October Counterfeit kit.

Our kit to forge this month is from Wild Hare kits.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTzq7OciDVk

Here are 2 pictures we can use to form our kits.

As usual, I've gone off on a tangent but tried to incorporate as much as I can.

Here's my whole kit
You will notice I have a grey paper plus pink and aqua and a striped paper.
I've also forged one paper and included a circle mask/cut file similar to one on the video.
Instead of the rectangle patterned paper I used 100s and 1000s paper from Kaisercraft.

My papers

My embellishments and alphas, a bit light on but I can add what I need as I go along.
. No mini alphas as I find them difficult to use with my arthritic fingers.

I've also put an add on kit featuring Canada and New York themed items because I'm scrapping my holiday

A big welcome to Becca Sadler this month.

Here's the blog hop.

As you like it challenge

Over at As you like it challenge they are asking what is your favourite season and why.

I love spring and the gorgeous flowers however summer and therefore Christmas is my favourite.
Here in Australia the colours look brighter and Aussie Christmas means seafood, swimming, cooking special treats etc.

My card reflects the special treats idea. There are gingerbread cookies plus lollies on there.
The central card is shiny red not black as it may appear.

I'm also adding it to Crafting from the heart where anything goes

At International art and soul challenge, they want layering.
This was a new find for me, but I'm adding it to my card challenge list.

I've made a Christmas card, but in non-traditional colours.
Makes me hungry looking at it! There are 4 layers.

Creative craft cottage and Fab and funky.

At Creative craft cottage they want a card featuring ribbons and lace.
I've gone traditional on this one and used some old lace I had. (now all I need is the arsenic).
Here's my card.

****************************************************************************
At Fab n'funky challenge they want "all creatures great and small".
I decided to use a reindeer.

Feeling sketchy and freshly made sketches.

A new sketch for cards at Feeling sketchy.

And as I'm madly making Christmas cards, here's my card.
I substituted stars for the circle and hope that is ok.

Meanwhile at Freshly made sketches they have this sketch.

I'm still working with tall landscape cards so made this one.
It involved lots of cutting and measuring ,but I'm happy with how it came out.
I'm also entering this at Water cooler Wednesday where the theme is "all about holidays.

Double layout for Paper Issues.

Paper Issues had an alphabet challenge to use old alphas on a page.

I made one page, the first one, then liked it so much I did a second one.
I chose to use neutrals.

Case this sketch

At Case this sketch here is their latest

I've been making Christmas gift tags to sell for charity so used washi tape and sticker pictures I had to create several. Here are 2.
The dirty mark is on the scanner, not the card.

Let's scrap.

There's a double sketch at Let's scrap.
I've turned the photos on the first one but otherwise it is pretty similar to the original.

While on Prince Edward Island we did a bus tour around the island.
We stopped at a lobster fishing village and saw the boats ,dock and sheds.
There was a also a beached seal ,an ospreys nest, mussell farm and adirondak chairs.
This all led to layout #2

And here is the combined layout.

The red thing tied to the left hand layout is a lobster pick for extracting meat out of the legs. I kept it.

Scrap the girls.

At Scrap the girls they want grunge

I started with one of the sunburst papers.
I applied mists and droplets as well as using a Kaisercraft stamp named graffiti.
My black alphas are nearly finished, so I used all the full stops as extra texture.
There are also olive green enamel dots.(Erica doesn't like bright colours much)
The white alphas form a good contrast.
I hand made the little envelope which contains the journaling.

There was only the one photo so I couldn't use the sketch.
Nor did I have any colour blast products.
Despite that I thought I'd enter anyway.

Let's get sketchy

Here is the September 15th sketch at Let's get sketchy.

I've used a dark background and a white frame around the photo on this layout. The embellishments, including one lot of washi tape are specifically Canada theme. There is also a flair from Bramble Fox.
It says "this girl can" I'm hardly a girl, but it sums up my attitude.
The navy blue triangle was a recycled piece of cardstock.
Hope you like it!

Cute card Thursday

Over at Cute card Thursday there is a monochrome challenge.

I've chosen green and a Christmas theme.

There is a tiny bit of red on the berries, but as it is a sticker, I couldn't remove those.

Unstampabelles

The challenge at Unstampabelles is to use washi tape and buttons.

While in Canada we visited a maple syrup farm .It was set in a forest of maple trees and we ate lunch in their homely restaurant.
All the foods were maple in some way. There was maple cured ham with crackling, pancakes with maple syrup, taffy to try, even maple sweetened tea. It was a very sweet day.
We learned to play the spoons

I made a layout about this and have used a Bella timber paper as my background.
I've layered printed kraft, hessian, corrugated card and a strip of paper.
Also in Canada I bought some embellishments which included the maple leaf washi tape.
The buttons are from my stash.

Scrap our stash

At Scrap our stash September challenges, here is the blend a sketch

I'm recently returned from a holiday in Eastern Canada and New York so I decided to make a start on some photos. We visited an area known as Graffiti Alley.

I decided to use bright papers on this as my photos are just that.
I started with the left hand sketch but added the central vertical strip and title placement from the right.
There are 2 flairs on this, one says Dream big and the other says amazing.

Christmas cards

The merry Christmas challenge has anything goes for Christmas
Watercooler Wednesday has all about occasions (Christmas)
I made a card using green liquid pearls as an accent plus the sentiment is my main focus

ABC Christmas challenge has snow and teal
I've used liquid pearls to add snow on this sleigh card.

Try it on Tuesday says splash it on.
I used mist and flicked it over the card adding to the berries found in the top left hand corner. The card looks Christmassy without any pictures etc to specify it.

Lastly this card has bling around the wreath in red rhinestones. The washi tape across the bottom is also sparkly.
Li'l red wagon asks us to bling it on.

4 cards from one sheet of scrapbooking paper, that's economy!

The scrap room jump start challenge.

I'm joining in the fun at the scrap room jump start challenge.
Because my layout is about Niagara falls I tried to add a softness to my layout. The doiley added a romantic feel as does the satin ribbon. The colours I chose are muted and I added lots of splashes of mist to resemble the water.

I went there recently and it fulfilled a lifelong dream to see it, hence my title.
The horn blower cruise was great fun and yes you get wet but it is part of the thrill.

This sketch works well, I might use it again.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #1 Use red, gold and purple on a layout.

Well, I'm back from my recent trip to Canada and decided to make a start on my photos.
One of the places we visited in Ottowa was the Canadian war museum.
Here is a picture of the inside
AS you can see it is ultra modern.
This corridor is designed to make you feel like you are in the trenches.
It certainly was cramped.

In the foyer was a 3D wall featuring a circle.(See photo on my layout top right.)
On closer examination you discover that the whole thing is made of nails. They are sculptural and you can feel the texture.

I've used all 4 photos on the layout.
The background paper is pale yellow with purple swirls. I used red background mats and gold washi tape strips.
Because of the 4 photos, I kept it simple with black alphas.

September mini kit.

This is the kit from https://www.noelmignon.com/products/apple-crisp-kit

*****************

Several months ago I started a smash book for USA.
It was used for my trip to Phoenix, Monument Valley and Las Vegas. As there are several pages left, I have decided to prepare the remaining for my current trip to Eastern Canada and New York.
(As you read this I will be away travelling.)

I have chosen some elements ideas from the kit to make my mini kit.
There are orange and yellow papers, leaves, pumpkins, butterflies.

Close ups :The border strip features Autumn leaves. The circles are wood grain.

The Flourish with a bling fences will add a cute page detail.

Now here's what I have made using these elements.
The journaling and photos will come later but I have left spaces for them.
You will need to use your imagination somewhat.

Left journalling, right photo

Left photo, right journaling plus small photo
Left hand page is on brown background. Both pages photos.
