Scrap the boys

At scrap the boys this month they want baby boys.

My friend's grandson was having a swimming lesson, so I took his photo, serious and smiling.

I used a background paper that says "oh boy" as it suited the theme. The middle paper is actually embossed, so I inked it to make the embossing more obvious.

I also used some torn vellum plus my mat. There are 2 strips of washi tape and a cluster bottom right. The flair is from Bramble Fox. The title is October afternoon and I'm so pleased to use it. I also glued wooden heart veneers and enamel dots.

Here's a close up of my cluster

Sketches in Thyme plus soul scrappers colour challenge.

This was the sketch at Sketches in Thyme. I based my layout on that and also kept in mind this colour challenge from Soul scrappers.

We also had to use a punch for this challenge.

Here's my layout.

Crafty Animals and the library challenge.

I stopped making layouts to use up some scraps.

My first card is for a Dad and features a hammerhead shark. It was cut from an old picture dictionary .

The two papers on the background are offcuts from my Counterfeit Kit. I thought the chevron one reminded me of shark's teeth. I used a black rectangular sticker behind the shark to make it stand out more.

I'm entering this at Crafty Animals

At The library challenge they are doing "The girl in the polkadot dress."

I've chosen to do a layout featuring lots of circles plus a photo of my daughter wearing a polkadot dress!

I stuck to red and white and cross stitched the cherries as well as around the edge of the cardstock.

The dots around the circles are from a set of glittery alphas.

Mystical 5 word challenge

I've made a 5 word layout for another Mystical challenge. We had to also use 2 different sized letters.

On here I also used the last 2 flairs from my kit plus the acetate and a tab I had left. That styriped paper has been in my stash for ages but I managed to find flowers that matched it. The background green is named Peppermint frost and had tiny spots with a glittery sheen.

There are more leftover alphas used up here.

Mystical using left over alphas

At Mystical scrapbooking they have a challenge to use a set of left over alphas.

I found a black set with most of the main letters missing.

I made an F into the t, H into the u, 6 into the E, j into the i and d into the a.

While having coffee, a bush turkey hopped up on table and smashed the glass on the ground. It was interesting to see how clever it was with it's beak and the waitress said it does it nearly every day.

I used a lolly bag behind the left hand photos. and the glitter frame from my kit. There is one random Autumn lane flower plus some yellow shapes I cut from an American Crafts sheet I had in my kit.

I'm pleased I could use the 3 wood veneer feathers and the yellow person came in my Christmas bon-bon as a tiny note pad.

2 layouts.

I've done 2 more layouts today using my Counterfeit kit items.

The first was for mystical where we could only use black and white alphas.

I fitted 3 photos plus a tag, a wood veneer mountain and the mix of left over alphas.

Next one was Choose 3 items for Soul Scrappers.

I chose purple, doiley and numbers.

I used purple glimmer paint from L'il Davis on the background then added the doiley plus 2 photoss to make a panorama. The 2 strips of washi tape finished off those rolls. The coaster top left was one from the hotel in Brisbane.

Sketch 'n' scrap

I'm working through my Counterfeit kit now and here's another layout I did today for sketch n scrap.

And here's my interpretation using 2 photos I overlaid to make one scene.

I used 3 Autumn lane flowers from my stash on here plus wood veneer binoculars. The 2 arrows were from a free magazine insert many years ago.
