Mojo Monday #433

I'm made a welcome to home card for somebody using more items from my Counterfeit Kit.
The branch and sentiment are from the Cedar Lane collection by Pink Paislee.

Scrapping Clearly.

How did Scrapping clearly know this month's Counterfeit Kit was blues?
I've had the background October Afternoon paper for ages and keep looking at it.
I decided it could be the background on this layout.
There is also half a Ruby Rockit mosaic "August Moon" paper and more ombre paper that I painted.
It was stitched around the edges with zigzag for texture.
This morning I re-discovered some gauze so it has become another layer.

My pennants and tape measure are from Kaisercraft "Bundle of Joy".
The bow tag is also OA and the 2 vellum bows were sent to me as a prize in another challenge, as was the flower.
There's not one butterfly on this ,but otherwise it is meeting the criteria.

Mystical scrapbooks & Let's get sketchy

The 1st February challenge at Mystical scrapbooks is the following:
Use 2 primary colours
Lined paper
At least 2 staples
Buttons
paperclip
and add either a stamped image or punch or die cut item.

To get an idea for my layout I went to Let's get sketchy

My 2 primary colours are red and blue.
I've used an October Afternoon paper "Fly a kite" that I bought from Mystical.
There is also a fringed paper I made.
The 2 staples are on the photo mat
My lined paper is on the top of the photo where it says basics.(A recycled BG packet)
My die cut item is actually an old slide mount that I have also painted.
The ribbon is tied loosely as the top of the card tore.

A teaching colleague recently toured Vietnam and Cambodia, so you will see 3 photos from there this month. This is the first.

Stuck?!

Here is the first February Stuck sketch

I've used more of the ombre items I altered including one of the backing papers ,a circle and a chipboard flourish.
They made a wonderful background for these 2 photos of a friend and his granddaughter on the beach.
I've added Gold Heidi Swapp lettering and sparkly items along with buttons.
The toothpick arrow is Pink Paislee Cedar Lane.
I also used a cork embellishment that says make everything as simple as possible.
There are tiny "nods" to the pink in the photo, by me using pink thread in one of the buttons plus on the arrow.

Forgeries on the fourth

Here's a reminder of my kit

My forgeries are simple (like me).
First the hello paper
                                                                1.
Using my blue dottariffic pen I simply wrote hello over and over across the paper.

2.
Next the ombre paper
I painted across the paper starting with white and adding in more blue as I went.

I will fringe this as I need it.

3.

On the other one I added blobs of paint, then swirled them around to cover the surface.
Next ,I wiped over the whole thing with a baby wipe.
It emulated the pink mottled one here

This gives me these 3 papers.
                                                                           4.
To get something similar to the gold side with hearts, I've used my gold stamp pad and my old star stamp from my teaching days.
This gives me this sheet

                                                              *********************
I also painted some slide mounts a flower and some frames using the same technique.(see bottom left of my kit)
I told you they were simple!!
I've used the hello paper, the star paper and one ombre on this layout.
There is also the chipboard flower.

Scrap the boys and Show us your stuff

This is the sketch challenge at Scrap the boys.

and at Show us your stuff we are asked to use a quote "To me you are perfect."

I've combined the 2 challenges.
My handmade item is a wood veneer M that I altered using texture paste and pain to give a mottled effect. I hope this counts as handmade.
I started by cutting 3 wide strips from 3 patterned papers(one hand coloured) in my kit.
Next, I applied sticker strips across 2 of them.
I knew my title would be huge & didn't want to confuse the layout any more so left the moddle strip out.
I machine stitched the 2 circles ,then inked over them to "grunge' my layout.
I  placed my matted photo and used 2 Scrapmatts Federation border chippies.
More sticker stars and collection at the top including one saying "My family".
This is my great nephew who is nearly 16.
I added the large grey arrow for more grunge.
Finally, I put my title on, including the hand altered M.

February Counterfeit Kit

Welcome to another month of surprises with our Counterfeit Kits!
During January Bethany showed us this kit.
My first reaction was "not another pink and jade kit!"
So, this month I'm going very rogue.

Better show you the original first though.

My first attempt was to see what I had in pink & jade, not much after November and January's kits.

Next, I looked for pattern.

I found scallop papers in blue. I found fine typing in blue. I can do watercolour paint for ombre.
I have gold accents .I can counterfeit that "hello " paper.

Here's my counterfeit kit.

Introducing BLUE 2 U

There's features common with the original
 ombre-papers plus embellishments/tags,(counterfeited)
 hello paper (counterfeited)
scalloped paper
navy cardstock
jade cardstock
 gold writing plus hearts
cedar lane toothpick arrows

I haven't gone too heavy on the embellishments. I'm trying to use what is there.
Here's my alphas

And a few last minute items
I added the red hearts for Valentines Day cards.

So there you have it, a blue kit with touches of gold, black and a tiny bit of brown and pink.
Now here's the order for the hop.
