Mojo Monday 343 Tall and skinny

The sketch at Mojo Monday 343 is for a tall skinny card.
I've gone with a yellow and black colour scheme.
I stamped the Kaisercraft empty birdcage then used it as my main focus. The other 3 patterned papers were scraps that I had.
My final touch is the washi tape to go across where the flower strip is on the sketch.
I hope you like it!

City crafters blogspot

I've discovered another new blog named City Crafters. Here is their link.http://citycrafter.blogspot.com.au/

This time the challenge was to use paint.
I cut 3 tags in lemon, orange and red then I used these 2 coloured paint:
Lime and sea breeze.

I watered it down, then using a fine paintbrush I flicked it across the tags.
I rather like the mottled effect the 2 colours created.
Coloured ribbons were attached.

On the lemon tag I have lightly stamped a bird and bird house.

Suzy Bee's bloomin' challenge plus more Paradiso cards

I've made some more cards using the Paradiso collection from Kaisercraft.
My wings is the parrot on the top left.

Freshly Made sketches #133 and Crafty hands Devon

Freshly made sketches has this card sketch, which appealed to me.

When I was on Scrapmatts DT I made a set of AST cards featuring kitchen implements.
I've been able to use one on this card. It has a 1950s look ,don't you think?

The yellow strip was cut from the bottom of a MME paper last month.

Next I've made this card for Crafty hands devon where the theme is travel.
I've used Kaisercraft Paradiso collection .

CASual Fridays

The challenge at http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.ca/ is to use one third of the card and put 3 things the same on that third.

Here's my card using wonderful embossed cardstock, 3 MEMORY MAZE birds and 3 lots of Bella bling.
This will be a birthday card for a religious friend in early May.

Let's get shabby

The theme at "let's get shabby" is maps.

As our May Counterfeit kit features maps as one of their elements, I was already prepared.

My layout is of dancers at the Moulin Rouge in Paris and yes I did take that photo.

There is muslin background, 2 skeleton leaves, small pearls strand which I sewed on, a dyed doiley from Tattered Inspirations and a small white rose

With some close ups of the Memory Maze corset with pink beads glued on and the diamente under the map.
The gathered lace from Tattered Inspirations with flowers, music and 2 hatpins featuring more of those beads.
.

Our Beautiful World

4 crafty chicks

http://4craftychicks.blogspot.com.au/ are a weekly challenge blog.
This week's criteria is embossing.
It could be wet or dry.

I've chosen wet. I started by embossing a Memory Maze corset.
As my daughter's 3 favourite colours are black, red and purple, I made it with her in mind.

It has ended up being a 3D collage using flocked border, washi tape, thread, a heart brad and a picture I cut from a business card.

I had some inspiration from this card which I found on 2peas over a year ago.

2 more cards

This is the time of the month when I get stuck into card challenges and use remaining scraps of patterned paper from my Counterfeit Kit.

My first gift card sized one is for Avenue 613 where the theme is sweets or candy
I can imagine this stapled to a bag of lollies or chocolates. Aren't those sweet brads cute?

Next one is for Unscripted Sketches
US_sketch253 and here is my take on that sketch

Jingle Belles & Shopping our stash.

Jingle Belles  and Shopping our stash are also upcycling because of Earth Day.
I began with some packaging
I inked the Melissa Francis shaped piece with sage green and after cutting the bigger one to size inked around it with pinecone ink. I also used a page from an old paperback as another layer.
The flower was cut from a scrap of felt in my mother's sewing box and some scraps of tulle.
I stitched a red button to hold the layers together.

Next, I pulled a canvas apart, that I made for a DT a few years ago.
The fern leaves have been recycled on this card.
I added washi tape and a rub on.

And here you have a festive card made almost from recycling.

Rubys rainbow and Ladies

In my Counterfeit Kit this month was a Project life page with lots of little pictures. Some of the pictures were 1950s ladies.
For Ruby's Rainbow I've created a tag using one of the pictures plus some Lolly brads, stamping, misting and mini letters.

Upcycling again for mojo monday #342

I started with a Basic Grey package. Across it I used 2 strips of washi tape.

Then I added a paint chip from the hardware store.
I finished it with patterned paper and a small calendar page saying November and a stamped "stamp" image.
A chipboard corset which has been inked to match and decorated with rhinestones.
My daughter's birthday is in November so she may end up with this card.

Here is the Mojo Sketch

Upcycling at Card Makin Mamas

I'm always saving bits to use on cards or layouts.

Like these 3 package pieces for example.

I added some left over numbers from a set to the Bella Bling packet.
Then after dabbing it dry, created this card using all 3 packages plus a flower and rub on.

CSI Case number 119

The challenge at CSI was fun.

I've used quite a few requirements from the evidence column including map paper and flair button, floral pattern, buckle, tags, metal and something clear,

and the testimony...... scatter my story, something that makes you laugh.

Crafty Hazelnuts

I've had a very productive Easter Sunday afternoon.
Here is a card that I've made for Crafty Hazelnuts
The theme is anything goes.
I've had this bag of punched flowers for maybe 3 years.
I've gone with the central heart idea again and surrounded them with flowers.
Double layering means the smaller flowers stand up slightly.
I balanced it with a 3rd rub on heart in the top left corner.

And coming up soon National Scrapbooking Day!
Corrected Promotional photo...feel free to post to your blogs and other sites starting tomorrow!

Shopping our stash-Numbers

At shopping our stash this week the challenge is numbers.
I've used some typewriter key numbers that I have had for ages, in fact years.

The background is the same as the previous card.
I've applied rub on hearts (from Valentine's day) then placed the keys in an even oval around the hearts.
The final touch is white washi tape with black writing which matches the theme of this card.
I've trimmed off the excess piece at the end of the washi tape on the bottom to tidy it up.

Color throwdown #288

This palette at Color Throwdown appealed to me.
Friends are going off soon trekking in Nepal so I made them this card.
I started by inking using hot pink through a chevron mask.
Then I placed my grey sentiment.
Around it I have placed 3 items: a dusty attic flower,a Tattered inspirations moustache flair and a layering of scraps in the correct colour scheme.

Sketchnscrap layout challenge

This is the sketch for layouts on sketchnscrap

I had 3 photos of a statue of David which was near the pool where I was recently on holidays.
As it was mid week, there were very few people about, so I used to look at David & wish I could talk to him.(sad eh???)

I've put my sense of humour into this in my title

and a couple of close ups

Sketchnscrap card challenge

Card Sketches due April 30th

http://sketchnscrap.blogspot.fr/ are having a  challenge for the above sketch.
Although I've used all my papers from my Counterfeit Kit, this large flower was there.
I made this card using it plus a Carolee creation rub on which says
Winter is an etching, spring is a watercolour
summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of all of them.

View from the top

I made this layout at the retreat last weekend and had a chipboard title that says "View from the top"...................of course I lost it!!

Therese are views of/from the Eiffel Tower.I used a stamp of it that I had, plus some other chipboard flowers, bird and tag.(Teresa Collins I think).
The vellum pocket was sent to me this week by a scrapping friend.
