Mod squad challenge and sisterhood of crafters..

TROPICAL
This card is for Mod squad challenge where we must use a flower on our card.
I used the negative from a punched flower with a brad centre and added a cute butterfly near the top.
I layered papers to match the butterfly and flower.

And while I'm in the tropics here's another card for the sisterhood of crafters

We have to make a card using our favourite colour. Mine is green.

My alphas are being used up hence the variation between the colours there.

I'm ploughing through my tropical Counterfeit Kit with 32 papers and I'm enjoying the summery colours.

Fusion card challenge.

This is card challenge at Fusion.
 I've been inspired by the photo on the right and have made a card for Father's Day.
The 2 tags are from my TROPICAL Counterfeit kit as is the cactus.
I used pinking shears around the plain green paper to make it more spikey.

Challenge #1 Forget me knot.

This is a making memories distressing tool.

You run the paper through the V shape and it roughens up the edges to "distress" the paper.

I also have versa pinecone ink which goes hand in hand with the above.

Coupled together these 2 items give layouts the "aged" look.

A little while ago a friend and I went to the Australian National Museum.

There they have Australian inventions that changed our lives ,such as Ned Kelly's armour,hills hoist clothes line etc.

In this picture on the right hand side, you can make out an early aeroplane.

It is the Southern Cross 

Southern Cross is the name of the Fokker F.VIIb/3m trimotor monoplane that in 1928 was flown by Australian aviator Charles Kingsford Smith, Charles Ulm, Harry Lyon and James Warner in the first-ever trans-Pacific flight to Australia from the mainland United States, a distance of about 11,670 kilometres. 

It is the subject of my layout.

I made my background by using pinecone ink through chicken wire mask.

Next I layered scraps of heritage -looking papers which I distressed and inked.I also flicked gold mist drops on my background.

The old brads are rom my father's garage and might be nearly as old as the plane.(repurposed)

I tied string between the brads to form a partial border.

The large clock was fussy cut from one of the papers in my kit.

Challenge YOUrself

I'm combining 2 challenges on this layout. Firstly Challenge yourself and Rochelle Spears sketch challenge.
The theme is take me to the ocean, so I used my TROPICAL kit
The photos show us looking at the window in the glass bottomed boat and that's me in the apricot coloured top. My title is The sea calls to me ,which is written on the card near the button.
I used striped pattern paper on the right hand circle.

Scrap Room Freaky fast formula.

PRIMARY
At the Scrap Room they have this freaky fast formula



I've used my Primary colours kit, in this case all Bella Fusion papers to construct this layout.
I kept it simple because of the strong colour tones and as I had no E's, I used the airline abbreviation for Sydney.

PRIMARY
My next card is for pause dream enjoy where they want us to use scallops.

I found a pinched border strip in red and used the reverse side of red chevron paper from my kit.
Because of the floral aspect, I used the sentiment GROW, which will work with a plant I plan to give a friend in a new home very soon.

Next I have a card for Sunny Day Crafting where we are asked to use any animal,in my case it is a toucan.
