White with one done.

Here's my white with one entry for this month. I used a poem I've had for ages about hugs.Jonathan is a good big brother and very protective of Annabelle. She loves him too.
The layout is a combination of chatterbox,Basic Grey and Sassafrass lass papers.

A scrapboxx win

I entered a layout on Scrapboxx. The theme was "all you need is love". I discovered today that I have won a book of me kit worth approximately $35. It will come in very handy as it is already co-ordinated I won't have to run around searching for matching bits.
Still haven't done of the scrapbooking I promised myself but hopefully will make a start in the next few days.

April challenges

It is time to get messy at Puzzle scraps which involves 9 squares a star an arrow and paint.White with one wants coral and journalling. A2z scraplets has a blind challenge.Luckily I have a few days free!

I managed to take some great photos from a recent photo shoot of my great niece and nephews.

Hopefully I can scrap them well.

My trip to Europe is only 20 days away and to say I'm excited is an understatement.

Mini album is finished

Here's the mini album I've been making for Purplescraps. The idea was to have a word to describe yourself for each letter of the alphabet. My album is around 10cmx10cm so there wasn't much room but I managed some type of scrapbooking on each page. Not all had photos but most did.
Now my next task is to complete a whole scrapbooking album for my nephew and family before I go to Europe. It is well on the way but I want it done.

Spotlight shopaholic

Today our local spotlight store closed down.I was there when it opened this morning. Along with several dozen others. The idea was to pay $20 for a bag(like a woolies grocery bag) then fill it with whatever could fit in it.
I fitted in mine.... 53 sheets bazzil including 23 black and 12 white
A kaiser ribbon box(like the one I already altered)
8 mini paper mache boxes to alter(like ring boxes)
6 tubes black Jo sonja paints
1 square tin to alter(ATC holder size)
2 packets gold star shaped brads
4 mini canvases-about playing card size
a bath mit
a black duck toy
a dora the explorer lunch box tin with handle(can alter that!)
4 Kaiser rubber stamps
a fleur de lis metal embellishment
foam animal stamps
2 tubes buttons(33 hot pink ones and 28 with funny faces)-they were originally $1.49 each!
2 kids paint sets
4 scrapbooking kits with paper stickers etc
7 Grant Archival a5 memory books
but the best part was.....drumroll please.... 132 sheets of patterned paper...all good brands like Kaisecraft/Fiskars/Sandy lion/heidi graceAmerican Crafts etc
I think I may have enough to keep me going for quite a while!

GOT THE TICKETS!

I've been to pick up the tickets for our trip to Europe today. Now they're home I'm realising we are really going. (The big hole in my savings reminds me of that too.) I've put a thread on purplescraps to follow my preparations and travels.
Erica's car needed some work done so she has had to spend $700 of the $1000 she had saved.Luckily she is working hard.
The suitcase is now on the bedroom floor and I keep putting things in it as I think of them.

Layout for Puzzle sketches

This is the girliest layout I have done in ages. I used the chipboard butterfly and flourish that I won on Puzzle sketches last month.First they were painted then inked around the outside. I then used the edge of the ink pad to do wisps of colour on the butterfly's body and the flourish. I used silver ink over the antennas and body. The lace was found in mum's sewing stash and is probably at least 20 years old.
I love this photo of Erica ...she was so vibrant,so eager for life etc.(Still is!)
