which added a finishing touch.

I'm putting it in with the Easter cards but it could be anything.
********************************************************************************

My next card is for 2 challenges,

The requirements there are to use woodgrain plus a forest animal.

It also works at Use your stuff where the fauna is the squirrel and the flora is the pine cone and acorn.
Make my Monday wants something humorous. I've added it there too.

April mini kit

Here is the kit for April.
https://www.hipkitclub.net/march-2019-main-kit

I've selected a very small aspect of this kit and chosen the yellow floral paper plus the black and white spots and stripes. I've co-ordinated everything to match in with those 2

Here's my papers.

and my co-ordinating embellishments.

I managed to make 2 layouts from this bundle and discovered some pink spots on the other side of the floral so have used it as well.
Both are photos from Mum and Dad's honeymoon in 1942.

Scraplift for Paper issues

Secret Garden layout Graphic 45 Tara Orr

This wonderful layout is by Tara Orr on Graphic 45 website
There is a colour challenge on Paper Issues

I've chosen papers from my stash that closely match those colours and made this layout.

The flowers are from D-lish scraps and the enamel dots are from Flutterby creations.
I took the photo of a Pre-Raphaelite woman painting at an art show at the National Gallery.
It is by John Roddam Spencer and named "Thoughts of the past"
Not sure of a title yet but on the other hand I like it without.

Case this sketch.and CASology.

Case this sketch has a sketch that appealed to me.

I've used a basic background and strip across then made a feature of the central part by using a Graphic 45 tag featuring a vintage woman.
My card will be a Mothers Day card but I had 2 sentiments left saying "love" so used those either side.

Meanwhile at Casology the word is BURST.
I immediately thought of balloons.
I found 4 on a free sheet of birthday pictures that came in a magazine.
After fussy cutting them I thought of the word "POP". My finished card will go into the Male birthday box for a special grandfather.

Feeling sketchy and freshly made sketches

Here's the sketch at Feeling sketchy.
I've chosen an Easter colour palette with a chipboard centrepiece.

Next we have Freshly made sketches

I've made a thank you card for this one, using the same background paper but put a different spin on it.

Krafty chicks challenge

The challenge at Crafty chicks is coffee, tea, hot cocoa.
My drink of choice is tea.
A friend asked me to make a card for her niece's kitchen tea.
I cut a teapot shaped card with the join at the top. Here it is!

I've used lots of pearls plus a graphic 45 tag and brad.
My card went down well apparently.

Sketch Saturday and Li'l red wagon.

At Sketch Saturday they've asked us to use any previous sketch. I've opted for this one.
I used it once before and liked the design. I've chosen red white and blue as my colour scheme.

I also turned the card on its side.

My next card is for Li'l red wagon where they want something that hops.
In my case it is a bunny.
I chose 2 pastel backgrounds and hand drew and cut out the bunny.
I thought the spotted paper looked a bit like Easter eggs.(wrong shape though.)

I'm pleased to see my washi tape rocket fins led to a win on the site last week. Thank you ladies!
