Curtain Call Challenges & Alphabet challenge

My card today is for Curtain call challenges where the theme is woven.

Among the scraps on my desk was a square of hessian.
I chose tawny gold patterned paper named Bazaar.
The flip side had the blue dotted pattern and the border strip is the one I used along the bottom.
After adding flowers and my tiny sentiment , it is ready to give to my friend who loves oranges & gold tones. (She hates the idea of being so old)

I'm also entering it on Alphabet challenge where it is Y for you choose.
Finally thanks for looking and PLEASE leave a comment. (Just say hello!)

MOVE challenge at Mystical

At Mystical Scrapbooks there is a cyber crop on and this challenge involves using the word "MOVE" in any way you like.

I searched through some old photos and found this one of me with an old water pump.
My husband was telling me to move the handle up and down, except it was rusted in place.

Shopping our stash and Cardz4guyz

Over at Shopping our stash they want valentines cards without any hearts.
I kept my card "all purpose".
My sentiment says Better together and could equally apply to friends or for an older couple's anniversary etc.

At Cardz4guyz they want us to use no patterned paper.
I could have embossed on my cuttlebug ,but decided to use ribbon and brads instead.

My sentiment is a ? which means
a) you don't know how old he is or b) you're asking him to explain something.

Mojo Monday

The sketch at Mojo Monday looks like this

I've decided to make a male card as they are my biggest sellers.

I've taken the photo upright and reduced it upright. In "my pictures" it is upright but on here it goes sideways. If you know why it is doing this please tell me!

Crafting when we can.

I've made an embossed and very subdued card for http://craftingwhenwecanchallenges.blogspot.com.au/ where they want flowers.
These were the 2 remaining flowers from Pink Paislee in my kit.
I matted them on white then lilac and finally on to a white card embossed with gifts.

Studio Challenge and freshly made sketches

Because of the hot weather we are experiencing here in Sydney, I have found time to scrapbook using this month's Counterfeit kit.

This is for the studio challenges and I've chosen a song by Cara Dillon.

http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/c/cara_dillon/standing_on_the_shore.html

The title on my layout doesn't have a G at the end of standing, but otherwise it is the same.

I used colours of blues and greens, the olive green matches Pat's cardigan.
I also used a large p for Pat and j for Julene on the photos.(Good way to use up random consonants).
Yes that tiny dot in the distance is me.

and while I'm scrapping I did a card for Freshly made sketches.
Here's mine

She loves red and loves her garden.

Everything on here is from OCTOBER AFTERNOON.
Here's the sketch I used

Show us your stuff & shopping our stash

Show us your stuff this month has a sketch

I've started with an old photo featuring my 2 best friends, plus myself. It was taken at the southern most tip of NZ in 1979.
This set me off using numbers and letters based on the signs.
I misted using gold, through a clock mask.
I've also dribbled yellow Kaiser mist.
Some of the papers and layers involve words and numbers.
The reason is we are all teachers. Barbara is High School Maths and Ann and I taught primary.
Both of them have been a best friend for over 40 years.

I hand made the pleated flower bottom left.

And at Shopping our stash they want lots of blue, so I whipped up this card for a man's birthday.
I love the Basic Grey Bow tie paper I used.

Daring cardmakers

This is the stimulus picture at Daring cardmakers.
I've used a key, a hexagon and cogs (chipboard) inked with old paper colouring.
The background paper reminded me of hexagons too until I counted the sides, they are pentagons.
It is a 21st Card for a male.

Mini kit cards and Stamping sensations

I used my mini kit to make this bundle of 10 cards.
Hope you like them!

At Stamping Sensations they want animals plus the stamp must be the focal point.
I made this birthday card featuring 2 geese.
My happy birthday stamp is the prominent feature on this card. Those wacky geese just add interest.

February Mini kit

😅😅😏😏😉😉😉😉I am now part of the B team at counterfeit Kit Challenges.
This month I'm asked to make up a mini kit based on the monthly kit.

Here's my card kit
3 papers, 3 coloured cardstock plus some offcuts that were embossed in the cuttlebug.

(You've got the whole coffee table shot, because when I upload the cropped picture, blogger turns it upside down-go figure!)
You can even see my toes

And a close up of those embellishments from Pink Paislee.

(of course I have extra papers! You know me.)

Special wedding card.

A dear friend's son is getting married in March. The wedding theme is pink.

I used mainly pink(slightly coral background) with pale grey squares and silver enamel dots.
The background is using gesso and a mask and the chipboard was painted white.

I've made this card with several challenges in mind.
Firstly, Scrap Therapy where "It's time for tea"

Also for Word art Wednesday where the inspiration is anything goes, but with this verse.

"And now abideth faith, hope and charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity".  (KJV)  It's a verse that is often read at weddings.
My card is for a wedding so this fits.

Next for In the Pink challenges where the theme is "With Love"

and for Mojo Monday where I used the sketch.

Scrapping Outback and a scraplift

At Scrapping Outback this is the colourscheme.

White with lavender/lilac and kraft/brown.

I've gone with a more chocolate/pinecone colour on this layout.

Next, I've used the last of my January Counterfeit Kit on this scraplift of Shimelle using wood veneers.

Big birthday and Use Your Stuff.

This card was made for Case this sketch, but I missed the close.
I've stamped the word birthday, used the last of the letters from a set of alphas for "big" and some pretty paper as well.

Next I have a card for Use your stuff where they want an animal theme.
In my stash I had some October Afternoon items, which came together well on this card for a 2 year old.

Butterfly spot challenge

At Butterfly challenge they want UNDERNEATH OR UMBER.
I've managed to do both.
The floral background contains the colour Umber.
I placed a rectangular picture of butterflies underneath a copper frame cut from foam core board.
The white you can see is the walls of the board.
I finished off the card with 3 wood veneer butterflies and 15 is my sentiment as it is for a birthday.
