Pile it on challenge-Metal

After tidying my desk I discovered lots of left over things ("bitzashits" a fellow scrapbooker calls them.)
I noticed the metal challenge on Pile it on So made this card

They are all left over bits from my Counterfeit Kit.
Firstly, the metal is foil punched with holes that runs across behind the blue cardstock.
The pink lolly brads are also metal.
The ribbon slopes up slightly to balance the slope on the cardstock bearing the sentiment.
I'm also entering this in 613 Avenue Create (metal)
Craft hoarders challenge (metal or glass)
Our creative corner (leftovers)-After typing this I just realised the challenge has closed!...oh well :(

One for the boys at Ruby's rainbow.

Last night I tidied my scrap area.
This meant I discovered long forgotten items including this tag.
I mounted it on to co-ordinating paper and voila! A card for Ruby's rainbow.

Male cards always sell well and I'm sure this will be no exception.

Here is a photo of my neat scrap area...it doesn't happen very often.

Mojo Monday #347

I started with a chipboard piece named tribal which I misted with sugar maple.
The design called for a male card or at least nothing too flowery.
Next, I put a strip of brown card with flesh coloured washi tape along it.
The wood veneer saying always and forever seemed to match the design and I added a turquoise butterfly for contrast.
Blogger has put the sketch at the bottom and won't let me rearrange the page....sorry it is back to front!

His and Hers cards at Scrap Africa

Over at Scrap Africa there is a card challenge for matching his and hers cards.

Here is my take on the challenge

I started with 2 cards made from Kraft cardstock.
I inked through masks, cogs for the man and a lacy doiley for the female.
Next I put a strip of ribbon along the bottom third plus a Graphic 45 lettered strip on both.
I used number 60 on both and outlined around them.
Using more Graphic 45 stickers, I've put a lock & key on the male card plus the word vintage.
I put a woman's face plus the word unique. Photo corners were added to both cards.
As I turn 60 this year, there are lots of friends turning 60 as well, so these will be used for sure.

Stuck on U sketches

This has been an interesting sketch to work with and allowed me to use more scraps I have.

On my layout I've put a Memory Maze chipboard oval frame around the title. I misted it in green to match the misting on the page.
I've also used a Heidi Swapp pennant I had, a strip of fibre, some Dusty Attic flowers and 3 tags from my stash.

About 4 posts ago, I used another photo of the kangaroos at Shoal bay golf club.
They hop around the course, especially at sunset.
I walked down to get a closer view of them and this big grey was sitting in the bunker looking very threatening. He was obviously the "watch roo". I didn't get too close in case it kicked me.

Now over to USE YOUR STUFF where the challenge is bling

I've had this butterfly picture for quite a while knowing it would come in handy sooner or later.
I've added 4 Bella bling smaller butterflies to create this card.

I'm also entering it in Cards in Envy, where the criteria is wings.

Flourish with a bling

There is a picture stimulus at Flourish with a Bling this month.
May-Challenge

I took the idea of flowers plus the main 2 colours of lime and a tawny apricot/peach colour.
On my layout I have used FWAB Elise silver Rhinestone.
I started with embossed cardstock
Over that I inked with an apricot colour
This was too bright so I painted over it with white acrylic paint to tone it down
Next I glued muslin scrunched along the layout with scattered flowers and a soft bow of floral ribbon.
I added the FWAB and my layout is done.
I used part of the quote and will finish my private journaling later.

Scrapping 4fun winners challenge.

Here is the sketch that we are asked to use for Scrapping4fun winners challenge.
I've decided to do a layout rather than a card.
The photo is of my cousin and her husband when they were living in the UK.
They looked so young.
Because the patterned paper was quite busy, I kept my embellishments plain.
Please vote for me and join in the the fun there too.

Scrapping4fun challenges- Tecniques

Over at Scrapping 4 fun challenges there is a technique challenge.
We are asked to explain our technique.
At the end of every month, I try to finish off the alphas from my Counterfeit Kit.
In this case, there were only about 4 letters left.
So I stuck the adhesive sheet on to cardstock and painted over it.
This acted as a mask, leaving an alphabet pattern behind.
The stick on letters stuck so I left them there.

Next, I used a tone of the same colour (green) and made words from a smaller alpha set.
I used these on my layout as well.

I've added other embellishments and there you have it.

Picture and scrap, a shabby chic card.

I've gone so far out of my comfort zone with this card that I might just be in a neighbouring country ,like New Zealand!!
I've made this card for http://pictureandscrap.blogspot.com.au/ where the criteria is Shabby Chic

Earlier in the week I saw a challenge site asking for balloons and flowers but can't locate it now.
(I must write these things down)

Papertake weekly card challenge

The theme is Oh so cute! at http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com.au/

I've used the remaining card horizontally and made a small child's card.
I've used a bunny and tag from a Kaisercraft farm set plus a sticker saying "cutie pie" from Echo Park

Freshly Made sketches 137

Here is the sketch from http://www.freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com.au/

I have been running short of men's cards recently so here is one for the bundle.

And while I was there I also made this one using some chipboard alphas that were left over.

Counterfeit Kit May layouts

Over at Counterfeit Kits we use our made up kit to create layouts and cards.

I've finished my May kit early so spread them out ready to file them away.
I don't normally do this,
but I took a photo this month of the 18 layouts spread across my double bed.
YES, it has been a productive month!
And it is only the 22nd here today.

Sketch'n'scrap card challenge

I'm doing my best to keep up with Sketch 'n' scrap's birthday month challenges .I'm having fun!!

This card challenge started with this sketch.
http://sketchnscrap.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/card-sketch-26.html
And here is my take on it.
I've used Kikki K 6x6 patterned papers with a matching birthday cup cake.
I've added ribbon and a rub-on.

Our beautiful world

I've missed a couple of weeks on Our Beautiful world because of life getting in the way.

This weeks word is bath
Here is a bath in BATH.

Glitter and bling at sketch'n'scrap

My  entry for Kerry's glitter challenge isn't brilliant but t least I tried.
Here is the link to Kerry http://scrapbooking-fortheloveofpaper.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/champagne-time.html

I drew a star shape using roll on glue stick then sprinkled glitter over it.
I adhered the chipboard word STAR over the star in glitter.
I've finished it off with some sequins from my Counterfeit kit.

Number challenge at sketch n'scrap

I used to be on the Design Team for Child's play challenges
The challenge was for  BINGO.
I went with the numbers being called, as I couldn't find Bingo cards anywhere.
My layout features lots of random numbers across the page, plus a photo of a store promotion for Target that we came across before Christmas.
The target symbolises the winning number in bingo.
I've also used a transparency pocket featuring bingo cards.
Here's my layout

The original challenge for sketch 'n' scrap is on Tamika's blog http://phillyscraps.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/1-2-3-birthday-bash-challenge.html

Use your stuff #136

Three is the required number at USE YOUR STUFF

I've made a card using 3 strips of washi tape, 3 red star brads and 3 words in the sentiment.

Sketch 'n'scrap confetti challenge

Kelly's challenge here http://creatingwithpaperandmore.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/party-poppers-birthday-bash-challenge.html is to use confetti on your page.

I've used the very last of my Counterfeit Kit here.
My confetti is sequins I've glued randomly on the corners.

Sketch'n'scrap P/L card challenge

I had a few cards left from a Project life sheet I used for an earlier Counterfeit Kit.
I've used 3 of them plus a journaling block and Bo Bunny chipboard ice cream on this layout.

Without a long rambling story....... I enjoyed a coffee and sat at the lookout contemplating my future after my parent's house was sold. As you can see the view was spectacular!

Sketch 'n'scrap decorative bow

Solange's challenge is to use a decorative bow on your project.

I've made a card featuring a lime green striped bow and the sentiment, "Made with love".

It is one of my bridesmaid's birthday today. She loves green.

Case this sketch and Shopping out stash

Two cards today using the same background paper from 7Gypsies.
I love the soft apricots on this.

The first is for Case this sketch

and here it is, I've used some bling plus Scrapmatts flowers misted in Sugar Maple.

Next is Shopping our stash where our project needed to be based on a song.
My card is Little Baby from "Clawhammer".
It was released as a charity song to prevent child abuse.
I've used a vintage picture plus a tab from a chipboard pack and American Crafts music ribbon.

Animals #79 at Ruby's rainbow

The challenge at Ruby's Rainbow is animals.

I misted through the same alpha negative that I used on the last layout.
My background card was plain white.
Next I used a bottle cap dipped in red paint to put patterns on the chipboard shape.
I mounted that on black paper, for contrast.
I had 2 rhinoceroses from a DCWV pack named "Animal crackers"

Erica's Boys at Sketch and scrap

Here is another sketch at Sketch and scrap.
It was Kelly's turn. http://creatingwithpaperandmore.blogspot.com.au/

And here is my take on it.
I chose to mist through the negative of a Jillybean soup alpha set I have just finished with and thought added triangles would make it too busy.
I was able to use lots of cut off strips plus some embellishments from last month's Counterfeit kits that I had remaining.

Mojo monday #345

Mojo Monday #345 has this sketch
and here is my interpretation of it.
I've used both sides of this patterned paper on my card plus some punched flowers and tiny Prima flowers as centres.

A Prima Dilemma and Challenge #2 at Counterfeit Kits.

Pull up a chair and a cuppa, this is a long post

I want to use my favourite paper in this month's kit

Prima Rondelle collection 'Quadrille".
It brings to mind Scarlett O'Hara and "Gone with the wind", my favourite movie!

So, I'm thinking vintage or shabby chic for this one...first some research....
LB1_4155
Someone else's layout....NOT MINE!
CHA - Rondelle - Brit
Still some else's layout, but less flowers!

Prima kindly suggest a colour palette in their flowers
562403

Now to see what is in my kit that tones with all this............

I'd love to use all those laces up plus the tiny manilla envelopes I found in Dad's bowls bag of all places. And what's that in the top left hand corner?    Yes it is FLOWERS!!! and PRIMA ones at that.

First I made a flower from the vintage lace
Then I began layering:- photo, vellum, bookpaper, lace doileys, the 3 small envelopes, the white mesh.
After adhering it in place, I used the banner at the top and stitched the vintage sequin strip along the bottom.
I put an organza bow around the top of the photo mat.
I then stitched on the lace flower.
I added my title and journaling tag.
Lastly, I glued small Prima flowers in appropriate parts of the layout.

For the challenge of safety in numbers I will nominate the flowers, but it could also be the laces.

Hillary's card challenge for Sketch n scrap

I'm still completing sketch n scrap's challenges.
This one is to make a card or layout using either of these sketches with a birthday theme.

I've opted for the card since I sell them for charity.
I've used items from my Counterfeit Kit.
Here is the card,
As you can see I've used a border pattern for one of my strips going down and I've added a lolly brad instead of a flower. (You know me and flowers!)
I've also glued on some bling.
Interested?! Hop over to Hillary to read the details.
