City crafter and Shopping our stash.

Over at http://citycrafter.blogspot.com.au/ the challenge is washi tape.
and at http://shoppingourstash.blogspot.co.uk/ the challenge is to use metal.

I started with an offcut of striped Christmas paper, mainly because it matched the washi tape at the bottom of the card.
Next I found an old metal circular item which I glued to the centre of the card.
On my desk were some small ribbon bows. The red one turned the metal into a type of wreath.
I added a Teresa Collins brad with NOEL sentiment and there you have it!

(Does that bow look like a moustache to you?)

A little touch of the Australian outback. The photo was taken at Silverton, near Broken Hill NSW.

The chipboard I used has been misted with "sugar maple" colour.

Stuck on U sketches

I've decided to turn it upside down, like this.

I'm using the Kaisercraft Sweet Charlotte range.

I've mounted some of the carnations on dots to make them 3D.
The doileys were lightly inked with sage ink to soften the white glow.

A war typewriter and a giant sticker.

In my March Counterfeit kit I had a group of stickers, including a giant one of a typewriter.
I decided to use it on this layout. This is my OWN CHALLENGE.

Putting it in the bottom left corner meant I could use a smaller sheet to resemble paper in the roller.
I should have used lined paper.
I placed the smaller photo at the top of the paper in the roller and used washi tape to emphasise the rolling through effect.
I journalled under this photo as it is my "story".
I added a Teresa Collins wooden piece saying documented.
So far so good...........

My original intention was to use cogs or chipboard but nothing I had suited.
I added the large photo overlapping the handle from the typewriter.
My title came next followed by the arm pointing, cut from another patterned paper.
I then recycled a matchbook cover showing a map of Australia and the flag.
I found another wooden shape of a star and added it to the corner to reflect those on our flag.

Scrap our stash

My daughter Erica,was recently bridesmaid at a friend's wedding.
The colour theme was red and turquoise.
As it turned out they all wore red with turquoise trimmings.
I've used the 2 colours as a basis for this layout.
At Scrap our stash we are asked to do a layout using letters from the word stencil.


I've used S=spots and sweet bag; T= tag,tabs and tearing ;E= enamel dot {plus Erica };N=numbers C=cork camera, corners`; I=ink (around the sweets bag); L=layering.

Seize the Birthday

Over at Seize the Birthday the theme is a masculine birthday card.

I've chosen a stamp featuring a racing car and sketched in the background to create a scene for it.

Working with patterned papers in greens and browns mainly I've created my card.

There are 4 metal brads to make it more manly.
