A place to start and Tuesday Taggers

I'm just finishing up my February kit with some cards. This first one is for A Place To Start where they want things in the air. I chose butterflies.

I used 3 die cut butterflies I had in a pack and added them to baby boy paper. Also on there is some soft blue ribbon and my sentiment.

Next, I have a card for Tuesday taggers, where they want embossing.

I embossed a clear sheet of acetate over a black background. Then I chose red and white to stand out against it.

Hope you like it. :)

Second national park layout.

I've used the same tartan paper and cream on this second layout about my visit to Royal National Park.

It features 4 photos plus a large wooden deer. I also added the last of the crochet lace edging and a dot saying Wednesday and the daisy with ladybird.

Sketches in Thyme #650

Here's another layout from Sketches in Thyme.

My interpretation started with 2 photos of a National Park near me.

The plaid paper made a good background. I used another cream paper for matting and the left-hand strip. My title fitted perfectly.

I added the word, beauty plus 3 bubble top picture embellishments from Kaiser. I also added a gingham green heart as well as the big brad that held the gold organdie ribbon in place. Lastly, I found a quote It's always summer which suited the theme.

Soul scrappers plus another

Here's 2 pages I have made with my kit.

This first page was for a challenge at Soul Scrappers.

I'm pleased to use the organdie ribbon and vintage lace on here. I inked the monkey and drew on the face.

The second page was just to complete this set of photos. What a cheeky kid he is!

Here's what they look like together. Not an exact match but close enough.

Neglected stuff challenge.

At neglected stuff challenge they want us to use something that has been in our craft stash for years!

I could fill a room with that but have made another card today.

Still using the same baby boy paper but this time I added lace and ribbon down the left hand side then created a "present" using silver metallic cardstock plus pale blue ribbon.

The lace and blue ribbon have been in my stash for over 10 years. I think Mum might have bought it to make baby knitting items.  Anyway it will be another card ready for when someone has a baby boy.

2 baby boy cards.

In my Counterfeit kit I put some baby paper to use.

Today I made 2 cards with baby boy in mind.

This first one features 3 VERA critters which are mice doing various things and a cork sentiment.

The pictures are like decoupage stickers and seemed suitable for a baby boy.

I'm entering this card at Critter crazy challenge.

My second card is to use a Jolee's boutique pack I've had for years.

I cut my sentiment from a branding strip on Cocoa vanilla paper.

New car at Lasting Memories

While Jayzee was mumbling into his microphone at the superbowl, I spent my time making a layout.

This one is for Lasting Memories.

The challenge is horizontal papers. I started with the travel themed stamps then used 3 other paper plus a branding strip and a row of ribbon at the bottom.

I put the photo and journal card on angles to break up all the strips across.

My daughter has a new VW which she calls Black Betty. (She formerly had a red VW beetle that she called Betty beetle.)

FFF at the Scraproom and Challenge YOUrself.

Here's the recipe for this month's Freaky fast formula.

I chose a neutral paper which had small gold "coins" on it. The 4 squares are cut from some wedding invitation paper which is 8.5 x 11. So, we had silver and gold. The long strips are blue and wood tones (neutral). I put my Simple stories title over the 2 top strips and added some matching hearts plus a Cocoa Vanilla flair. I also added a foam cork clock from my kit.

Because it features me in the photo plus hearts, it qualifies me for Challenge YOUrself.

Inspired by that layout I went on to make a second one to match

Here they are stitched together

The Male Room

This card is for The male room where it is monochromatic.

I used a range of papers from Kaisercraft which features this greeny grey colour.

This can work for a birthday or Father's day.

Ellibelle's corner

I made this swan card for Ellibelle's corner. where they want feathers or fur.

In my case it is feathers. I found this swan picture in my stash and thought it was cute. This card might go into my Mother's Day box. I used 2 strips or offcuts from my Counterfeit kit as my background then put the swan, so it looks like it is on the water. A simple sentiment "Love you" works on here.

Tic tac toe at Soul Scrappers

Here's the challenge for tic tac toe at Soul Scrappers. I decided to go across the top row.

The paper is quite busy and hard to work out what to do with it. I had a chipboard genie bottle or vase in my kit so inked it in silver. The puffy stickers are Kaisercraft curios which have a plastic dome over the top to make them 3D. Everything on here is from my kit. I used another black and silver paper for my matting.

Li'l red wagon and shopping our stash.

The challenge at Li'l red wagon is teddy bears.

A cardmaker friend gave me some "Forever friends" paper tole pieces. I've used the bear on this Christmas card. I'm now replenishing my Christmas card boxes..

At Shopping our stash they wanted us to use crafty remnants already on our desk.
I used the silver spotted paper which was 6x6 and the top strip that says I love you which were both in my kit. The red spotted ribbon was from last month's kit and not long enough to put away for another time. "Hey there" was cut from Cocoa Vanilla packaging. The parrot was from an old Christmas card. (I save suitable pictures for occasions like this.

Farmquest

At Farmquest this time they want anything kitchen or dining room.

A few years ago, I made a set of retro looking AST with a kitchen theme. I already used 2 others for previous Farmquest challenges.

However, this is a new unseen one.

Here's Mum writing her shopping list in the kitchen. Exactly what I did this morning before doing my groceries. I've used mainly green colour on this.

Cardz 4 Guyz

At cardz 4 guyz they want lighthouses.

I've made this one for Valentines Day. I had the card from a range of scrapbooking papers so matted it, layered it and added some bling.

What's in the bickie tin?

I was in this Design Team previously and Donna has decided to resurrect it again.

 What's in the bickie tin?

You can join in on the blog or on Facebook.

Here's the February sketch

 and my interpretation.

I've added these 2 close up shots of the flowers and ribbon areas.

Why not go and join in the fun?

Scraplifting myself.

I started my new kit yesterday by trying to use up some scraps.

This is an older photo but I like it so scrapped it on here. Pro Hart is an Australian artist and I visited his studio in Broken Hill.

I used a neutral paper plus several branding strips in co=ordinating colours. I added some strips of crochet lace every so often for texture. I also found a quote that was suitable so added that as well.

I based this around this layout that I did a few years ago. I had added extra embellishment there.

February Counterfeit kit

Here's the kit we are to counterfeit for February.
It is Kitaholic kits from May 2024.

https://www.kitaholickits.com/product-page/may-2024-main

Misty says "I chose this kit because most of it reminded me of a cabin in the woods. While it can have a winter vibe for those in the northern hemisphere, it is flexible enough to fit many themes. Got travel stories? There are hints of that in here too. Scrapping boys? Most definitely. Want the florals? I spy some of those too. I hope no matter what stories you have to tell, you’ll find this kit will have you covered."

My Kit:      Cabin Fever

I started with my media items.
Versa inks in cyan, cream, lavender and silver plus inca gold paste in silver.

Next, I searched through my papers and came up with these.

I also found a few part pages so added those too.

My embellishments include ribbons and some laces. I also found flairs, cork items, chipboard and wood veneers

I chose green and brown alphas to start with but might possibly add more.

I'm also adding these items as embellishments.
