Frosted Designs using 7 gypsies etc

Everything on this page except the photos is from my Counterfeit Kit.

I've used 7 gypsies papers containing numbers,both the whole sheet and the bingo numbers.
The large journaling tag behind the acropolis photo is 7 gypsies as well.
The stencil for the large heading is Fancy Pants and I've used pinecone ink.
The smaller title,I actually cut from the packaging.
Finally the little wooden cameras are Studio Calico wood veneers.
Frosted Designs this month ask for numbers on a layout so I think this one qualifies.

Why I became a teacher at Use your Stuff

This layout didn't need much embellishment with the background patterned paper!
I made a list of the reasons why I became a teacher.

The books and apples are from a Jolees embellishment kit.
I've used a photo of a young me with my favourite class ever, taken in 1985.

My trusty scanner nearly had heart failure when I tried to scan this,so I have taken a cloudy afternoon photo of it.

A2Z blind scrap challenge

The challenge at A2Z scraplets was a blind scrap. We had to use a A2Z  word and the only one I had says beach.
The layout began well but a few disasters ensued.

First when pouring out pva glue for the twine, I spilled it. On the layout of course!!!
So I thought quickly and saw buttons from my Counterfeit Kit nearby.
Next after misting my chipboard with "sugar maple" I decided to use rusting powder.
This involves vinegar and leaving it overnight to change colour.....it didn't! So the dribbled grey effect on the H and below it should be a rusty brown.
Luckily my sewing machine worked fine on the stitching and the rest came together okay.

I hope you will forgive all that and enjoy what I have created!

A Camp Mojo layout

There was a negative sketch challenge over at Soul Scrappers so I spread it out slightly and produced this.
It features the flash mob after our production of "Born this way". We all had matching T shirts with various scrapping related slogans on it.
The colours in the photo gave me an excuse to use pink, lime green and purple papers plus some lettering, rub-ons and doiley from my Counterfeit Kit. The little stapled embellishments are an idea on CKC a few months ago.

Colour me scrappy

The colour palette is shown above and again apples feature. The twist is to use the sketch. I've dug into my Counterfeit Kit and found papers and items in the appropriate colours.
I've even used one of the polaroid frames I made and stamped with a bicycle rider.
Annabelle and Christopher found an old bike in the shed and were trying to be clever.
 You can see the result in the last picture.

Looking from above that washi tape looks extremely curved. I can assure you it is straight.
Because of the buttons I couldn't scan this layout successfully.

CASology Week #60

I had about 3 pages left from an Imaginesce 6x6 paper pad on my mat and thought what will I do with these?
It was called "sweet cider". CASology this week has the theme of Apples. It couldn't have been better. So here's my card featuring the named paper plus a skeleton leaf and a Pebbles Inc. Chalkboard strip with the word, Thanks. The card is white.
People don't say that enough these days!

Project Completion challenge x 2

PROJECT ONE

12 years ago when I started scrapping I made this double layout.

Isn't it awful? That was in the days of matting on cardboard and sticking it on.
I've always thought I'd go back and fix it one day.
Well, the days have come.
I started with 2 papers from my current Counterfeit Kit.

I especially chose the train one with this project in mind.
I had 2 sheets of the orange, so I also added a pale orange cardstock.
Here's my remakes. It ended up being 3 pages but I'm happy with that.

I thought the flags were appropriate.

and the tickets pennant on the second one too.

The first 2 were for challenges last month so that gave me the sketches to use for designing them.
The 3rd one is a free scrap.

I've used the framework of mini letters as the track on the background of the photos and some Echo Park train stickers.As these 4 photos were different sized I couldn't put them together in a square.
You will agree these look much better.As the train was painted a peach colour they actually match.

PROJECT TWO
An untidy noticeboard hanging above my computer and scrapping desk.

I use the calendar to write my challenge dates on for DT work.
The rest is cards,scraps of paper etc I have collected over the past 3 or more years.

I won a bella coaster album in a challenge and thought about an address book mini album idea.

 Using 7 gypsies papers from my September kit, I have created a cover and pages.
On the reverse side I have added ruled paper cut from an old desk diary.I sanded after gluing and you can see the outline tears away cleanly.

This gives me 12 pages including the covers on which to write addresses etc.
On the back inside cover I added a pocket to hold business cards.

So the mini album is complete

and my notice board

The remaining pieces of paper are passwords for Norton, facebook etc,

 plus the website for the local movie theatre.

You will agree it looks much better.
