Counterfeit KIt challenge #2

 This is a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch

I used one of my forgery papers for this challenge. It has paint dribbled down from the top.

I matted my 3 photos on an olive green card because I wanted the mats to be neutral.

The 3 photos show details of AZTEC culture that we saw in Chiapas Mexico.

We watched a smoking ceremony on a young girl about 13 who had reached womanhood. The Aztecs then would marry her off.

There was lots of smoke and loud calls from the man in the headpiece. I assumed he was the chief.

After this we went outside and the guide pointed out an AZTEC sculpture over the door of the building.
 I used the title "For real" because it looked very realistic to me.

Freshly made sketches and Try it on Tuesday

 

I'm making cards for the next couple of days. This one is for Freshly made sketches.

I thought this is a good motivational one for somebody doing exams or just doubting themselves. I added some tiny Autumn lane yellow buds.

Next card is for Try it on Tuesday.

I used scraps from my Counterfeit kit to make this "feminine" card as per the website. With my challenge site, Archiscraps, I often send out random prizes. This card can accompany one of those.

Scrap the boys.

 This is the last of my forgeries papers. I've done this layout for "Scrap the boys" where we had to use a quote. 

I copied this next part from my Facebook description.

I used paint and zig pen to create my own background. Then I found a card that said "Find beauty in the ordinary and you'll find joy in unexpected places". The men on our cruise all "came out of the woodwork" to watch the transit through the canal. Many of them stood at the railings and quoted dimensions and depths like seasoned engineers (maybe they were!). The pens might allude to the structural engineers who first drew up the plans for the canal.

Make my Monday

 Make My Monday Challenge Blog want us to use twine or ribbon for their theme "All tied up".

I decided to make a male card for someone turning 50. I used both pretend keys and real ones.

I threaded the twine through them to make a banner.

Challenge YOUrself

 The theme at Challenge YOUrself is friends

I've done this challenge most years, so this year I thought about work friends. I spent 7 years teaching at a particularly tough school. This was over 20 years ago. The 3 people in the photo were very helpful and friendly. I'm wearing a white blouse in this photo. 

The paper had the plants on it, but I fussy cut the dragonflies and added them as part of the background. The 3 green and black tabs added contrast and matched Betty's top. 

Scrapbooking at The scraproom.

 

This is the throwback sketch at the Scraproom. I used photos of frigate birds we saw on the Panama cruise.

I used the branches paper as my background plus a white corrugated card for my matting.

My journal space was cut from a larger rectangular card. I used washi tape for my strips plus a marching heart. Where there are branches on the sketch I used seaweed from a Jolees creations set of fish.

sunset layout

 This layout is another one of my forgeries. I kept it reasonably simple to make the photo stand out. It was the last sunset on my cruise and how special it was!

Lasting Memories

 This layout is for Lasting Memories where they want us to use the letters in the word, charm.

My list is C=circles, H=hearts A=anchor R=ricrac M=made background.

I used another forged paper from my Counterfeit Kit. One of my mats is another forged paper offcut. The anchor picture is from St Tropez by Prima.

The photos are from our arrival in Costa Rica. I was very excited to be there.

Sketch n scrap

 

This is the sketch for sketch n scrap.

I adapted it to fit my landscape photos. I used 2 of my forged papers. The background had light stamping in 2 of the corners. The other had fine coloured pencil lines.In between is a pink paper with swirls.

Where strips are required I used washi tapes including the bright pink and aqua across the bottom (I seldom use that one) I mixed my alphas in the title and finished off 2 sheets of words. The flairs are from Bee arty and the pink asterisks are from a set of alphas.

Soul scrappers This and That.

 My next layout is also for Soul Scrappers . This and that challenge is like a recipe challenge.

I chose the yellow side.

Everything on here is from my kit. I'm very pleased to use that typewriter postcard.

Yje arrows,photo corners and a;phas are all chipboard.

Soul Scrappers BOLD challenge

 I used one of my forgeries for a BOLD layout with BOLD title. The paper suited this challenge.

The best part was I got to use up some big alphas I had for about 15 years.

The pyramid shape is obvious in Chiapas everywhere!

March Counterfeit kit

 The March kit is Cocoa Daisy Feb 2026 kit called Inklings

The emphasis in this kit is artists tools and paint.

I had a look through my stash and couldn't find much at all so I did some major counterfeitting.

Here's my March papers.

7 of them are Counterfeited.

I also didn't have many embellishments but gathered together a collection of things that will work in with my papers.

I have plain gold thickers as my alphas and will add other embellishments as required.

Seize the birthday

 At Seize the birthday they want anything with wings.

I've made a card for a new baby girl (Birth day).

I added 2 fussy cut butterflies around the sentiment /poem

I'm also entering this at Word power challenge where words are the focus.

Try a sketch on Tuesday

 This is the sketch for Try a sketch on Tuesday

I've made a card to say Thank you to a friend who helped me out when my sister died recently.

Brenda has a border collie, so I chose that for my picture.

Then at Li'l Red wagon they want us to use leftovers.

I used the other half of the strips making a similar card. This time it features 2 washi tape envelopes and my sentiment says sending you Happy Mail.

Shopping our stash

 At Shopping our stash this week they want gold on a card.

I used corrugated gold cardboard plus a sleigh which I misted with gold..

I trimmed it with gold braid that Mum owned. It slipped in the scanner but is straight now.

Using up my kit

 I'm using up the scraps from my kit now. I had some of the fisherman paper left over so I'm making 2 cards.

The crazy floral layout.

 

I've had this carta bella Bloom paper in my kit and kept avoiding it. Then I saw the new sketch at Sketches in Thyme.

I decided to use these 3 photos of the mexican dress and go for a totally floral look.

I used 6 journal cords on here, including the circle , they became my banners. My title and hearts are from American crafts Thickers let's Dance.

This layout is based on a Sketches in Thyme sketch.

I used poetic license on here and put large tickets instead of tags. I also used a large journal card as my photo mat. One of the papers features fishing but I'm not concerned. Probably the ancient Mayans went fishing too. I used thin washi tape and staples to echo the sketch detail top right.

Mexican male layout

 

Today I made this layout using my "secret men's business " kit.

The Mexican man in my photos was wearing a hat and moustache, so I was able to echo that in the picture of the English gentleman. The striped offcut reminded me of Mexico and I found the word handsome which works well as a title.

I also used washi tape in black and white chevron and stitched a herringbone pattern across the middle to match the decoration on his hat.

I used the thickers title and hearts from my kit.Also the little shapes from lilybee designs were in my kit.

The dark green background paper and blue are old pieces I've had for a long time. I'm pleased to use them.

Farmquest Challenge blog and Time out challenges

 

I cut up an old children's annual and this was one of the pictures. It features 2 children collecting wood in a toboggan. As the theme at Farmquest is snow sports I thought this might qualify. 

Into the Christmas card box it goes.

We are asked to pick 2. I chose pink and sparkles

This is also entered at Ellibelle's garden where they want anything from a garden. I have the bee, birdhouse and flowers.

Counterfeit kit Challenge #1

 Our forst challenge is 10 things I love about.....................

It immediately reminds me of my daughter watching the movie "things I hate about you.". We must have watched it 50 times.

For this challenge I chose one of the countries we visited on my cruise. Costa Rica, it was magical.

I used a sticker I bought there as my starting point. The 3 circular journal cards came in handy on this.

My title went on next and I used mixed alphas. I chose my 3 photos and trimmed them to fit. I then added some puffy sticker thickers here and there. My final flourish was a branding strip along the bottom of the page.

The scraproom build a page challenge.

 

I started with brown and white spotted card for my background. I then triple matted my photo. I found a piece of music paper which already had red drips on it so used it as a layer under my photo mat.

Next, I made the banner using die cuts from my kit plus embroidery cotton.I used white brads to fasten the pieces on. I found 4 green buttons so added those next to my happy title. I also added 2 other word stickers "sweetest day" and "hello love".

This parrot and gorilla greeted us as we disembarked the ship in Costa Rica.

The scraproom throwback sketch

 This is the Throwback sketch at The scraproom.

I used it to create this layout.

I had the half page wood print so used that across the bottom plus the rainbow stripes offcut.

The other beige coloured paper was a 6X6 paper I put in my kit. I bought 2 Costa Rica stickers while I was there so used one on here instead of a second photo. There are also 2 puffy stocker bows as embellishments.

The sloths were gorgeous and fun to watch
