case this sketch

I'm starting the day with another card for Case this sketch.
This one gives the opportunity to use up scraps.
I'm making a card for a young man who loves hiking and travels to unusual places.
He recently abseiled in South America.
The papers I chose reflect the great outdoors and also match the rucksack I used.

Festive Friday

It's national unicorn day at Festive Friday.

I've chosen rhinestones, glimmer and puffy sticker.

The sticker of the dancing girl was left from a set I bought in Las Vegas.Too good to waste!
I mounted her on white card then shimmery pink corrugated card. Around the edges I added pink rhinestones. My background papers are bright to match her hair. The sentiment seems fitting.
(Hopefully,we will be celebrating soon from the end of Covid virus.)

Tuesday Taggers and others.

I'm making a few different things for different challenges.
First is a tag with the theme of Home for Tuesday taggers.
The green background is not part of the tag.
I plan to use this on a scrapbooking layout so have not put ribbon through the hole at the top.

Next is for Daring Cardmakers where the theme is recycle.

I've made this card using an old atlas page (thanks for the idea) plus a scrap of hessian that originally came from a hessian bag. With males in mind, I thought it would make a great birthday card for an older man.

My third is for scrapping 4 fun challenges  where they want candy ,cake or ice cream.

International art and soul

At International Art and soul they want green as our main colour.
I'm using scraps and making a card for a friend with birthday on 30th March.

The background paper is mainly green and the smaller rectangle is a dark olive green. Even the background on the butterfly is lime green.
A little pale blue and brown adds some interest.

Let's get sketchy

Here's the sketch for Lets get sketchy

I'm using the last piece of paper from my alternate kit which is the ombre squares.
My title was too big for the area designated so I put it top and bottom.
I have put 2 clusters of items as in the sketch.
The pastel suited this as the photos are so bright.

Paper Issues scraplift

This morning I am scraplifting a layout from Paper Issues.
I used an embossed paper from my alternative kit. Then after misting with purple, I added the 3 vertical strips of patterned paper.
My photo is triple matted as in the original.
I added yellow enamel dots in the same places and a cluster top left.
The wood veneer crowns were inked with silver to match the Jolie Boutique silver stars.

Lasting memories Leaves and flowers

This weeks challenge at Lasting Memories is use leaves and flowers.

I started by stitching 2 large circles on my background papers.
Next I made 2 clusters of flowers and leaves in the diagonal corners. They aren't pressed but are now flattened. On the bottom cluster I had a large purple flower ,which I folded to give depth to my layout.

I scattered a few smaller flowers along the stitching as well.
This layout has no title, I decided it didn't need one.

Challenge #2 Outside photos

Boldt Castle is a major landmark and tourist attraction in the Thousand Islands region of the U.S. state of New York. Open to guests seasonally between mid May and mid October, it is located on Heart Island in the Saint Lawrence River. Heart Island is part of the Town of Alexandria, in Jefferson County. Originally a private mansion built by American millionaire George Boldt, it is today maintained by the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority as a tourist attraction.

I have used my Counterfeit numbers paper for this challenge as it suited the fact we were on a 1,000 island cruise.
I had 3 photos of Boldt castle so used them all. The lace heart alludes to the fact Mr Boldt built all this for his wife.
I added stars inked with pinecone plus enamel dots and a flower. My subtitle "So very lovely" crosses over the heart. The journal tag matched in well too I thought, with the old typewriter.

Time out and flower challenges and Stamplorations.

I've made a card using my big rubber stamp crysanthemum.

I used "opera pink" versa colour ink on this card.

I'm entering it on time out challenges plus The flower challenges.

I also found this challenge  and it qualifies for that also. Stamplorations
I used a red gel pen to put some tiny dots in the flower centres. (subtle)

Festive Friday

I've made a card for Festive Friday.

We are asked to use 3 of these on our card.
I've chosen pastel colour (blues) , sunshine and flowers.
The sun is actually a glossy plastic so it could also be a 4th criteria.

Freaky fast formula

I used the kit I made yesterday on this layout.

The challenge for Freaky Fast Formula at the scraproom is this.

I misted the background with the purple mist and used some of the embellishments as well. I only added the tartan ribbon strip and the newspaper strip which was my 8.5 x 1 inch.

Khristina Creative scrapbooker

My Counterfeit kit is finished except for Challenge #2 which will appear on 18th

I discovered this idea online.
https://www.redefinedkreative.com/blog

She makes a kit from a recipe,so I thought I might try it.

Here's what I have come up with.
My papers are a striped denim and cream paper (new)
A soft blue pattern (small)
An (ombre) blue squares paper
A red and blue floral (bold)
An embossed pale blue (specialty) paper.

My embellishments follow the list.
Flower punch and stamp. I don't have any roller stamps.
Paper clips
Spring circle embellishments
Teapot chipboard ovals
Colourful alphabet.

My mist is purple so that will add some interest.

Tic tac toe challenges

I'm making 2 cards. My first is for Tic tac Toe challenge

I've gone down the centre row.

Now my next is for a similar challenge. The joy of sets
I've gone for birthday,masculine,paper piecing.

Lasting memories mix and match papers

At Lasting Memories they have a mix and match papers challenge.

I started by joining 2 half sheets of paper together. They had similar blue tones.
Next I used several strips in pink and blues across the top part of the layout.
I matted my small photo in grey and pink and added it.

My title was made by inking using crimson through a stencil. I rather like the fact that the top row isn't quite clear, it gives a "dreamy" edge to the title
I finished off with some die cuts in my kit and a flower.

Challenge YOUrself and Sketch'n'scrap

The challenge this time at Challenge Yourself is polkadots.

I just happened to have polkadots in my Counterfeit kit so started with that paper.

Also at Sketch 'n'scrap they have this sketch

It is almost identical to a previous one I did except the background paper is vertical instead of horizontal.
I layered paper offcuts I had plus a border strip which had punched circles.
I had 2 quotes which suited the photo so used them as my title and subtitle.
Finally I used some embellishments from my kit, including the sun smiling. These are my 2 best friends and we always get smiles and fun times whenever we meet.

Scraproom sketch

I usually start with a sketch so here I' being predictable again.

This sketch is at The scraproom group

Using my papers, I put pastels with different patterns together. The bright pink flower and yellow button adds a pop of colour.
I had 2 smaller word tags which went perfectly with my bird photos.

The male room

The challenge at The Male room is embossing.

I'm starting this month's kit with this card as I had some smaller pieces I added to use for cards.
My background has been embossed using swiss dots. I added a co-ordinating strip of navy. Finally I made the tag using another small scrap of turquoise plus a paperclip and brad. The alphas were left overs.

March kit CKC

This month's kit is from https://citrustwistkits.com/collections/current-kit-subscriptions/products/february-2020-scrapbooking-add-on-kit

Lori has chosen it and has suggested we add this one as well.
https://citrustwistkits.com/collections/current-kit-subscriptions/products/life-crafted-possibilities-kit-february-2020

I love both .
I've decided to see what I had out of the 2 kits.

I made a list to help me with motifs
bows
stars *
arrows
hearts
white alphas*
VW
key*
labels
happy
daisy*
sun *
lucky
love

Here's my kit: Pink and blue and primrose too!

(Explanation: Back in the days of coloured toilet paper there used to be an advertisement  with a song that went..."It's pink 'n' blue and primrose too")

The papers in the first kit look like this:

Here's mine:

You will notice the rainbow one at the front is missing. I can't visualise myself using that.

So here is the whole of my kit with embellishments.
I haven't added any bows but have lots of ribbon so might add it as needed.
