The challenge at Shopping our stash this week is Heavy Metal.
This meant we are needed to use something metallic on our card.
I've gone all out, using gold papers, plus gold brads too.
The card is for a 50th wedding anniversary.

Use your stuff
Above the town of Florence there is a lookout where you can get a birds eye view of the Duomo. This layout is for a challenge on Use your stuff where the theme is travel.
When you look at the Duomo you do wonder how they built it so huge,so long ago.
I've been wanting to do a patchwork quilt for sometime,so here was my chance.
Colour blocking reminds me, there is still time to enter Archiscraps where the theme is Colour blocking and a holiday photo.
This layout would be perfect.

Counterfeit Kit blog hop
Here were the 3 challenges at Counterfeit Kits this month:
1.Challenge #1 Ugly Sweater Inspiration - do you love them or hate them? Let those big shapes and bright colours take centre stage on your projects!
Challenge #2 Angled Backgrounds - create an angled background for your project
Challenge #3 10 Minute Craft Dash - time yourself ... you have TEN MINUTES to make a card!
This is the uneven challenge.
I started with this Bella zigzag kraft from my February kit.
It was very full-on and whatever I put with it looked awful.
Spurred on by this challenge, I cut strips of papers (from my scrap basket), on the diagonal.
It still looks too busy but I wanted some of the black zig zag to show.
Solution, a very plain mat and photo.
I found a yellow self coloured chevron paper as my mat.
The photo of a fancy drink I had recently went so well with it all.
Put them all together, add some co-ordinating embellishments, and there you have it!

Shopping our stash.
The requirement this week at Shopping our stash is to hand make an embellishment.
In my case it is a tag.
First I cut out the tag shape then glued a piece of torn pp across it.
I found some left over chipboard letters from yeaaaaaaaaaaaaars ago.(about 12 I think)
I hand painted it then used embossing powder to give it a high gloss.
A small brad and matching button adhered to the card and voila!
The remainder of the card is plain because I haven't decided yet if it will be a thank you or birthday card.
And if you are wondering why I'm making so many cards today.........I'm trying to avoid that pile behind me....
These are all layouts that I need to put into albums.
Oh well, better stop procrastinating and get on with it!

The squirrel and the fox -spooling
The challenge at The squirrel and the fox is spooling.
This means that we can use anything that comes on a spool.
I've chosen embroidery thread as my spool item.
The stitching is in yellow down the left hand side of the card.
To push myself further I have made a male card.
This could be for a birthday or Fathers day.

Color Me Scrappy
here is the palette
I've chosen to scrap a photo of my daughter just as she was finishing Year 12 at High School.(The final year).
I started with gesso and added pearls while it was still wet.
Next I fussy cut around some flowers to form a visual edge around my photo.
Under the photo is a circle, but the photo being quite large covers most of it.
For my wood, I've used 2 wood veneer cameras and enamel dots as centres.
My scanner has made this quite pale.
The flowers are a much brighter pink.

CAS ology Week #83 JUMP and HIMCR #138
The theme at Casology this week is jump.
After searching I found a cricket/grasshopper with boggly eyes and have decided to make a Get Well card.
The background paper is an offcut from an earlier card, but it fitted this theme.
If you shut your eyes and stand far enough back it looks like grass.
The edge trim is from the same range and adds some colour.
I thought my sentiment fitted this card well.

Nikki at S J Crafts.
This is the sketch at S J Crafts which is an English site and one of the DT is Jennifer Grace
As Jennifer designed this sketch, I felt compelled to use sequins.
I chose a bright pink as my theme to match Nikki's skirt and hair.
This lady is no shrinking violet!
Here is my layout.

Scrapping For Fun
Time for another card. What a surprise!
This one is based on this sketch
This one is based on this sketch
and because I had this windmill plus some other farm related stuff, I made a card that says "From miles away"
The theme was Valentines/Love.
I'm divorced with no partner.
My daughter lives 3 hours away, so let's say I'll send this card to her because I love her.
I could send it my ex but his new woman might not approve!
Mojo Monday #333
The sketch at Mojo Monday is this.
I've gone all olde -worlde and romantic with this one.
I'm also entering it on Use Your Stuff where the criteria is hearts.

Counterfeit Kit 10 minute card challenge & Crafty Hazelnut.
Challenge #3 at Counterfeit Kit challenges is to make a card in 10 minutes.
This is what I started with
A whole bunch of scraps plus a yellow card.
Time 8.51 am.
I used the yellow/white grid as my background and had to do a "patchwork" as the pieces weren't big enough to cover the while card.
Next the strip with numbers on down the vertical.
Over that I've placed a gold & white chevron rectangle, then the striped journaling card.
A flower sticker in white on the corner, topped off with a Teresa Collins enamel dot in cream.
My sentiment was made from the remaining words on the MME stickers
Perfectly imperfect just the way you are.
Here is the card. Time finished 9.01 am.....10 minutes exactly!

A very little card for Punky scraps
The theme at Punky scraps is NEON.
Here is the picture.
Though this won't win any prizes I've made a gift card measuring 9cmx 10.5cm
On the card are 2 strips of bright pink washi tape, 2 strips of patterned paper,2 Heidi Swapp clear hearts, some mini alphas, a punched border and an enamel dot.
I chose "Groovy" as my sentiment because I lived through the 1970s. LOL

Feeling sketchy
Here is sketch #80
I decided to make a get well card.
The embossed background paper has a suede texture.
I've recycled a Kaisercraft tag and an edge strip from their papers.
To that I added some enamel dots, a co-ordinating brad and my sentiment.

Jingle Belles
Over at Jingle Belles they have asked for a card featuring mainly red.
I searched my Christmas papers and found no red/white ones, so went with this one which is mainly red.
I matted a red/white polkadot scrap, then added 2 metal tag surrounds.
In these I placed my sentiment.
I've placed a red /white ribbon down the right hand side.(It is straight, the scanner makes it look wobbly).
As a final touch I used 2 holly brads, also red.

Shopping our stash
The challenge at Shopping our stash is something shiny on a card.
I'm nearing the end of my counterfeit kit now but had some heart shapes paper left over.
Valentines day is passed so I made an engagement card.
The Echo Park stickers has "THE NEWS" as one of its stickers.
I also had shiny foil plus red shiny thickers.
All of these made up my card.
Here it is..........

Shopscrapmuch sketch challenge.
It is pouring rain here this morning in Sydney.
The first good rain we have had since Christmas Day....so it is scrap weather!
This layout is for http://shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/ and the sketch looks like this
Using 2 more papers from my Counterfeit Kit plus some scraps of 2 others, I made the background matting.
The red ribbon in the photos plus the half doiley meant red trimmings.
I've used enamel dots(love those),a circular journaling block, a playing card, a MME "You are so loved" layered sticker, another flower sticker from Fancy Pants,3 dotty buttons and a cut out heart. These are all from my Counterfeit Kit also.
I couldn't resist the Ruby Rock-it groucho glasses and the banner featuring circus animals along the bottom.
When you own a cat, life is a circus!

Cas ual Friday card challenge.
CFC127: Create a Clean And Simple project with some sort of element that extends past the edge.
is the current challenge.
I've used a Kaisercraft paper with a tag from Elle's studio.
On that is a rub-on sentiment that says "A moment lasts all of a second. But the memory lives on forever."
Over the top is a transparency square and a MME The Sweetest thing layered sticker.
The transparency square hangs over the edge of the card.

4 Crafty chicks
Debi Clark is on my DT for Archiscraps.
This month she is the guest DT member at 4 Crafty Chicks.
The current challenge at 4 Craft chicks is to use banners or flags.
I certainly put one of those on this layout and I've used doileys plus die cut tags.

This was my sisters 20th Birthday in 1972.
I've used many chevron items here.
The Amy Tan papers (2),plus a chevron red and white bag which holds the journaling block.
I've also added a tiffany lamp (Scrapmatts) tag which I made a few months ago.
I've topped it all off with some white lace stickers, flair buttons from Shopevalicious.com and 3 red star brads.
There are many items from my February Counterfeit Kit here.
Try it on Tuesday
If the paper on these 2 cards look familiar, look at the previous card.
This card (and its little friend) are on a travel theme for Try it on Tuesday.
I've used 2 echo park stickers and word tags from my Counterfeit Kit.

Unscripted sketches #243
I love this sketch!
I've used Prima background paper, lightly misted with Sugar Maple glimmer mist.
The wood/chevron paper was a scrap(I used both sides) and the other 2 strips are from around the edges of the Prima paper.
The brads are Kaisercraft.

Spots and stripes at Ruby's Rainbow.
Over at Ruby's rainbow the challenge is to use both spots and stripes.
I've used a MME striped background paper. Next, I found red & white spotted paper and some left over alphas that spell good luck!.
These I matted on to another spotted paper.
My final touch is a striped butterfly layered sticker also from MME.

Let's get sketchy
For some reason I immediately thought carnival.
I had these Ruby Rock-it Carnival king items, so used them on my layout, along with the star flair button from Fancy Pants.
These 2 girls have been friends since kindergarten.

Color Throwdown #278
For a change I made 2 bookmarks.
In my business selling books, I keep a ledger of incomings and outgoings.
I've decided these 2 bookmarks would be good to mark the place where I put money in (deposits) and on another page the money I owe. On that bookmark I've used stickers saying insufficient funds and this way.
I've used the colours on the palette although there is a minimum of red.
