Use your stuff and Cardz4guyz

At Use your stuff we have a sketch challenge.

and here is my layout. Dr Harry is a TV vet on Australian television.

Those papers are straight...the dots on the blue create an optical illusion.

And at Cardz 4 Guyz the challenge is monochrome.
My card is using pinky tans and browns.
I've used the B side of one of my dotty papers on this as my background.

cas(e) this sketch

I've used this sketch, plus some leftover bits from last month's kit to make this card.

and I made a 2nd one, just for fun!

May forgeries on the fourth

I altered 2 papers for my May Counterfeit Kit  "Gone Dotty".

The first was a plain grey charcoal piece. I measured and ruled white strips from a second sheet of patterned paper, that are 3.5 cm wide. I adhered them to the grey paper at equal widths. voila! striped paper.

My second was a striped piece of paper that I bought really cheaply.(I think it was 10 cents)

I found what was left from my daughter's gel pens. (They are about 15 years old.)
There were only 5 colours that worked (including a bright florescent pink and orange-GULP!)
I used these to create my own chevron paper similar to the one on the bottom row in the original kit.
This scan is only part of the page but you get the idea I'm sure.

I've used it on the air conditioning layout I did recently.

Toot! I won feature card at Stick it down

Die cuttin divas and Shopping our stash

At Die Cuttin Divas there is a sketch challenge and at Shopping our stash they've asked us to use up what is on our desk and use pink.

The printed page on the right is pink writing and there are pink flowers on the die cut.
(Hope that is enough). All these scraps were from last month's kit and I'm keen to use them.

Here's my card.

Upon Westminster Bridge at Show Us Your Stuff.

UPON WESTMINSTER BRIDGE by William Wordsworth.
Earth has not anything to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth like a garment wear

The beauty of the morning: silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky,
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.

Never did sun more beautifully steep
In his first splendour valley, rock, or hill;
Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!

The river glideth at his own sweet will:
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!
                                                   ******************
I learnt this poem in high school and could repeat it parrot fashion in 1969.
In 2009 my daughter and I went to England and stayed in Lambeth, right near the bridge.
On our first day there we walked across it, stopping in the middle.
I started to recite the poem, much to my daughter's amazement!
(Amazing what sticks in the back of your brain.)

This layout features 3 photos from that day. I don't look very happy, I think it was cold.
I've used gold hearts plus a hessian tag that I made myself from recycled items.(hessian, cardboard, scrap paper,3 screws and sticker). I hope the tag qualifies!
It is a traditional style layout, but I like it.
It is for http://showusyourstuff.blogspot.com.au/

Man style layout.

My first layout this month isn't very pretty. I wanted to record each big thing I have done at my new house.
This is the air conditioning being installed.
As most of it happened up in the roof, I could only take a couple of "before" photos.
I was lucky to get a snap of Glen up the ladder in my lounge-room as he worked so fast.
There are quite a few smaller bits from my kit on there.

Before I reveal my kit:-
A big welcome to Jane from http://alittlescrap.blogspot.com.au/ who is our guest DT this month.

Now on to the Counterfeit kit. I've decided to call it "Gone dotty"

All my papers have dots or spots. (Except that striped one :)  )

And a few extras. I wanted a floral one like picture 2 of the original kit, but found one WITH DOTS

My embellishments are everything I could find that was round or spotted.

I've put ALL my enamel dots in, also some silver stickers (Dots of course)

My alphas were the problem.......had no patterned alphas except tiger print (spots)....so I'm including them.
The others are reasonably neutral.

Something tells me I'll be using a fair amount of plain cardstock this month.

Now I'm seeing spots before my eyes!
