In the pink and cupcake challenge

At In the Pink, they want something new

The card I've made is from scraps someone gave me, but the papers are "new"  to me.
The fine ribbon was a new reel I had.
The pink gingham patterned paper is from Heidi Swapp and was bought new earlier this month.

I've chosen not to add a sentiment but it will go into my "Love" box for Valentines Day, Engagements, weddings etc.
                                                           ***********************
While we are on Valentines Day I made a card for it using pearls as the feature.

It is for Cupcake Inspirations challenge.
Once again I fussy cut around one of those flowers.
The XOXOXO means "kiss, hug", so again I didn't use a sentiment

Counterfeit Kit challenge blog hop

Welcome to the Members blog hop.

Challenge #1 was to use a door on your layout.
I've constructed my own door from a fancy frame printed on one of my papers.
I used Scrapmatts Federation corners to finish off the frame and make it more doorlike.
To make the door way I have cut around the inside paper using a sharp knife then used a large brown brad for my handle.
I decided to make it a puzzle layout

and behind the door is a federation house with matching lacework.

Here's the order of the blog hop.

The male room

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/ has a washi tape challenge.
So, using the same range of papers as the previous challenges I made a bright card for a small boy using orange washi tape.

2 card challenges

The sketch at Mojo Monday prompted me to make this card but I'm also entering it on
Naughty or nice where they want us to celebrate something new or use something new.
In this case, it is a bright card for two boys or twins.
The papers were given to me at Scrapbooking group on Saturday, so they are new to me.

Cute card Thursday and Delft

http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com.au/ has a challenge to use cool colours.

Though this is not a card it is the only challenge I can find to suit this penultimate layout I've made using my Counterfeit kit.

Jot Magazine challenge

Jot Magazine has a challenge for January. Here's the mood board.

I have taken inspiration from the bed with the floral bedspread. Plus the anchor and the white bathroom. I used white card as my background.

I fussy cut around the flowers on the Heidi Swapp Mixed company paper in my kit.
I used royal blue hand stitching and a denim washed striped paper in my layering.
The tag saying Love life was also in my Counterfeit Kit.

The remainder including the fabric owl are extras.

Scrap Africa

I've been quiet for a couple of days as I went away to stay with a cousin who lives on the beach.
Took some time to recharge the batteries...........

But here now, and I've made this layout for Scrap Africa's sketch

My layout started with left over alphas.

After sticking them on cardstock I dribbled paint over them.
Using a brush, I spread the paint and added 2 random chipboard stickers to create some alignment.
When I saw Scrap Africa's sketch I realised their diagonal went the other way, but that doesn't matter.
Using offcuts from my Counterfeit Kit I layered according to their sketch.
My main piece was some vellum I had that co-ordinated with the background.
I misted(or rather dribbled) on the 2corners as in the sketch.
Some of my papers are torn rather than cut but that adds to the recycled look.

My photo is reasonably plain to balance all that background.
Meet Piff the Steiff mouse that I bought in Germany.
It was a gift for my daughter who loves rodents.

Mystical scrapbooking quote challenge

It is so hot, that I'm housebound today.
A balmy 38 degrees or just over 100. Phew!!

I've made this layout for http://mysticalscrapbooks.blogspot.com.au/ featuring my daughter and a quote.
Image result for qoute Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment

My favourite scrapbooking paper EVER is Chapter One by Kaisercraft.
I put a shaped sheet plus a chipboard shape of it in my Counterfeit Kit.
I used it on this layout plus some ribbons, a tag, a flair, a P/L card and a brad.

Use your stuff & Water cooler Wednesday

I've used red on my layout of the Japanese section of Bouchart Gardens in British Columbia.
The white vellum is the white.
I've stitched it in red and you may also notice a red maple leaf.

Use your stuff wants Red and White for Canada.

*******************************************************************************

Have you ever pushed the "NEXT BLOG" button when visiting a blog?
In this case it took me to Watercooler Wednesday challenge.

Now these colours just happened to not only match the greens in my Counterfeit kit, but also a banner I have had sitting on my desk for ages.
I had to restring the word birthday as the twine had broken.
My background paper has been distressed for added interest and 2 staples are also used to hold the folds.
I also added a pink flair button to fill up the space.
Hope you like it!

Butterfly challenge

There is a JADE and Jewels challenge at Butterfly card challenge.
Grab the Badge

I'm using my large die cut butterfly, strips of wood and misted jade paper as the basis of my card.
I've used pearls as my jewels and added 25 as my sentiment.
Perfect for a 25th birthday or anniversary card.

City crafter & Cute card Thursday

The challenge at City Crafter is to use blue.
This suits my Counterfeit Kit beautifully.
The challenge at Cute card Thursday is use buttons

I've used 2 patterned papers featuring tones of blue plus a striped ribbon and 3 large buttons.
My sentiment is a general "hello" button.
This card can be used for a variety of purposes.

Freshly made sketches #270

Another card for sale. This one is a get well card.
I used alphas left over so the only word I could make was grin.

CKC Challenge #2

The second challenge at Counterfeit kit challenges is to use Zentangles.

I was inspired by the mandalas in the kit "Ubud Dreams" to come up with this idea.

My layout features zentangles that look like coral and seaweed.

The photos ARE straight on the page. I measured them!!!!
They were taken at a weird angle from a glass bottom boat so it is an optical illusion.

I chose to not use a title as this goes into an album with similar photos.

Paper Issues & another freaking scrappy challenge

Image may contain: text

Another layout for paper issues, this time it is Take 5 Tuesday.
I'm using 2. grey papers from my kit
                7.more than 1 photo
                8. Patterned paper
               13. layers
14.tag or label (love gives a fairy tale)
There is also something silver (6) in the large brad on top left.
                                                          *********************
Also at http://another-freaking-scrappy-challenge.blogspot.com.au/ they want us to use grey.

There are 3 grey papers on here from the Basic Grey Little Black dress range.
I'm hoping it wasn't only grey. (Thank you Monique Fox and Mary Bennetts for inspiring me)

Erica and I were on our 2009 trip around Europe. This was in Venice. We couldn't believe we were actually there and sat gazing out the window at the gondolas and people catching them.
It was like a fairytale.

Paper issues Saturday Sketch

Here is the Sketchy Saturday January Sketch. at Paper Issues.
I've used it as the basis of this layout.
One of the papers featured doors and shutters. That took my mind back to Venice.
Unfortunately my title is shortened since I didn't have all the letters, but "blind Freddy" can see where it is.

Everything on here is from my Counterfeit Kit.

Mojo Monday #479

Here's a card using the sketch at Mojo Monday .
All items are from my Counterfeit kit.
I put the 9 on the hessian as it shows up better.

and another one just for fun
Here is Mojo Mondays sketch

Once in a while sculpt.

Believe it or not this is a Christmas layout.

On Christmas Day while we were driving I saw this big orange sculpture, right there in the road.
It is near Kambah in Canberra.

I started my layout with a cardboard grid from a set of Alphas I've now used up.
The paper is from BG Little Black Dress.
All other items except for the orange mat are from my January CK.

Scrapping 4 fun challenge & 4 crafty chicks.

After 2 days of being a "Culture Vulture" in Canberra, I'm back home and creating again.
One of my former Design Teams was Scrapping4fun challenges.
Their challenge is to use bright colours.

The flair button is one I made myself from an old calendar picture and clear resin spots.
There is no sentiment on this card. Some of my customers like that idea.
I'm also entering it on 4 crafty chicks where they want scrapbooking papers.

Country view challenge and The male room.

I couldn't get my head around scrapbooking today (Too hot !!!) so I made a card instead for http://countryviewchallenges.blogspot.com.au/ and The male room.
In both cases it is Anything goes.
This is for a little boy.

Naughty or nice challenge plus others

http://naughtyornicechallenge.blogspot.com.au/ has a "use something new" challenge as has  http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com.au/ .
I opened a fresh ribbon roll for the bow on this Winter themed card.

http://diesruschallenge.blogspot.com.au/  is anything goes. With the snowflakes and sentiment it qualifies.
http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.com.au/ is A for anything goes and something starting with B (bow and bird)

http://tuesdaythrowdown.blogspot.com.au/ wants winter critters Woodstock in the snow qualifies there.

http://unicornchallenge.blogspot.com.au/ use mainly blue.

http://pileitonchallenge.blogspot.com.au/ Celebrations.

I have used corrugated card, mist and new ribbon from my Counterfeit kit.

I've ticked 7 boxes in one here!

Freshly made sketches #269

This is the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.
I've gone very minimalistic.
The background is grey.
I used a ribbon plus a strip of patterned paper for the stripes.
A wood veneer 3 and bird are my sentiment.

That mark is on the scanner not the card. Will clean it immediately.

Cardz4guyz & Simon Says

One of my regular card sites is http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com.au/.
This week's challenge is up up and away.
And on Simon says stamp we are asked to start afresh and use something new.
The flair and Project Life cards were opened for this card.

In my Counterfeit kit I have some Project Life cards.
I've used one on this subdued card and added a flair saying Adventure Awaits.
The hot air balloon is a Kaisercraft stamp.

Scrap the girls

The mood board at Scrap the girls is a challenge.

My daughter went to New York for the first time, last November (2015).
This photo is of her standing on Brooklyn Bridge at Sunset.
It represented her first big holiday overseas without the family.
Her "Finding herself" holiday. (Harking back to the "once I was lost")

I've used the 3 colours on the palette, plus some gold from "Heidi Swapp".
My journaling in the top left corner has lots of things dangling from it, including a large copper feather.
This idea was inspired by the photo of the lights from the ceiling.
I was tempted to add a mandala but I feel "Less is best" in this case.

Sketch and scrap

Here's the sketch at Sketch'n'scrap.
On Christmas Day my daughter drove us to the restaurant in Canberra, where we had dinner.
Of course I took my camera.
We pulled up at the traffic lights behind this ute containing a blue heeler dog (wearing a bandana).
This is an iconic Australian scene.
In the Australian bush you see a dog on the back of a ute all the time. Hence my title.
My letters are so big that the b wouldn't fit any close .I know outback is one word.
I tore vellum as my background paper and zigzagged around the edges on my sewing machine.

Mojo Monday

I'm so pleased the card challenges are starting up again. It was hard to find any to do!

This card is for Mojo Monday.
and here's the sketch...

Stuck?! sketches

This is the sketch at Stuck? for January 1st.
I decided to start with mixed media so misted and dribbled a turquoise-green on the paper.
Next I used gesso through a small flower mask.
I inked the edges of my paper doiley and made a large tag using a kaisercraft stamp and more misting.
My title was cut from a tag I had.

I used pattern papers and ribbon for my strips.
When it came time for the photo I turned the whole thing 90 degrees.
(The dribbles go across but that's ok).
.
It is hard to see, but there is a clear plastic flower top left of the photo.

The people heads were a strip from Kaiser wedding paper which I fussy cut and glued separately.
Here's the final layout.

I'm also entering this on Challenge Yourself as the theme is Happy Holidays.
This get together every year marks Christmas for this group of friends.
We exchange gifts and drink to the year that we have had.
