Use your stuff and Tuesday Taggers

At Tuesday Taggers they want lots of layers and at Use your stuff they want die cuts and punches.
I've managed to combine both on the one card.
There are 5 layers on this card counting the ribbon.
The right hand side has been punched with hearts and the copper coloured frame is a die cut.

Here's my example for this challenge.

Mystical Cyber crop challenge

Over at Mystical we are asked to create a layout featuring a city's name in the title.
I have several of those but have chosen Pompeii which was a city before Vesuvius erupted.

My layout features sewn canvas as my backing mat plus a chipboard fence and a tag I made myself.

Challenge #3 Use one thing

Here's my layout about the Ghan railway. It is iconic in Australia as it goes from North to South (and vice versa) across the middle of Australia. I was really looking forward to the trip.

Challenge #3: One Thing: You may use paper, photos and only ONE other thing on your project (like mist or stamping or one type of embellishment).

In my case, it is the Simple stories "Take a hike" stickers.
I've used them on the library pocket, plus there is a topper above the top photo and on the left hand side between the 2 photos.
The ruler along the bottom (Partly obscured) is also from that range.

I've put my journaling in the pocket to document my journey.
This was the cabin I was expecting

but because I was a single, I was given this.
Just room for my legs, and it then folded into a bed with no space for anything.
There was definitely some disappointment felt.

Anyway, I survived.
Now here is the order for our blog hop.

Jemma    http://just-jimjams.blogspot.co.uk (go here next)

Hope you enjoyed our mini hop this month.
We would love to see what you can do at Counterfeit Kits.

Lil Red Wagon

Houses are the challenge at Lil Red Wagon.
I've made a Christmas card featuring a stamp from Kaisercraft Fine and Sunny collection.
And here it is

Merry Monday #176 and a DT entry

At Merry Monday we are asked to use a frame on our card.

I started with some green corrugated card, always great for frames.
Someone had given me a packet of Christmas bling, so I have glued it on my frame.
I can imagine this card will appeal to children.

And at  ABC Christmas challenges they are having a DT call.
I recently won one of their challenges.
Being a trained librarian the idea of ABC comes naturally to me! I'm very organised
We are asked to feature a favourite Christmas project.
Last year I made this mini album.
It is a Kaisercraft wooden one and features photos of my 2013 Christmas day.
I can do cards, layouts and off the page items.
My regulars know that already!

Wish me luck!!!!

Our Beautiful world

At Our beautiful world this week the theme is "gather".
While in Alice Springs (N.T.) I saw this collection of glass lizards and snakes.
What a pretty gathering.

My favourite things challenge

This is the sketch for cards at My favourite things blog.
I've decided to make a Christmas card for this one.
The square cardboard under the bow is high gloss.
The pinkish rectangle is actually canvas that has been misted with candy apple red.

Stuck? second sketch

I used that wheel !!!!!!!!!!!
It is from Kaisercraft Technologic collection and I've had it forever.
One of the things I like about Counterfeit Kit Challenges is that it MAKES you use your stuff.

I had sitting on my desk and went through my holiday photos. When I found the helicopter I knew how to use it.

Enough rambling. This is the latest sketch from Stuck?!

Instead of the star I used the wheel/cog.
Instead of the small stars I used felt clouds and enamel dots.
I added the sticker umbrella for a touch of whimsy (That's all those stickers gone now).

And here is my last layout for this month (except for the blog hop)

 and some close ups

AND before I finish, we are looking for new DT members at Archiscraps
If you are interested please contact me.

Pile it on plus others

There are 2 rows of lace plus striped ribbon to match the patterned paper.
The paper under the lace has been embossed on the cuttlebug.
I adore the soft colour scheme of the Ruby Rock-it alphas.
I've made this for a few different challenges.

Firstly for http://pileitonchallenge.blogspot.ca/  fabric lace or ribbon.
I'm also entering it on http://creativecardcrew.blogspot.co.uk/  RIBBON
http://carabbiemomentsofcraft.blogspot.co.uk/ SPOTS OR STRIPES
http://lovetoscrapchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ Anything goes

Ruby's rainbow & Fatastic Tuesday

My next card is for Ruby's Rainbow where the challenge is autumn.
I am finishing off my stickers from Year-ography sticker sheet.
There happened to be a bare tree plus some leaves, so I have used them here with the word, sorry.

It will also be on Fattastic Tuesday where Anythng goes (autumn colours)

Feeling sketchy

SKETCH #131

I've been enjoying making cards and using up "bits" from my Counterfeit Kit.
This sketch at Feeling Sketchy has made me use the last of my hessian from the kit plus do some hand sewing and even hammer a punch to make a hole.
Totally crafty!

Fusion and other halloween colour challenges

I've used both the sketch and was inspired by the candlesticks (ornate) and the circles(pumpkin, mirror) on my card.
We don't celebrate Halloween in Australia so I've just gone with the colours as a travel/birthday card.
 I'm entering it at Fusion

where this is the colour Q palette
inspired by this photo
Spray paint dollar store glass candle sticks black and add pumpkins for Halloween decoration

and on http://lilredwagon.blogspot.de/2015/10/challenge-311-tags.html where they want tags .The whole card is made as a tag then adhered to the background card.
and challenge #2 at http://our-crafty-corner.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/challenge-2.html (anything goes/Halloween.)
Fussy and Fancy challenge  where you can use orange, black or purple.

Let's capture our memories #134 and a coffee stop.

At Let's Capture our memories, this is the latest sketch.
And with 3 pages left in my Northern Territory album, I'm keen to get it completed.

These photos are from Alice Springs.
The Red Dog Café was my morning coffee stop and they make a darn good cuppa.
The poster was in a nearby shop and having seen the film and read the book at high school, I thought it deserved a photo. "A town like Alice" is my title.

I've used a coffee coloured flower plus lace doiley and border edging to relate to my cappachino.

Love to scrap challenge

This card is for Love to scrap challenge blog
The criteria is lace or ribbon. I've used lace along the side of the card.

Stick it down card sketch

I'm on a roll this afternoon making cards.
Here's the sketch at Stick it down.
Still using those die cuts plus papers from my Counterfeit Kit, I've made this card.
The sentiment says Fun ??? and it will be used as a get well card.

Retro sketches & PDE linky party

I had some paper left from the orange zigzags on my layout from yesterday so I've made 3 cards.
My first 2 are for Retro sketches, both the same design but using either side of the paper in reverse
(hope that makes sense!)

and this last one is for PDE linky party where the challenge is tags.
I've made my tag from the same set of die cuts but used 2 flowers & 2 leaves on this.
Those 2 yellow flower brads have been in my kit for 14 years!!

Just to prove I used it!

In my October Counterfeit Kit was a paper featuring a desert scene.
I never thought I would use it.
Sifting through my photos, I discovered that this one of Rev John Flynn's grave fitted the landscape exactly.
I'd even taken the horizon and edge of the pebbles at the same angle.
I've kept it very simple with no matting ,just suitable stickers from Simple Stories to document the trip plus alphas as my title.

Let's get sketchy

Here is the sketch at http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com.au/2015/10/team-b-october-week-2.html

It fits beautifully with a photo I have from the camel farm at Uluru.
As there is straw in the photo I've created a hessian corner.
I've stitched it on using X shaped stitches.
The pattern between the 2 papers is washi tape.
I've misted through chicken wire mask on the right hand side of the photo with turquoise to match my top.
As a final touch, I used screw shaped brads to hold on the mats.

Use your stuff & Seize the birthday& Case this sketch

Last night I finished off the mini letters from my Counterfeit kit ,so put the remaining numbers on to some patterned paper randomly to start off a card.
This morning I saw that use your stuff ask us to use ribbon.
I found marching ribbon, tied a bow, added the 21 and voila, a card!

and at Seize the Birthday the theme is splatters
I've used the same background paper and splattered Tattered angels Mist on it.
I then covered a chipboard ticket with paper and added my age number.
Nice and bright!

And at Case this sketch  Case this sketch

I've used Fleur de Lis and a bling crown on a card for a princess
I've put my sentiment under the crown.
