Throwback sketch May on The scraproom group.

I hadn't yet done a layout about the Queen's death so made this one today.

I'm pleased to have used an acetate sheet I have had for a few years as one of my layers. (black spotted)  I added a touch of gold with the corrugated card plus the alphas. The turquoise paper is one I stamped myself.

Alphabet challenge

At Alphabet challenge they want dragonflies.

I had a couple of large dragonfly die cuts and I'm happy to use them on this card.

I kept it simple because the dragonflies are quite big.

This is a get well card.

Cardz for guys

At Cardz for Guyz they wanted pedal  wheels. (National bicycle month)

Here's my card. I misted through a brick wall stencil then added a chipboard bicycle and a dymo sentiment. Hope you like it!

As you like it challenge

Over at As you like it  we are asked to make either male or female card.

I had quite a few narrow strips left from my kit so decided to weave them to make the background on this. The cork sentiments matched it well, so I added those too.

Here's what I had left, before I made this. I think I have killed that kit.

Challenge YOUrself

The challenge at ChallengeYourself is get messy".

I used a sunray mask with yellow mist as my main background. Next, I used several layers of paper behind my photo as mats.  I stamped the small red feather using ink and put it as a tab on the edge of the photo.

I also stamped using white paint, the big flower on bottom left next to the title.  The sequins were glued to the background.

That was enough mess for me !!!

When I went to upload my photo, I saw I had got top 3 for last month's layout. That was a nice surprise.

Sketches in Thyme

Here is the latest sketch at Sketches in Thyme.

I've used a paper which has a circle pattern on it but cut out the large circle by hand.

The smaller circles were cut from scraps.

I used the last of a scrap from earlier this month as my torn piece under the photos. I kept it simple without any extra embellishments.

CKC - May Challenge #1

As I'm co-ordinating the challenges this month I have chosen to do a heritage layout using a black and white photo.

I used a neutral background paper and a lace doiley , then shaped a patterned paper to overlay it, inked the edges. At the top I tucked a smaller piece of wedding paper. There is also a torn piece of Prima patterned paper behind the photo.

I used 3 small, long tags under the right-hand side with mauve brads.

The laces are daisies from my sister's wedding dress and another flower cut from a scrap. I used gold lettering to keep it regal.

This was my oldest cousin's wedding in 1966.

2 challenges-Scraproom and Soul Scrappers.

I'm combining 2 challenges on this next layout.

At The scraproom

and at Soul Scrappers

For BLOOM I used B=black, L= Leaves O=overseas friend O=outline M=marble patterned paper.

For Tic tac toe I went across the top row. I used Flourish with a bling leaves shape, cork circles and a bold background.

May Counterfeit kit Forgeries

I made 2 forgeries for my May Counterfeit Kit.

First, I had a leaf paper but it was too bright. So, I used white paint over the top to make it more faded.

The other was copying the paper scraps in this bundle (on the right)

I used a stamp to recreate the postmark on the papers.

These will be used this month as well.

I came up with a third idea using more scraps.

I cut out a bracket shaped Tag and traced out several on scraps of green cardstock scraps. Next I added small pieces of patterned paper then cut out to shape. Tear one edge and you have tags ready for journalling or decorating.

Layout 2-Colour palette.

This layout was actually started earlier, but I used papers from my new Counterfeit kit.

Soul scrappers had a colour palette challenge that worked

Here's my layout.

I used smaller offcuts on most of this including bookpaper. One of the criteria was to use leaves, hence the gold vine as it was the only leaves I had. The food theme is represented by the cake.

Challenge yourself

At Challenge yourself there's a then and now challenge

I decided to use papers in my new kit to scrap this.

The "Be bold, be comfy, be right" paper came wrapped around a parcel and is actually just shop paper. It suited the theme of this layout as these are life lessons you learn along the way.

I tore it to fit across the middle. Then I added 2 other papers at the bottom to layer the effect. The arrows (triangles) also represent the passage of one's life. Both those gave me the Title.

I made the green tag using more tearing of paper. The whole thing is then tied up with twine (like a parcel).

My 2 photos show me (aged about 4,) on the beach with my sister and now in the other photo.

I finshed up with 2 paperclips which are opposite colours to the photos to link them.

May Counterfeit Kit

Welcome to another month of kitting for Counterfeit kit club.

This time it is my turn.

I wanted something different to pinks and peaches.

Some of us have male photos to scrap and this works for that. I can also visualize it being used for Heritage layouts. There's neutrals if you want to go that way also.

I'm old enough to also think it has a retro vibe. That circle paper reminds me of 70's wallpaper!

I have chosen "Noteworthy" Limitless Kit – {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club (notjustforboyskitclub.com)

Here are the pictures

Now to my kit which contains some elements from the above kit

Presenting Passage of Time

My papers are darker but still within the green, yellow, neutral, black/white areas.

My embellishments can be seen in the kit photo above however here is a close up of some elements.
I added stencils, as well as vellum tags, washi and twine.

Scraps- (more about these on 4th.)

STOP PRESS!
I just found these 4 papers from Kaisercraft Barbershop range, so I'm adding those as well.

A big welcome to Sheryl Thomas who is our Guest designer this month.
Sheryl's kit will be revealed on Facebook.

Here's the full hop link list. Make sure you check out the amazing kits!
Thanks for looking and hop on now to Leslie to see what she has in store for you.
