Farmquest

We are asked to use a woodland animal starting with R.at Farmquest.

I've gone for the obvious Reindeer.

My background was made by mixing paint and gesso together then after applying it I dragged a plastic fork through it. This gave the texture. Next, I drew the reindeers face. I attached chipboard flourishes as antlers. The nose is a small chipboard circle painted.

My sentiment says "Deer me."

I've also added yellow enamel dots.

CKC Challenge #3.

This challenge was a sketch. Here it is.

I have scrapped another photo of the Tamarins at Mogo Zoo.

I used a patterned paper from my kit plus yellow cardstock. The green circles are chipboard I painted green. Behind the photo I used a scrap of dotted paper then purple vellum. The vellum matches the purple mist I drizzled on my page. I used a vellum frame that says You and Me.

The small yellow square is an offcut and I put the word "cherish" over the frame. My title says sweet, because they were such cute animals.

Li'l red wagon

For my next card I have used neutrals. Li'l red wagon  has asked we make a neutral coloured item.

Hope you like it!

Freshly made sketches

Freshly made sketches  has given us this sketch this week.

I've made mine a Christmas card.

Firstly, I fussy cut around a previous Christmas card to get the Santa bauble.

I put my green cardstock through the cuttlebug using swiss dots.

I measured and cut my rectangles, then positioned the bauble in the corner. I used a brad to adhere it to my card.

My sentiment is right at the top and says "You make my heart smile".

Sketches in Thyme.

Sketches in Thyme had this sketch

I've had a photo of a building in Venice sitting on my desk for ages, so I decided to use this sketch.

I've used 3 flowers from scrappers garden plus 3 Kaisercraft brads and a black tassel. The strips behing the photo are all scraps and one was suede paper. The actual base paper suited the photo I thought.

I'm happy with how this one turned out.

Tassels on cards (A perfect time to craft)

This morning, I made 3 cards to use some black tassels I have here.

The chipboard tags have an arty look and are quite busy, so I left the background fairly plain.

Being number cards, I'm sure they will sell well.

I'm entering these at A perfect time to craft, where anything goes.

Farmquest challenge blog and Ellibelle's challenge

At farmquest they want near the garden shed or potting bench.

The nearest I can get to that is a watering can and flowers. I hope that is acceptable.

I glued a button on to the card.

I'm also entering this at Ellibelle's challenge where they want "Something from the garden"

Lasting memories wet medium

At Lasting memories they want a wet medium

I've gone for a simple one, white paint.

I used the flair button as part of my title, so it says Loving the weekend.

After layering my papers behind the photo it needed something extra so I used the white paint as a base. It also meant the wood veneer car and stop sign stood out more.

Hearts Quest challenge.

I've made this layout for Hearts Quest challenge.

I've chosen the Layered hearts. I'm not sure if Becca meant heart over heart or heart with other layering but I went for both on here.)

This was a garden at our resort in Vanuatu. Each day we walked past it on our way to the food area. It made us happy. I layered 4 small black doileys with circles, then heart and finally a smaller heart brad as the flower centre.
It still makes me smile when I look at that photo. A happy memory.

I've also entered it "if you give a crafter a cookie"

Li'l red wagon

At Li'l red wagon they want sparkle and shine.

I had white with silver paper and a matching flower with glittery edges and a large rhinestone centre. I used sparkly silver washi tape down the edge. I didn't use a sentiment as this could be for Christmas, wedding, anniversary etc.

AS you like it.

I'm making cards to use up the scraps from my counterfeit kit.

Here is the first.

I chose dragonflies because they seem to have a special "magical" quality. My 2 favourite colours are yellow and green so this suits that too.

I'm entering it at As you like it challenge as well as Seize the birthday

Sketch 'n' scrap

Here's the latest sketch at Sketch 'n' scrap

Using my counterfeit kit I chose a grey chevron paper from Jillybean soup.Chit chat chowder grey salt.

The feathers on a kookaburra's tail are grey and white so it refers back to that.

I had a strip of butterfly paper left so used that across the top third. My chosen title is "Ha Ha Ha" because Kookaburras laugh not tweet!

The 2 stickers are from a set I have made by Uniquely creative. The little brown flowers were in my kit. I used liquid pearls in green to make the centres. The small journal tag was also in my kit.

To add to this layout, I made a second one, using the las of my Counterfeit kit.

They aren't exactly a 2 pager but related by theme. I used the same grey zig zag paper, the butterfly paper and small brown flowers.

Lasting memories 5 rings

This layout features 5 circles.

Firstly, there's the gold doiley. There are 3 corrugated gold smaller circles with Christmas trees on top. There is actually a second gold doiley, but it is mainly obscured, so I will draw attention to the gold coin motif on the background paper. This makes 5 in total.

This will be entered at Lasting memories.

Shopping our stash and Triple B challenge

I'm making a couple of cards before lunch this morning. My first is for Shopping our Stash

I've used all 3 colours on here.

My next card is for triple B challenge

WE are asked to use Birds, butterflies and blooms. I've used blooms.

CKC Challenge #1

The challenge #1 at Counterfeit kits is to use woodgrain and flowers.

I had this photo of hot air balloons in Canberra.

I matted it twice then added the half of a gold doiley. Along the bottom of that I used pompoms in orange.

I glued my 2 clusters of different flowers at the corners.

For some reason the song Moon River came to mind, so I used the lyrics on my journal tag. My title is just drift.

Blast off at Soul Scrappers.

I'm working on the blast off challenge today. I decided to use a photo from Cowra gardens.

Everything on this is from my kit. I inked around the edges using "old Paper" ink.

My time to craft Christmas

They want a Christmas card with buttons at My time to craft Christmas

I used a Kaisecraft "Sweet Magnolia" background frame. Then added washi tape and 2 angel stickers.

The sleigh button was a shank, so I cut that back off and glued it with Magic Mount.

I added more red buttons spilling down the card. I love the quote about friendship.

Freaky Fast Friday

At the scraproom group they had another FFF challenge.

Here is my layout for that challenge. I used mainly items from my kit and included ribbon and hearts from Uniquely creative as my main embellishments. The round sticker at the top is also from there. The pale green dots are painted chipboard.

2 sisters on the blog

This morning I have made 3 cards.

My first is for 2 sisters on the blog and features typewriters.

My other 2 cards were made with some paper I had here that work well with black tassels I have.

Using up paper I don't like.

Here's another layout I've done purely to use up paper.

The orange chevron glitter paper has been in my kit forever!

I had 2 Christmas photos left so scrapped those and used some braids a friend gave me. There is also a gold doily, 2 corner shapes, 5 wood veneer baubles,a blue heart and a pink star.

A real mixture of stuff but I think it works ok.

Orange isn't my favourite colour but it matched our dresses.

Lasting Memories -2 or more clusters

We have been asked to create 2 or more clusters using at least 3 embellishments. This is for Lasting Memories.

I made this layout featuring photos of St Pauls Cathedral in London. At the base of the 2 photos, I created 2 clusters. The left-hand side one has a wood veneer camera with yellow enamel dot, plus a crown and a star.

The right -hand cluster has a flair, a crown, a star and a smaller item.

3 layouts today.

 Today I've made 3 layouts.

My first is for The Scraproom group and we had to use the letters HOT

I used Hexagons, organdie ribbon and thread.

                                                             ************************

My next is for a sketch challenge at Soul Scrappers

*******************

and the third is for White with One.

The extra colour is Slate grey

I was inspired by the slate tiles and remembered I had this photo of the tiled floor at the Moulin Rouge.

I used chevron tape to reflect the herringbone pattern. The shoes were another link to my daughters feet.

August Counterfeit Kit.

This is the August kit which is Sweet Shoppe A bee-utiful day.
 https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/product.php?productid=48763&cat=&page=1

After looking at all that I've come up with my kit:

                                                      Just BEE-cause.

Here are my papers

I used yellows and blacks as my main input, but then added an orange chevron and a wood texture in very dark grey. I also added some 8x11 yellow cardboard pieces.
Being winter here, I'm happy to work with brighter yellows. It's such a happy colour.

My embellishments

I found the bee stamp so used it on the journal cards.(More about on FOTF)
I also added other cards, ribbons, pompoms, embroidery cotton, flairs and flowers.
I put words there but might use alphas as needed.

A big welcome to Sara Rouault our guest designer for this month.

I live in Newbury, Berkshire UK. I’m a PA to the Directors at a Building Society. I have two grown up children and one granddaughter Daisy who is 6. I’m a widow of 19 years so I know to make the most of every day - we’re only here for a visit.

As a child I kept Newspaper cuttings of the Royal Family in a scrapbook and I started to scrapbook my photos about 11 years ago but stopped due to life events, however I really got back into it during 2020 - COVID and lockdown! I have followed Counterfeit Kit Challenge on the blog for years but only a few months ago joined the Facebook group and got stuck into creating kits from the inspiration each month. I have hundreds of photos still to scrap from many many years of snapping away and I like to use a defined kit for each event, occasion or holiday so CKC is great to help me focus on pulling different collections from my stash together to use this way for each project.  I love all the ideas each month and the support and comments posted in the group is so encouraging - everyone is so lovely.
