The new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations is a colour challenge
There isn't much yellow, but the pineapple stands out on the drink. I chose not to have a sentiment as I'm not sure how it will be used yet. Probably a birthday card though.
At the card concept they want Red, white and blue.
I used a nautical themed journal card I have that features a lighthouse. As you can see, I matted it with blue then had another white layer and finally the red background.
Today I've made a simple card for little red wagon (lilredwagon.blogspot.com)
They want one -layer cards.
It could be used for a child or an adult.
The Paper Funday Challenges has an anything goes challenge with the optional Flower shoppe.
I've just made a card using scraps from my Counterfeit kit, which has layers AND a flower.
This is also using papers from my Counterfeit kit.
I doodled the daisies and fussy cut the flowers that stick out.
It was for a sketch at Paper Issues.
At Daring Cardmakers they want male cards.
These 2 pictures from an old children's annual have been hanging around my craft room for ages, so I decided to use them.
I followed Tatra's post om you tube and created a copycat layout.
Iron Crafter - May 2024 - SCRAPS (youtube.com)
I used items in my kit on here and worked as close as I could to the original.
I'm so pleased to use some of the scraps,.and the American crafts very busy paper. I must admit I find those papers overwhelming.
I mixed my alphas to try to use up those black ones. I used foam tabs to make the 2 tags/pockets stand up from the background. I found the chipboard buttons handy to cover up a tear in the paper. My 2 leaves don't exactly match but they both look okay on the top left as they're facing the same way.
The black section goes all the way around but of course the scanner chopped it off.
I've made this card for Make my challenges where they want florals.
I used a bright floral pattern paper then added some daisy lace down the side of the card.I'm also entering this at The Paper funday challenge where they want flowers
At soul scrappers they have a blast off challenge.
Each month we are asked to use that recipe to create a layout.
Here's mine for this month. I don't have sequins so used blue water droplets.
Yesterday I created a double layout using more of my Counterfeit kit.
I had the menu from the high tea plus 7 photos.
I used 2 papers featuring teacups and teapots which you can hardly see now they're done. Then I used 2 large heart-shaped doileys as a mat for my photos. After arranging the photos where I wanted, I added some chipboard buttons and uniquely creative stickers. My title was spread across the 2 pages. My final item was a small pink circular journal card.
Here are the separate pages.
It's time for making another card before I go to bed. Farmquest wants a rolling pin.
I recently had some playing cards so made ASTs with cooking themes.
One of them I used on this card.
I inked the chipboard sentiment with pinecone to match the rolling pin. I made this card to thank my neighbour who often brings me a scone or some cake that she makes.
Lasting memories wants a layout inspred by a book title.
I've chosen an old Classic "Tom Brown's school days".
This layout features school themed items like book paper, spectacles, clocks, bicucle and a black tassel like you would see on a mortar board at graduation. The photo is an old one from the 1960s taken at a school near my home. I have memories of sitting in a circle like that for reading lessons.
It was a good layout for using up bits and pieces.
I found a small square envelope so decided to make a card to fit in it.
I'm using the sketch at Atlantic hearts. I went on a tropical theme here with pineapples and flip flops and my sentiments says "Happy Days". It could work as a get-well card or maybe a travel card.
Dirty mark top right is on my scanner.
Our first challenge this month at Counterfeit Kit is to be geometric.
This worked well for me as I have 2 circle patterned papers in my kit. I used one of them, featuring tiny circles in rows, as my background.
I next cut a large cardstock circle to place in the centre.
I had painted some chipboard circles and arranged them on the side rim. I then cut my photo into a circle, placing it on the right-hand side.
I had a tag of a bicycle which I added as the wheels are circles. The background of it is stamped.
Finally, I added a coloured tab, another pink circle from my kit plus my title and journaling.
This layout is for challenge yourself where they want fussy cutting.
When we were in Germany I visited the Steiff shop to buy a gift for my daughter.
On this layout I used mulberry paper as a furry edge for my photos plus some fussy cut tree stumps and the pennants across the bottom in various papers. I added random flowers and the punched butterfly. It gives this layout a woodland feel. Of course that's me with the bear.
This layout is using the letters of sunny to represent scrapbook items that I added
I've used this photo before, but it is a good one and the pink tongue goes with the background.
S=spots
U=upcycled ribbon (on left hand vertical as it came from a gift I received
N= newsprint
N=numbers
Y= yellow ribbon
My first layout this month is for Lasting Memories.
I drew extra circles in black and framed my 2 photos with red metallic cardstock.
I used the heart shaped alphas because the colours match the paper then added a small journal card next to the photos. I'm happy with this and like the contrast between modern and ornate.
