tag time

It's not like I haven't seen cute gift tags before, but the penny had never dropped to use my scraps to make these little goodies en mass. Blog surfing one night I came across these gorgeous tags made by Prima’s Cari Fennell – you can see her versions here,http://meandmymaryjanes.blogspot.com.au/ and hey presto I was on my way as a tag-maker. They are so easy to make, you can have a complete tag in under ten minutes and using your off-cuts you have no outlay.
I'm off to check out my scrap bags ...how about you?

Angle shot

This wonderful photo, taken purposely at an angle deserved some special treatment.I've used scrapmatts new floral flourishes which have been coloured with liquid pearls.I've handwritten my title and journalling. This layout is another 8x8 to go into my Cook Islands album. The beach was so restful to stare at and I will definitely remember this holiday.

White with one

With Easter then Anzac Day yesterday I guess the religious overtones have come forward. For White with One I've chosen 3 photos from Rhodes Greece. We climbed to the top of the highest hill where there is remains of an ancient Greek temple plus a Byzantine church featuring murals. These 2 murals are of Christ's crucifixion so I've put one on a tag pocket and cut out the other. The 3rd photo is of my friend Thena and my daughter Erica ascending the stairs to a giant cross.I've used tags and tabs where I could.I've also added 2 Scrapmatts flourishes.

Artastic food

Artastic this time was based on a sketch of a cafe in Paris featuring pinks, blues and golds plus curved back chairs.I was inspired to do this layout,Island Feast 2012,which is 8x8 size. The large flower at top left reflects the above colours and shape of the chairs.I've used misted backing paper to resemble the coloured pencil texture in the sketch and food utensils to highlight the theme of food.Hope you like it! We watched the fishermen catch the fish on the reef then we ate it for lunch the same day.

Cook Island gardens at Stuck?!

This being an 8x8 layout a tighter interpretation of the sketch is required.I've trimmed the main photo then used coconut trees inside a strip film chipboard as my side picture. The flowers and accompanying leaf sprays are on a smaller scale to fit into the remaining space ,but I've captured the essence of the sketch.

Annabelle swims at scrap the girls

The layout was turned on its side from the original sketch.I've used Graphic 45 papers-Munchkins from the magic of Oz collection and Love me tender from the Baby to Bride collection. The doiley is from the chip chop shop, the centre of the flower is paper whimsies by Sassafrass lass and the painted hearts and raw chipboard "play" are from Scrapmatts.

A lucky dip win!

Look what I won. Can't wait to use them when they arrive.A big thank you to Samantha.

Thorpedo #2 at Scrap the boys

Scrap the boys required something recycled on our layout. The blue fabric on this is from a sundress I've cut up and the tresured moments braid is taken from another layout that I pulled apart recently.I've used 2 photos of Christopher's swimming, one has a circle of twine around him.The journalling block is from Scrapmatts and the bird in the right hand corner is from the chip chop shop.

snorkelling at Kraft it up

Another 8x8 layout here featuring 3 pieces of Kraft as required. While in Raratonga we went snorkelling in crystal clear ocean, about 8 metres deep.Having never tried before I found the mask hard to manage as breathing relies totally on the snorkel. It wasn't a pleasant experience despite there being sizeable fish surrounding us.I've used Scrapmatts anchor and word trouble on this layout plus a 7 gypsies eyechart stamp and some bubblewrap paint printing.

A stuck sketch or Annas craft cupboard

These layouts featuring Cook Islands are all 8x8. I was given an album to put my photos from there in."Cook Island Fishin is for Stuck?! sketches (April 1st) and features all the ingredients required.
The second is also 8x8 and is for Annas craft cupboard. It features a glorious sunrise we watched from the plane as we flew in. The misted flowers are from Scrapmatts

FS2S and a fairytale

When I saw the topic for this month's FR2S I knew what I would do. EVER AFTER was one of my daughter's favourite movies. She also studied it at high school. I found the video then used the cover to start off my layout. The wedding photo shows us cutting the cake and wishing for our future happiness, so it was appropriate.Unfortunately,it didn't end happily.I've used a Kaisercraft arrow bling to connect in the words and string to emphasise the flow of the words. The chipboard himges and "We" are Scrapmatts.

123 mint,beads and believe

I started with the bella ancestry cardstock fearturing a circular edge.Around the circles I applied liquid pearls in peacock colour. Then I used shimmery mint coloured pp with 2 other pps. One contains the quote from Eleanor Roosevelt and the other mats the photo. The pennant at the top contains 2 sets of beads taken from old earrings.I finished with the ticket style journalling. This photo of Annabelle is so clear...I love it!

Waiting for a baby at "let's get shabby"

In this photo there were branches on the camelia plant which I echoed using BG chipboard. The photo features Mum and my sister, who was pregnant at the time with her son.I kept the softness by using the doiley, lace, labels, string as well as buttons. The branch on the journalling tag also echoes branches.Patterned paper features paisleys which were on her dress as well. Hope you like it.
