Tuesday Morning sketches & tic tac toe.

Tuesday Morning Sketches has this card idea.
I'm busy making Mother's Day cards and this became the starting point for my card.
I used a heart shaped doily instead of the oval.
There is a tassel on my card as an embellishment.

My next card used the same background paper but is for Tic tac toe challenge

I've gone across the top row. Circle, flower and die cut.
With the die cut glasses I've given a nod to Mum, who used top say "Let me put my glasses on so I can read the card."

Challenge Yourself

This month there is a tic tac toe at Challenge Yourself.

In my case I've gone across the middle row and used buttons and washi tapes.

There is some shadowing on my scan, but no matter how hard I pushed on the lid of the scanner, it still showed through.
I've used 4 different washi tapes, plus 3 yellow buttons as required.
I also used a transparency bicycle from my November kit "St Tropez" and 2 wood veneer daisies featuring darker yellow/tan buttons to match those on the yellow washi tape.

Paper Issues Pinspire me challenge

At paper issues they have a Pinspire me challenge based on this.

I happened to have taken an astronaut photo in Melbourne so that is my starting point.
I was inspired by the triangles in many colours and the striped misting in ble, purple and pink. Together they made up this layout.

100 layout challenge

I've recently joined a facebook group named 100 layout challenge.
As I have recently had 2 holidays, one in Melbourne, I decided to scrapbook that.

Crafty Girls corner, 4 crafty chicks and Cardz4guyz.

Crafty Girls corner has make it green as their challenge.
Cardz4guyz wants something with a tail.

I've had this chipboard crocodile/lizard/dinosaur for a while now.
I inked him in green then mounted it on green papers.
As  final touch, I added teal green pearls on his spots
The card's sentiment says Get Well.
It could be for a boy or a man who is sick.

And at 4 crafty chicks they want brads.

I've used a large brown brad in the centre of my flower.
This is an affirmation card for a teen age girl.

Counterfeit Kit sketch challenge.

The challenge at Counterfeit kit was to use this sketch.
I've modified it slightly and sewn the button right in the centre of the photo. Brave eh?

One technique I adapted was the 2 border strips weren't long enough so I overlapped them and used 3 enamel dots to visually finish the line.
I've used mainly geometric patterned paper on this layout to go with the statues.

Sketch File

I'm the proud owner of a challenge blog named Archiscraps
We do monthly challenges based on Architecture.
This month it is chevrons and blue.

To promote my blog I made this mothers day card based on a sketch at The sketch File

I've used blue chevrons.

It also features a chipboard owl and stars on the top horizontal paper.
I'm also entering it on Tuesday Throwdown where the theme is seeing stars.

Cactus mini album page

I had fun with these 2 pages and I'm still using my Counterfeit Kit mini kit.

Apart from using scraps of papers I also cut some corrugated card into a wavy pattern as an embellishment. Below my journaling was some space so I drew a cactus.

Mini album page

Here is another double page for my mini album with Counterfeit kit this month.
I've used some asterisks from a set of alphas as my embellishment.

March Mini Kit

No automatic alt text available.

I have based my  mini kit on the papers from the March kit.
********************************************************************************

Here's my line up. There is not a whole 12x12 paper among it, only smaller pieces.
I added some embellishments to the mix
With this group I have made...........
Some pages for a mini travel journal

4 crafty chicks

4 crafty chicks has a sentiment challenge.

I often make inspirational "happy cards". This is one of those.
My sentiment says Today it's a beautiful day
I made it sunshine yellow with some gold flowers.

Lets get sketchy and Case this sketch

Let's get sketchy has this mood board.
As soon as I saw it I thought about flamingo paper that I have been hoarding.
It matches the bright pink and the flip side is all of those colours featured.

I found 2 photos from a trip we went on through a fern laden forest.I had the road view plus a close up.
They were matted on Jade green spotted paper. I double matted the bright pink flamingo paper on a pale pink then olive green. With 2 busy papers, I needed to delineate the border.
My journaling card says happiness(also my title.)
On it I have placed a small FWAB Jack vine.
I've finished my layout with a round pink brad.
I haven't used flowers as I feel the layout is busy enough. Sometimes "Less is best".

Then using the leftover papers I went to Case this sketch

I used the pink flamingo paper as my background.
The strip is from the reverse side.
I decided the black rosette went well with it, so I've opted for bright pink/black &white theme.
