Leftover numbers tutorial for Counterfeit Kits.

Counterfeiting is the name of the game.
This picture from the August CK got my brain ticking over.
We all have leftover numbers and alphas right???
So I dug some out and found matching background paper, in this case it was a 6X6 pad.

Not only mix up the numbers but spell out numbers using the alphas. Six uses up those x that we are stuck with. I even used commas as counters as you can see.

My next step was to use these on a layout.
I still have some left over but they can be put on cards etc.

Try it on Tuesday collage card.

I recently was watching a you-tube presentation about washi tape and discovered it can be used to help pleat ribbon.
I've used that technique on this card for Try it on Tuesday.
Here's my card which features Collage as the requirement.
I started with pale pink(not white as it appears) cardstock.
On that I've pasted pink polkadot paper then stamped using a Kaiser stamp saying "memories" and "remember". To the RHS I pasted a scrap of pink star paper.
The heart at the top is vellum painted with pink paint then cut to shape.
The leaves are canvas.
The pink ribbon and strip of washi tape across the centre help to finish it off. The bottom row of washi and white satin ribbon are straight.
This is the pleated technique I referred to.

Geocaching at Counterfeit Kits Challenge 1

Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", anywhere in the world.

Challenge #1:  Geocaching Challenge!  Use the concept of "something hidden" on your project!

On my layout I have a photo of the wall leading to Tara in Ireland. It was a long climb but worth the view when you get there.I've created texture on this layout by using Prima papers and corrugated card, misted with green to look like moss. I've also dribbled green mist on the paper to create a spotty  effect.
Hidden on the layout somewhere is a green bracket from a set of alphas. Can you find it?

Camping at CASology

At Casology http://casology.blogspot.ca/ this week the topic is camping.
I've made a card using some new animal shapes I've purchased.
A friend and her mother are going on an African Safari trip,so I thought I'd give her this before she goes. I used black card so it looks like night time.
Lets hope they don't have an elephant and giraffe in their tent!

Sketches with a twist August reveal

I was recently invited to be on the DT at Sketches with a Twist. (Yipee!!!)
Here's the blog if you want to check it out. http://sketcheswithatwist.blogspot.com.au/

The sketch for AUGUST looks like this
and the twist is to use a safety pin.
To inspire you, here's my layout.
The photo was our holiday resort in Vanuatu several years ago.
The safety pin is holding the date tag on the right.
The quote and title is "We create our tomorrows by what we dream today."
I've used my favourite CHAPTER ONE papers from Kaisercraft.
So come and join in the fun!
