Lasting Memories and Daring Cardmakers.

At Lasting Memories they have a colour challenge featuring this colour palette.

Looking through my multi coloured papers I found a striped one with every colour here except yellow,so yellow became my mat.

My 2 photos are from the enlighten festival in March this year in Canberra.

                                               *********************************

I've also made this card for Daring cardmakers where they want Tropical with an animal.

I've included the flamingo.

Li'l red wagon

The challenge at Li'l red wagon is transport.

On my card I've used an old stamp I've had for decades ,featuring a boy riding a bike. I managed to fit 2 on here. It is always better riding your bike with a friend.

I also added a bright sentiment and a sparkly number 6.

Scrap our Stash and Challenge #2 at CKC.

Challenge #2 at Counterfeit Kit CHallenge is a colour pallete.

I've specified it doesn't have to be cooking related despite the 2 pictures.

I've used totally kit items on my layout of 2 emus I saw on my recent trip to Kangaroo Island eucalyptus farm.  https://www.emuridge.com.au/. Outside was a real emu I befriended and inside was a toy one, but lifesize.

The background cardstock has foiled spots also in turquoise, and is American crafts cardstock. The other papers are no name. I used several things related to travel including the car loaded up, wanderlust,Travel does the heart good, the flamingo (another long legged bird but alas not an emu) .The tag on the left was featuring cameras so another trip related theme. I even used parcel tape!

CASology and Mod squad

At Casology the theme is outdoors.

Whenever I go outside, I always reach for my sunglasses so here's a simple card I made using that idea.

At Mod Squad challenges they wanted something with book paper background.

I used an old index from an atlas. Using pieces on my scrap desk, I constructed this card for a male to attend a cookout or BBQ.The lime check paper was from that end strip on a MME paper. I matched the twill ribbon and used 2 black brads.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #1

Here's the challenge I created for CKC members:

Scrapbook an OLD recipe. Perhaps you have one handed down from mother or grandmother or further back than that. Use those cookery items you added to your kit to scrap it. You could tell a little about the original person on your layout or perhaps even add a small photo of them.

I started with 2 papers in my kit. One was a Jenny Bowlin shaped die cut from the Front Porch Range.

I overlayed a spotted patty pan and red doiley in top left-hand corner. I had a small die cut that said secret recipe so used that as my title. The smaller words are Darkroom Door. I had a long journal block which suited this perfectly. I wrote out Mum's Scone recipe,it might be my grandmother's I'm not sure.

Finally, I used the shaped brads I bought of a mixmaster, measuring jug, teapot, cup and a canister.

My photos were taken on my recent trip to South Australia where we visited a lavender farm and ate fresh made scones with lavender jam and cream.

Lasting Memories colour challenge

This is the colour palette at Lasting memories. I've scrapped an old photo of myself taken just before my wedding. One of my bridesmaids described me as "Twitterpated".

I used the teal blue, plus 2 shades of pink. There's a tiny bit of green in the old Basic Grey rub on alphas that I recently uncovered at the bottom of a box. I forgot I had them. I'm also wearing a grey and pink dress.

Freaky Fast Friday and Try it on Tuesday.

My next layout is using 4 strips of paper from a challenge at The Scrap Room.

I also added ribbon plus 2 titles and a journal sticker.

Here's the story of Canada Bay if you're interested.

The French Canadian Exiles of 1840 – City of Canada Bay Heritage Society

Also today I made this card for Try it on Tuesday while I was in a yellow mood.

They wanted a card based on a song. "Mine is Fly me to the moon" and let me swing upon the stars.

Studio challenges and The Scrap Room SCRAP challenge.

Hello all, I've had a busy morning.

As well as creating the last layout I've also worked on this one for The Studio challenges. ( I followed Clair there.)

We have to use the letters of the word SCRAP.

Mine are

S=stripe, stars (they're asterixs but we will call them stars)

C= core'dinations yellow stripe cardstock

R= ribbon, ricrac

A= apples paper , ampersand

P=point journalling

I'm using this sketch at Paper Issues as well.

The photos are from Canberra National Library during the Enlighten festival. Enlighten Festival (enlightencanberra.com) where they light up all the public buildings.

Unstampabelles challenges

My next page is for Unstampabelles where they want us to scrap an adventure and use 3 of something.

I used MME Lime twist paper with another striped lime paper to co-ordinate.

I used 3 bingo cards cut from a Teresa Collins Summer Stories sheet. and a title made from one word "adventure." It became Time for adventure after I added the bingo card. Also on here are some ric rac and a red heart for a pop of colour.

When I was in South Australia I visited 3 wineries in one day, in the Barossa Valley. The 3rd one was Seppeltsfield at Tanunda. It was built in Victorian times and is approached through an avenue of palm trees. Instead of doing the wine tasting, I walked around the grounds ,exploring the old buildings. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them and getting some fresh air. For me that was an adventure.

May FOTF (Forgeries on the fourth)

Over at Counterfeit Kit challenges we are forging items for our kit.

I had a set of papers with roses, but not many on each page. Some papers were incomplete.

I fussy cut all the roses and made one sheet with beautiful roses all over.

Secret: I haven't glued the centre ones down yet so I can overlap them around the photo.

Here is the finished layout:

ISD-Use what's on your desk.

We were given a sketch, plus told to use what's on our desk.

I didn't cheat and was able to add strips of paper, plus punched flowers, ink and ribbon from my kit. I even used packaging for my photo mat!

So here's my finished layout which will become the title page for my South Australia album.

ISD- Grid challenge

Lisa set a grid challenge on CKC for International Scrapbooking Day.

I had 4 photos of bushfire damaged land on Kangaroo Island that I wanted scrapped. I divided the page into 4 using embroidery cotton (from my kit) then added my 4 photos and jounaling. I ticked a scalloped edge scrap under the left hand side and found a campfire picture which I added on the righ hand side. The silver alphas resemble ash after a fire to me.

The background paper is Pink Paislee Captivating.

Paper Issues- Rose's big adventure.

Accompany Rose on a cruise around the world and create a project using travel photos, maps, memorabilia, or tickets.

I'm starting with a map of South Australia where I spent my recent holiday.

I chose 2 photos of sights we saw on Kangaroo Island and used embroidery thread to connect them to the map.

I had 2 tickets that I used plus some cut outs from a 6x6 travel papers pad. The tabs were good for labelling the places.

International Scrapbooking Day CKC challenge

At CKC we have a challenge for ISD. (International Scrapbooking Day)

Here's the colour mood board.
I searched through my scrap bags and found lots of offcuts.
My initial thought is to make cards but we will see how we go.
The cardstock is the soft peach colour so it will be my background to whatever I do.

My first project is a card using punches, inspired by Tina on CKC.
I used the only punch I own plus some rhinestone centres.

My next is for Cut it up challenge where they want a masculine card with at least one die cut.
Mine has 2 die cut balloons. I'm currently making Father's Day cards so this one will go into that box.

Here's 3 more I have made for no challenge, just cause I can...........
