Holly and the Ivy challenge and Christmas card throwdown.

 My next card is for the Holly and the Ivy challenge where it is anything goes.

I've used 3 more small wood veneer trees on this card with a wooden background. It gives a male aspect to me. I often have requests for men's Christmas cards so this will definitely sell.

At 52 Christmas card throwdown there is a recycling challenge.

I've made this card using some packaging that looks like fabric for my neutral reindeer background.

I used an offcut from a 12x12 paper pad featuring stripes on rest of my card.

The ribbon was cut from a label tag from something I bought

and my sentiment came from an old Christmas card. So, the only new things are the 2 reindeers.

Peace on Earth challenge

 Peace on Earth challenge has this picture

I remembered I had some wood veneer reindeers so used those plus a pine tree. I put them on wood patterned background paper that has snowflakes.

I like this one as it is a manly looking card .

While I had them out, I actually made 4 similar cards using red and green reindeers.

Allsorts challenge

 A friend gave me some paper tole items for Christmas card making. Here's my first one.

That bear wearing mittens has 5 layers. Accompanying it was the label that said "Forever friends" which I used as my sentiment. It's a fairly plain card but some people like the pastel look. In my sale box it goes!

I'm entering it at Allsorts challenge where the theme is cute and cuddly. A teddy bear is definitely both cute and cuddly.

It is based on this sketch

The strip down the middle is gold papery ribbon. I recycled the circular sentiment from another Christmas card I was sent last yesr.I decided to put my sentiment in the circle instead of at the bottom left. 

Festive Friday and Crafty Catz

 

It's odd socks day at Festive Friday so they want us to choose 3 things from the list.

I have gone with bold colours, sequins and "Be Yourself"

I actually made 3 cards using this paper.

Next, I have a card for Crafty Catz

The criteria ia Anything goes and use dies or punches.

The pale green square is a die cut and the Christmas bauble is also a die cut. I added the black bow and drew in the cord from the top of it.

It also is for CAS on Sunday where they asked us to use a corner of your card. 

Cardz4guyz

 At Cardz4guyz they want something starting with T.

I made this card using a tiger I fussy cut from an old children's book. I added a matching colourful strip behind my sentiment. 

It will be a thank you card for a neighbour. 

PINspirational challenges

 Over at Pinspirational challenges they asked for shapes.

I've made this card which was inspired by the background paper. WAVES.

I cut out extra coloured "oval" shapes to add on top of the waves..

CKC Let's get sketchy

 The 3rd challenge at Counterfeit Kits this month is to use this sketch.

Here's my interpretation using 3 photos of my friend's orchids. I've stayed fairly close to the sketch as you can see.

Penultimate layout with my kit

 This morning I have made this layout using yet another sheet of the rose paper plus many scraps.

On this one I managed to use up the plaid paper, the brown paper, the spotted washi tape, the alphas, plus I added the bird and tiny flower as well.

Now I only have scraps left. 

Another kit layout.

 Another paper from this month's kit used with this layout. It's very busy because the photos have a lot in them. I used another 4 photos on the brown chevron paper. I added some yellow ric rac in 2 sizes and some wood veneers. On the side there is a round tag which was dipped in walnut ink and stamped. I used more of the TLC letters too.

Challenge yourself -circles

 I've been trying to use up alphas, so on this layout I started with 2 semi circles using alphas.

Next, I stamped and misted over the top. 

This created a mixed media background for my photos which are more of my wedding proofs.

I placed the proofs withing the circle and added the date of our wedding.

In the top corner I added a hot air balloon cut from an old picture dictionary. It has another circle as the balloon. I hand cut out clouds and added a blue border strip under the photos. It also has smaller circles as part of its design. The orange strip at the top similarly, has a circular design. 

sketch and scrap plus soul scrappers charm challenge

 Sketch 'n' scrap has this sketch

I prepared my 2 papers from my kit then used washi tape across top and bottom and an ombre ribbon across the middle.

I matted my 2 photos on large journal cards which had an autumn theme.

I added the border strip of butterflies across the top.

After placing my photos on the page, i added several puffy stickers that had a nature theme and 3 sticker hearts. I added 2 circular tags at the bottom and the word awesome. I also added "The voice of spring" tag under my photo. Lastly, I added the title including the word charming which qualifies me for Soul Scrappers charm challenge. 

Li'l red wagon

 Li'l red wagon wants black white and one other colour.

I chose mauve. 

I've used a crimson red card but if you ignore that the actual card fulfills the entry. 

Time out challenges

 At Time out challenges they want a card featuring coffee.

Here's one I made using an AST I had previously done. It features a jar of coffee.

I also used wet coffee to dye or stain the paper on the playing card. 

Soul Scrappers poltergeist challenge plus another one to match.

 This layout is for another challenge at Soul Scrappers where we had to feature a child, a teddy bear and outlined title.

On here I used an offcut in neutral colour as my mat plus a rather colourful journal card. I had to hand draw then cut out my teddy bear and similarly hand write my title word, "sharks". I added a wire boy top left 2 stars on toothpicks top right and used decorative scissors on my sign.

It is based on sketch #632 at Sketches in Thyme.

This second layout was on the same day same place so I decided to make it a double. I used 3 pieces of 6x6 paper on my grid background. I used the same striped ribbon plus navy washi tape for my vertical strips. There's another tag for more journalling.

Soul Scrappers sketch and colour challenges

 My next layout is for a sketch challenge at Soul Scrappers

I had a portrait photo of a dog so here's my layout.

I used some puffy stickers on this plus 2 lots of satin ribbon that I've had for years.

The next challenge at Soul Scrappers is a colour challenge

My mind went to an old church we visited while on holiday

I used 3 layered journal cards on this plus a flair, a brad, a chipboard buckle and a backpack from my kit.

In case you haven't worked it oput the papers were cut and both parts used on these 2 layouts.

At Cut it up they want a song inspired card.

I had these wild asparagus alphas and wanted to use them up so made this card.

It will work well for general birthday or Father's day card.

October Counterfeit Kit

 Another month rolls by and here we are in October! The weather is getting warmer, the spring flowers are out and In USA it's Fall or Autumn to us Aussies.

This kit has a definite Autumnal feel as well as farm/country ideas.

Our Guest is Liz Hays Getter and a big welcome to her.

With autumn/haystacks/sunflowers and denim in my mind, I came up with my kit "Hoedown time "

(Did I ever tell you I used to do square dancing? )

Firstly, my papers.

I have 6 sheets of that rose paper top left so put them all in my kit. There's a couple of plaids and some tiny geometrics.

Next my embellishments,

I added ric-rac braid and vintage lace to get the country vibe. There's a couple of journal cards with an autumn theme plus some punched flowers and die cut flowers as well.I added some neutral tags plus twine.
