Counterfeit Kit Challenge #3

I'm actually in hospital as you read this. I'm having a knee replacement.

Challenge #3 is a double sketch page.

To create my circles I used red paint and a fine paint brush. I couldn't layer them over the photos but otherwise it is the same.

My photos are from a wedding that my daughter attended recently.

Here is side one

and here is side two

and the stitched double finally looks like this.

I used several flowers I had in my kit plus tiny wooden and sticker hearts. Two papers were fussy cut to get the larger pink flowers.

I'm very pleased with how this turned out.

Little Red wagon

At Little red wagon they want Easter cards.

Because it is autumn here in Australia, I decided to use fawn and orange tones. I had the bunny and sentiment (You are my sunshine) already.

It will go well for an Easter card for the family.

Shopping our stash inking

Today I used a gum leaf from the garden to ink out an autumn card.

I used a gold background Then inked around the leaf several times using old paper distress ink and pinecone ink.

I added a cluster of items next to my sentiment -hatpin, button, leaf and some hessian.

This is for Shopping our stash.

Lasting memories circles wreath

At Lasting memories they want a circle using punches or die cuts. I used die cuts but the letter Q in various sorts,

When we went to Disneyland we had to queue everywhere. I used 2 photos of the queues then surrounded them with various Q letter.. It is something different and a good way to use up random letters.

Atlantic Hearts Challenge

Here is the sketch for Atlantic Hearts challenge

I've used an offcut paper from my Counterfeit kit.

The wood veneer cherries or peaches replace the leaves on the sketch.

Cupcake Inspiration

The above challenge at Cupcake inspiration inspired me to make this card. I started by embossing the white paper then inking it with cyan blue (lightly)

Next, I added the flower, leaves and circular sentiment. "Sweet life" could cover many occasions.

I've also made a card for Neglected stuff challenge.

These presents die cuts have been hanging around my craft room for ages along with the word Christmas. I've had them for a few years and been meaning to use them.

Today was the day. My background paper features some houses, so I cut it so the houses were in one corner then added my gifts and sentiment. I used a thin washi tape in silver to finish off the card.

Challenge YOUrself bling

At Challenge YOUrself the criteria is bling.

I've used my kit for this layout and it is an old photo that I might have used before. The colours were right.

I used a paper that had little flowers/splashes in the background. These were perfect for the pearl bling and sugar rush dots I used to highlight my photo area.

I also used 3 tags, washi tape, a small heart sticker plus my title "Happy life". The quote says "My favourite thing to do is go where I have never been"

A close up of the bling. The green sugar dots are almost the same colour as the paper.

Lasting Memories circle journalling

At Lasting Memories they ask us to do our journalling in a circle.

We were having lunch at a nursery cafe and watching the Ibis standing on a statue nearby. These 3 photos show the various stages of its climbing. I've used a pink and grey theme with a hint of yellow.

Everybody art challenge.

Here's 2 more cards I've finished off using the baby boy paper from my February kit.

They both feature chipboard animals.

I inked the giraffe after painting it white and painted the frog green. In both cases I drew eyes on them.

I'm entering them at the Everybody art challenge

March 2025 Counterfeit kit.

The March kit is Sweet Shoppe Designs - Making Your Memories Sweeter

The chosen part was A beach tale.

As we are heading into Autumn I wanted to get my summer photos scrapped. I decided to focus my kit around this paper pad I have.

It still has summer colours, but with a vintage feel.

I removed them and laid them out.
Two main colours appeared, pink and aqua.
I'm basing my kit around that.
Presenting my kit

Summer Dreaming

Here are my embellishments to match these papers.

A big welcome to our guest designer,
                                                                      Martha Saenz

Hello everyone!  My name is Martha Saenz and I live in San Antonio, TX.  I’ve been a scrapbooker since my early 20s – going on 27 years!  My favorite subject to scrap is my family.  It started with my nephews and nieces but then I got to be a Mom and my little boy Nick was my favorite subject, of course!  I may or may not have about 50 full 12x12 albums of just Nick’s life… LOL!  I blame it on being the youngest of five children in my family and there are hardly any photos of me growing up, but it’s all good!  I also have a chihuahua dog, my little Frankie, and three cats who Frankie works hard to “regulate.”  LOL!  All have their appropriate place in my treasured albums.

My scrapbook style is more symmetrical and neat with a touch of whimsy to keep it fun.  I love using my Cricut to make my own embellishments but do not set me loose in Hobby Lobby because things can escalate quickly!  Over about the last three years I’ve become more of a card-maker.  I lost my beautiful son Nick to cancer when he was 17 years old, which was almost four years ago.  I am here to tell you to never stop taking pictures because you never know if one of those may be the last one you have of that person (or pet)!  Keep on scrapbooking all.of.the.pictures. and always tell the stories of who and what you love, and the stuff that isn’t so great, too.  It’s so therapeutic to write it all down and get those treasured memories onto paper, not to mention Alzheimer’s is on the rise and it’s impossible to remember it all!

I hope we have fun this month creating and chatting about all things scrapbooking with this newest counterfeit kit.  My IG is @msaenzmd – “see” you all there!

Here's the blog hop for those who still do it.

Have a good month everyone and enjoy your scrapping time.
