Seize the Birthday

I've been running short of Birthday cards.
At Seize the birthday we are asked to use pennants.
I've gone with a sticker border I had and added some pennants under it.
I ran out of T and R on this set of alphas but I think the sentiment still works.

Case this sketch

Here is the sketch at Cas(e) this sketch. And here is my card

My bling is a pale pink, it comes out clear on here.

Stuck on U sketches

The latest sketch looks like this

and now here is my interpretation of it.

The enamel dots in the centre of the cameras are actually a bright green and the one on the left is red.

Christmas card challenges

I won a pack of Christmas papers last year and finally opened them yesterday.
Inside was a red and white candy striped cardstock.
I've used it to make 2 cards.
The first is for http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com.au/ where the picture to inspire us is

 and here is my card

Next is a card for fun, but using the same background.

Two bits of news and a card

I was the award winner for Challenge #25 at Scrapping 4 fun.
I've recently made and sent off another bundle of 6x6 pages for Southern Cross Kids Camps.
They make their own scrapbooks using our papers with mats & tags already attached.

And now my card for Cards in envy where the challenge is to use twine.

It is a white card with the 3 hearts already cut out.
I put the patterned paper around the flap with the twine looped around it.
Then I attached my vellum sentiment............lots of XXXs or kisses.

Freshly Made sketches

Freshly Made sketches features this

And here is my interpretation.

The card concept #19

Another card challenge, The card concept

And this one appealed to me. I've used Imaginesce tomato paper with lime spots.
The 3 embellishments complete the card.
 Another thank you card done.
I guess my style is Freestyle collage.
p.s. The tomato paper isn't in straight lines,it is a haphazard pattern.Your eyes are not faulty.

Scrapping4fun challenges

Here is my new Design Team blog
http://scrapping4funchallenges.blogspot.com.au/

and the challenge #26 is Buttons and Bows.
Go over to the blog to see what else has been done then join in.
Here is my card

I haven't put a sentiment on as yet because I'm not sure what I will use it for.
Why not join in the fun, you can make a layout, card ,canvas, mini album etc.

I'm entering this in Child's play challenges as well ,where the theme is a card with sequins.
(I used to be on their DT )

The big flower dilemma

I fussy cut these big flowers from patterned paper a few years ago.
I put them into my Counterfeit Kit to make myself use them.
I chose the scarlet coloured cardstock, because it provides contrast. So this is how I started.

Searching through my Canada photos, I found one of the shops in Whistler featuring a red roof and a garden of flowers...perfect! I actually took the photo to include the silver garbage that looked like a dalek from Dr Who.
I matted on yellow then added my embellishments including the fox in the centre of the big flower. Flair button is from D-Lish.

Stuck on U and the Male room

I'm stash busting now and making cards to sell.
The first one is for Stuck on U sketches where they're having a die cut challenge using geometric shapes
This card is featuring 3 circles with bling in the centre.
Even though it is for a five year old there are only 3 circles! They are meant more as a decoration and not to be counted.
****************
This next one is for the Male Room challenges
We are asked to use metals on our card.
I started with a silver card featuring hearts on the edge.
Next I have put a large moustache and 3 brads(metal) as eyes and nose.

My daughter has a friend who loves anything to do with outer space and UFOs.
I had him in mind when I made this.
***************************

My next one is a travel card. These days there always seems to be someone I know going overseas.

These 3 cards use up some more bits and pieces from my Counterfeit kit.

Card overload

Yesterday I went to a cropping day and made several cards for several challenges so.....

WARNING , LONG POST!

My first is for Make it Monday at the Memory Nest

and here it is....
****************
Next is for Tuesday Taggers where we are asked to "Recycle it"
I've used skeleton leaves on this card plus the Packaging from the skeleton leaves and 3 fairies cut from an old picture dictionary I kept for 50 years. There was enough to make a matching gift card.
***************
Next is a card for Paula Hollifield cards
We are asked to make a distressed card

I've used more of my Counterfeit Kit items on this
*************
Festive Friday wanted a card based on this picture

Here's my take on that..it is very blingy and pink!

The Bella chandelier is a brighter Musk pink than it appears here.

                                                     ****************
Next is for Christmas card challenges #42

Here is my card

I'm happy to say that my cards have been selling very well and I will be giving Professor Edmonds next Tuesday over $100 to donate to arthritis research. That represents 200 plus cards sold.

A cutie pie at Make it Monday

These are 3 of the papers from my Counterfeit kit.
I've been looking at them for ages wondering.........
Yesterday inspiration struck!
Here is the layout sketch for The Memory Nest

It features lots of layers and tabs......and suited my idea. I flipped the sketch so the big strip is on the left.

I went out the back door of our cabin in Jasper and there right in front of me was a squirrel eating a nut! I sneaked back inside to get the camera and caught this cutie pie shot.
I couldn't resist using more of the Jolie's Boutique squirrels and nuts embellishments.

Shopping our stash-People #169

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEWaqUVac3M

One of the famous movie quotes.

I was given a birthday card featuring Movie stars and one of them was Humphrey Bogart.

Having always loved "Casablanca" I decided to make this card for Shopping our stash

Sketches in Thyme #129

Here is the pretty sketch for Sketches in Thyme.

My layout isn't so pretty as I'm scrapping photos from my Canada holiday.
These are from Vancouver aquarium, where we saw Beluga whales, sea otters and these cute penguins.
I've chosen mauve, green and turquoise with just a pop of yellow.
I only had 3 photos so put my journaling box where the 4th photo would go and anther embellishment on the bottom right corner.
I've used enamel dots bottom left and scattered top right.

Scrapping4fun challenges,my new design team!

This is the picture stimulus for Scrapping 4 fun challenges.

I was inspired by camping, plus the colours and patterns in the photo.
I've used cloud vellum from Dear Lizzy as my background.
The banner is from Heidi Swapp.
Other papers are Graphic 45,plus scraps of music, apricot floral and green.
There are pink heart brads and a tiny pink checked bow.
My pastel alphas are ancient, but I'm pleased to use them.
The journaling sticker is from Glitz.
My flair button is from D-lish.

Why not join in the fun, you can make a layout, card ,canvas, mini album etc.

Counterfeit Kit Selfie challenge

We are asked to scrap a selfie photo.

Last month I actually did this one which involved some mixed media work.

This month I have done a more traditional, flowery/shabby chic layout of myself & a friend.

There is stamping in white around the edges of the torn sections.

So, maybe you can get out your mixed media items or your laces, flowers and stamps and complete a selfie layout too.
Don't forget to upload it on to Counterfeit Kits Challenge site.

Cardabilities #106

http://cardabilities.blogspot.ca/

And here is my interpretation.
I've used Graphic 45 background paper and Kaiser embellishments.

Shine on at Cards in Envy

The challenge at Cards in Envy is school colours.
One of the schools I taught at had charcoal grey, white and yellow.
I've chosen this combination.

The MME Chalkboard range went perfectly with this.
I chose a sticker that says shine on, because teaching is the business of making children find their abilities to shine.

Rochelle Spears colour layout

Here's the palette for Kelly's colour challenge on Rochelle Spears site.
I took that top one as being grey and the tannish red was difficult to match so I hope the paper I chose is close enough.

Here's my layout, making a total of all 3 for her September challenge.

I've used another Party treat bag on here, which contains my ticket from the Peak 2 peak gondola at Whistler.
I've also included a squirrel and chipboard wolf from my travel embellishments.
I particularly like the 2 enamel dot paper clips and am glad they are used on here.

Rochelle Spears challenges -tictactoe

The challenge at Rochelle Spears is this tic tac toe

I've chosen to go vertically down the left hand side.

I've photographed it as the scanner didn't like the thickness.
You can see the ricrac.
There are 5 eyelets both pink and purple.
The domino is my game piece.

I found this cute fence today and just had to use it!
This layout is also based on the Sketch challenge at the same site.

I have used items from my Counterfeit Kit.

Ruby's Rainbow and Keys

The theme at Ruby's Rainbow is keys.
I have chosen a 21 card for a male who happens to love green.

First I placed 5 keys on the blank card, then misted with forest green.
Next, I've made a centre tag with the 21 as the feature.

Use your stuff and shopping our stash.

I'm off with the birds this morning.

Over at Use your stash the challenge is to use border punches.

I had paper that looked like a wooden wall, so used it with my owl diecut to make a picture.
The 2 border strips add some softness to it.

Next I saw Shopping our stash has asked for chickens.......................
At first I thought, that's unusual!
Then I remembered I had a Kaisercraft set of farm embellishments.
Here's my fun card for the challenge.

and look what the scrap of paper was that I used for the hills.
This proves you can use anything up if you use your imagination..
