Scrap YOUrself challenge

Over at Scrap challenge YOUrself they have washi tape as the extra item we need to use.

I had these 3 photos of me recently at a zoo where they gave us food to feed the animals. As I was on my own I needed to grab random strangers to take the photos. Amazingly, these turned out ok as it was school kids I asked.

I used unusual colours on this to match my scarf ,of all things, which is cream with maroon and ginger.
Glad I could use 2 maroon papers from my stash!
My washi tapes are the striped black, white and gold across the middle plus the pink and white stripes.
The smaller "with love" sign is cut from a roll of sentiments with sticky back ,like washi tape.

Scrap our stash sketch challenge

At Scrap our stash they also have a sketch challenge. You are also asked to use wood veneers.

I used 4 photos of the sun coming up on Kangaroo Island. The orange cardboard is so bright and I'm limited with its use but it is nicely hidden on this layout. The wood veneer leaves were left over from Canada scrapping, so used them up on here. I kept embellishments to a minimum.

Use your stuff game night & CAS colours and sketches

At Use your stuff this time they want "games night" theme.

Here's my layout in which I have used game pieces.

Go over to Use your Stuff and join in the fun.

Over at CAS Colours & Sketches (cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com) they have a sketch.

Here's my take on the sketch, I turned it 90 degrees.

Scrap our stash remix challenge

Over at Scrap our stash they have a remix challenge featuring tearing and layering.

I chose 3 polkadot papers from my stash plus smaller scraps.

Tearing and layering was fun. I used colours to co-ordinate with the photo.

I used 2 white flowers which I inked with sage green to make them less stark. My third flower was gold and glittery. I don't have enamel dots, so used random small buttons. This one was fun to do!

Close up of the layering

And the final layout.

Mystical Sketch challenge Cyber crop

Here's the sketch for the June cybercrop.

I'm still scrapping photos from my South Australia trip in March, so chose these 2 on this layout.

It was good to be using browns again plus some gold to add a touch of class.

Also one of my cards won at 613 Avenue creates.

More than words challenge

The mini challenge at More than words is to use the word, IDOL on a card, tag, postcard or ATC.

I chose a  NEW tag, as they always come in handy either on layouts or for gifts.

I used a paper drink coaster that I found at a hotel/motel recently

I started by painting through an alphas stencil on the background using 2 different colours.
Next I inked around the edges.
I had an old birthday card featuring movie stars so cut out Fred Astaire and Charlie Chaplin and made it look like a conversation. Fred is saying "You are no matinee idol".
Using red white and blue ribbon was the finishing touch to the tag.

Shopping our stash and others.

I bought a packet of orange cardstock so have decided to make a few cards.

(Pity us Aussies don't celebrate Halloweeen.)

My first is for Shopping our stash where they want fur babies. I've made a card for a friend featuring a dog. She has rescue dogs, mainly greyhounds that are too old to race. This will suit her.

I'm sure it will be appreciated!

To use up the remaining paper, I made this one for Crafty Hazelnuts. It will go into the Father's Day cards.

This next one is for Li'l red wagon where they want us to use bits.

On this card I used an offcut of striped paper, plus an offcut of ribbon and my sentiment was made using some left over alphas. Very economical use I thought.

I'm also entering it at The Male Room where it's Dads and Grandads.

Scraproom Group challenges.

The last page in the previous post was for a challenge at the scraproom.

These 2 layouts are as well.

and

In both cases I used a kit containing 3 papers and several embellishments plus alphas.

More 8x8 pages.

I've continued to ameke more 8x8 pages for my mini album.

This will be it for now as I have no more photos of D'arenburg cube, just looking at these reminds me how wacky that place was!

June Counterfeit Kit-Mini kit

I recently found an 8x8 Kraft album I bought at TYPO.

I've decided to use my mini kit to start this along with some photos from my South Australian trip.

This is the papers from the original kit.

Here's my mini kit. I focussed on the greens and yellows.

I won't get the whole album done but can make a start and scrap a few photos in the process. There's only 3 and a half papers there so I left the cover and started on internal pages.

Here's what I managed to create with the above mini kit.

It was fun and working with 8x8 for a change was good.

Paper Issues This or that plus Scrap room Freaky Fast Friday

Paper Issues has a this or that challenge

"Avast ye! The scuttlebutt is that you are hunting for ye treasure. Make sure you follow the right path as you make your selections from the following list:

Gold or Silver
Black or White
Wood or Flair
Stripes or Polka Dots
Stickers or Ephemera
Frames or Speech Bubbles
Washi tape or Staples
Do ye think ye can find the booty or are ye just a scallywag? "

I've underlined the ones I used.

and at Scrap room they have this

I've managed to combine the 2 using neutral black and white papers. The peacock paper was given to me and as it has the silver, I used it.
We went to the top of the lighthouse, hence the Yay! sticker.

Li'l red wagon.

One of my favourite card sites is Li'l red wagon. They seem to always choose interesting themes.

This time they want masculine.

I had one large watch/clock picture left so have used it on this card for an 85 year old friend.

It is very masculine in colours, but I know it will be appreciated.
                                                          **************************

The sisterhood of crafters has a flowers challenge this time.

I have used a bouquet of flowers I fussy cut from a card. I have added a Darkroom Door sentiment and kept it plain otherwise. The colours are bright enough I think.

Male Room and Cardz 4 guyz.

At the Male Room they want cards for Dads and Grandads.

At Cardz4Guys they want father's day.

I often get asked for Pop or Poppy or Pa cards so made one this time for Pop.

It has a definite handyman flavour about it.

***********************************************************************************At The Paper craft crew they have this sketch

I have used mauve and yellows on my card.
