Stick it down all weekend crop

Stick it Down

Here is an old Stick it down sketch.
We've been asked to use the Pantone colour of the year, which is purple.

I've used a background paper from Paper Inklings and another from 7 dots studio on here.
This is my cousin and her 4 grown children.

Scraproom Freaky Fast Friday.

January Freaky Fast Friday Challenge

I'm doing this challenge from the Scraproom, mainly to use up scrap papers.
Most of them are from the Peachy Keen range.

I found this idea from Esther Putters blog  so will do a similar layout.

Here's my layout, different to Esther's but similar in some ways.

Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge

Here's the sketch at Atlantic Hearts.

My strips down are slightly wider, meaning that they touch. I've tapered them at the bottom.
I used 3 Graphic 45 circles inked with pinecone as my embellishments.
The twine at the top is the only colour I now own.

The Male Room

Over at The Male Room they want vintage cards.

I've used a combination of scrap paper I had plus a Darkroom Door image of a London Bus. The cork stars are from American Crafts.

Frilly and Funkie vintage

At Frilly and Funkie there is a 3 of a kind challenge.
At Simon says stamp it is add a sentiment.

I had some smaller labels and tags from Graphic 45 that I wanted to use. I also had 3 cork stars.
Using vintage looking background paper, I've assembled this card.
I'm thinking I'll put it with the mothers day cards.

Sweet sketch Wednesday.

This is the sketch for Sweet sketch Wednesday.
As mentioned in a previous post, I didn't have very much left from my Counterfeit Kit.
I did manage to squeeze out this card.

I used a playing card (queen of hearts) as my image. I also put washi tape across the bottom instead of ribbon.

Challenge #2 Inspired by nature

The Cocoa Daisy kit has a lot of nature inspired items such as pine cones, birds, trees, pine needles, berries, poinsettias etc which are so typical at this time of year. Feature something from nature on your project.

Using a Jack vine from Flourish with a bling and a handmade flower from vintage laceI constructed this layout. The striped paper and shaped framed paper are from the same range.I've chosen to use 3 photos of Zebra butterflies that I had.

Using kit leftovers plus Rochelle Speares sketch

Rochelle Speares has this use your paper challenge.
I need to add diagonal stripes as part of the challenge.

And this is all I have left from my Counterfeit kit.

Diving into my green scrap bag I found 2 different ones. I chose the darker stripes which is Colour Chaos from Bella Boulevarde. (Just enough for 2 strips)

I chose a lime green cardstock as my background and 2 photos of the Grand Canyon.
(3 won't fit).
As these are bigger photos, I'm modifying slightly. I've also tilted the top one to fit better.

I also managed to use the red flower from D-lish scraps, the remaining red stars, the hot air balloon and rhinestones. All these were in my Counterfeit kit.

Not much left of the papers now to do anything .

Challenge YOUrself

At Challenge Yourself  here is the theme.

For a start my title is LIFT me up not RAISE me up. I hope I'm forgiven.

Lift suited the chocolate idea better.

This layout is tongue in cheek.
My photo is from the Hershey shop in NYNY casino at Las Vegas.
Inside was this overwhelming smell of chocolate. Near the door was a statue of liberty made of chocolate. You can see how large it is.
Image result for hersey shop new york new york in las vegas

The statue is lifting the torch up. I was feeling tired and travel weary so the idea of chocolate was a welcome one. When making this layout this idea struck me.

Red doiley and small red words are from D-Lish scraps
Braids and ribbons were sent to me as part of a prize, as was the heart wood veneers.

Li'l red wagon & Case this sketch

The challenge at Li'l red wagon is to make a male card.

Despite Father's day being months away I'm starting early.

My card features papers from my Counterfeit kit. The mower paper is October Afternoon and looked ideal for a grandfather card.

My next card is for Case this sketch.

I've used poetic licence on this one but I was initially inspired by the sketch.

I've used more Flourish with a bling toadstools. I guess you could say I added the adornment to the bottom left corner instead of the top.
It is a birthday card for a friend who likes red.

I'm also entering this at Use your stuff where the theme is use something new.
The flourish with a bling toadstools and grass were only bought recently.

Paper Issues Scrap Soup challenge

I've started by using the reverse side of an October afternoon paper.
It features gardening items.

In my Counterfeit Kit are some Flourish with a bling toadstools.
I decided to use 3 of these plus 3 photos.
I added a strip across which is multi-coloured stripes.
My alphas are a mixture of leftover letters. Az. stands for Arizona.

Scrap the girls

Scrap the girls has a colour board this month.

Because blue is one of my 2 favourite colours, I've decided to join in.

My photo is of Maggie and Christina, the 2 ladies from Phoenix who I recently visited.
They both lead separate lives but went to Europe last year together, which is how I met them.
I recently visited them in Phoenix ,Arizona.

I had no wet mediums in these colours so........
I layered some patterned papers as my background. Next, using scraps I layered squares & rectangles.
My mat for the photo matched one of the background papers.
The camera squares are offcuts from Shimelle paper and I sewed the 3 buttons on as a final embellishment.

Mystical 5 technique challenge

Challenge #2 for January at Mystical Scrapbooks is a 5 technique challenge.
I've used roller with paint (silver) ,misting (gold), dribbling paint (green), overlapping photos and hand journaling.

That's me in the top photo on the right.

Inspired by All the little things.

This is our inspiration picture at "All the little things".
I've chosen owls.
I purposely made it non-sexist.

Paper Issues January Sketch

My patterned paper that I overlayed was an offcut. I've had it so long I forget who made it.
(Perhaps October Afternoon ??)
It was slightly narrower but that doesn't matter.
I used lots of the tags from my kit.

I've also finished off the set of glittery alphas and even used up the full stops.

Time out challenges-Thanks

The challenge at Time Out is a thank you challenge.
I've used red spotted paper with pale blue and lots of apples stickers.
It reminds me of summer.

Card challenges

4 crafty chicks has an anything goes plus die cut or punchies.

As you like it has anything goes.

Case this sketch has this

I've made this very CAS card for a new baby in our neighbourhood.
The hippo and boy sentiment are Francheville die cuts.
I bought them just after Christmas so they are new.

Stuck?! sketches

This is the sketch at Stuck?! sketches.
I've used 3 photos instead of four.

When we visited the Grand Canyon we were at the Watchtower, which is the tallest viewpoint on the South rim.
It was built in the 1920s and in those days the only way to reach the viewing platform at the top was via a ladder. More recently, there are steps around the outside of it.
Inside are windows where you can see the view behind  glass
I chose that option because it was windy outside and I'm scared of heights.

For my layout I've used my Counterfeit kit mainly.
There are 3 patterned papers and 3 photos.
This is the criteria at Mystical Scrapbooks too.
The top design took some thinking, but I finally decided on the ric rac and buttons.

I found myself singing the Jimmi Hendrix song "All along the watchtower" so that became my title.

Scrapping Clearly January challenge

I used a Fancy Pants paper from my Counterfeit kit on this layout.

Scrapping clearly has a sketch

To begin with I used a sponge through a mask with black coffee  to create the brown dots.

After layering my papers and adding photos I used a neutral title and some Bella Boulevarde puffy stars.

The hessian flower is from D-Lish scraps and the chipboard is from Portacraft.

Here's my layout

and the sketch which I can't reduce in size.

No automatic alt text available.

Scraplifting.

I saw this layout on Pinterest and thought I would scraplift it.
One of the things I'm trying to use up is those strips that cut off the bottom of papers.

In this case I used a Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine spotted paper from my kit then added strips in tones of dark greens and blacks.
My photo is of a group of palm trees I saw in Las Vegas.

I used a big ribbon bow plus a wood veneer heart and a big paperclip as the main embellishments.

Let's scrap

This is the double sketch at Let's scrap.

I've spent this morning working on this, using my Counterfeit Kit. "Not yet Santa" which features red and green.

Here's the LHS page.
and the second
and finally, the stitched double layout.

I think the bingo card and the Bella Boulevarde puffy star are appropriate, don't you?

Use your stuff

A new month,a new year and time to say Thank you to a few people.

At Use Your Stuff it is anything goes.
at Cute card Thursday it is anything goes

I've used my new Counterfeit kit to make this thank you card, which hints at Christmas but doesn't exactly say Christmas.

First layout.

I've set myself a challenge to use my Counterfeit Kit but not do Christmas.

So here's my first

On this layout I have stitched a large piece of hessian and used a large library pocket I've had for ages to store my journaling. The black tag hanging under the photo is one of a set I made for Forgeries on the Fourth.

This is the Fair Isle Cocoa daisy kit.
https://www.cocoadaisy.com/product/november-2017-fair-isle-memory-keeping-12x12-kit/

And these are accompanying cards

This is the basis of our January kit to Counterfeit.

Looking through my red and green papers, then embellishments I came up with this.

I've named my kit "Not yet Santa" as I'm totally over Christmas and don't want to think about it again for at least 6 months. Yes, just call me scrooge!
