Double layout and little buckets

Here's a layout I did for Enchanted scrapbooking. It is a scraplift of one by Tiffany Sawyer. My scanning and stitching program leaves something to be desired but I almost got the 2 sides to meet.I love the primary colours in this one.Nice and bright.
Searching through the reject shop I found some little metal buckets on sale for $1. They're just the perfect size for storing scrapbooking bits and pieces. One has already had shorter lengths of ribbon put in that I can use as trims on layouts.

Pom pom braid

I've recently bought 3 colours of pompom braid and today used it on a layout.I tore strips of leftover patterned paper in shades of browns and orange to match the 2 photos then stamped randomly on them.I placed the 2 photos in line then trimmed them with pompom braid and ribbon. This was my nephew's 9th birthday...he is now 36!

Here's my photos of the grotto on the Isle of Capri. The colour was amazing! The layout is for Stuck?!Sketches 2nd May sketch.I used Sandy Lion papers-Spring words and tile as well as Kraft which I lightly misted in green.I used a luminous organza ribbon under the photos as well as the two at the bottom of the layout. The flowers are by Hero hues and Kaisercraft and the buttons and brads came from Spotlight. As I had used some of the letters from the chipboard title I made the G and the two t's by cutting up other letters.

My favourite books.

Here's a layout I did on my favourite books. I used gauze as my textural background, adhering it with modpodge. The monogram features a bottlecap and a textured bubble plus tiny squares featuring coloured dots. This I matched to the SEI paper-psychadelic circles.I've added Jolie's boutique books as extra embellishment. My favourite books are Agatha Christie(I have her whole collection) plus Gone With The Wind,Jackie French,Lilian Jackson Braun,Mary Stewart(Love King Arthur stories),A Town like Alice and I've discovered a new author I enjoy,Elizabeth Elgin.

What is old is new again sketch challenge

Here's my layout for the sketch challenge on what is old is new again.I was able to get very "Up close" to the giraffe without it being too inquisitive, hence the great photo.
Everyone here in Sydney is agog with Jessica Watson's return. I thought about going in to see her return but with 100,000 people I don't think so.Probably see more on TV anyway.
Erica moves into her house today,so mother can stop stressing now. Those of you with daughters will understand my anxt.

Let's get shabby

I've just discovered this new site and there's some amazing work on there. Our challenge was to use colour and some fabric.I made curtains from some scraps of 1950's nylon then added a border punched gingham paper as the pelmet.I added a vine made by Chrissy from Enchanted scrapbooking featuring pink and yellow roses and added some gathered purple ribbon.I've always wanted to do a curtain page and this photo of Erica doing Physical culture fitted the bill.

2 more... a prolific day!

The Mt Vesuvius layout was done for Enchanted Scrapbooking's limited challenge.I like the theme of red white and blue so used that as the photo was very blue too.
The mask layout was for Stuck?! sketches where I decided to go vintage so used 2 old laces plus folded blue ribbon and pearls.I didn't put a title on it as it is self explanitory.

It is a year today since we arrived in Paris on the Eurostar.....oh the memories.Later that day we stood outside the louvre and marvelled at the size of the buildings.I wish we could go back but unfortunately we can't so i'll need to be content with my happy memories.

Self explanitory really.

2 Venetian layouts

The Venetian glass layout is for Inspired Blueprints and the doge's palace is for out of the hat.I made both these layouts last night in a fit of inspiration.I'm pleased with the triangles on the doge's palace layout as they were one of the requirements and the paper seemed to suit it.

Floral fancy

This gorgeous colourful photo was taken at last year's retreat in Hobart Botanical gardens. The crafty sketches design this month suits the photo so here's what I produced. The Cooktown orchid cross stitch matches in so well, don't you think?

Photos from the zoo

Yesterday I took myself to Taronga Zoo, mainly to see the 2 baby elephants.I got some great photos but was also quite disappointed as many of the animals have been removed for renovations. At $43 to enter,it was an expensive experience to find many animals missing.
