Scrap that song

This is my D.T. layout for January on Scrap that song.I've used a range of papers by My Minds eye called "Quite Contrary" plus flowers from Scrap'n'bits and the rose from Lincraft. The chipboard is Collections elements which I've inked using my old friend, Mr Pinecone!I loved this range of papers and ephemera to match.
Why not check out the blog from tomorrow where you can scrap any Nursery Rhyme. Here is the link http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com/

Get picky with shoes

I made this layout using a strip of photos of my daughter's favourite shoes. They are black suede with diamentes on them.I used Scrapmatts chipboard shoes plus "Red hot sparkles" by papermania. These were glued over the red paint.Always think red/white and navy makes a good colour combo.

Show us your stuff (2)

The second challenge for Show us your stuff was blue and white with a touch of red. These 4 photos of famous pubs in Edinburgh fitted the criteria nicely.I've used a floral paper plus white mat.The lettering is Ruby Rocket. I've added just a thin strip of red ribbon plus 2 triangular buttons and a journalling block from Martha Stewart.

White with one

My entry for white with one this month features the Christmas papers range from Kaisercraft called December 25th and Be Merry.I misted lightly down the sides with English Ivy.I cut scalloped edge using a row from Glee then added a mat featuring Joy and Chirpy. The yellow flower row plus heralding angels are stickers.I finished it off with a journalling tag from December 25th. Beth is one of the entertainment ladies at our local nursing home. She is heaps of fun providing laughs for the residents.

Show us your stuff...first sketch.

During our trip around Tasmania a few years ago we visited Hobart town at Richmond. It has miniature buildings. On this layout I've used Papers by Mustard moon,Hot off the Press and Karen Foster as well as lettering called Lullaby from American crafts. The embroidered badges are from Kaisercraft's Dear Santa collection and even though this layout isn't cHristmas, the green and tan match.I finished with 3 salmon pink buttons which match both background papers.Hope you like it!

Carol Singing at Kraft it up

I started by using Candy Apple red mist over a Scrapmatts tree 3 times on the left hand side.To these I added green rhinestones.I then matted my photo using 2 different papers plus sheet music.I've added a strip of holly plus scrapmatts holly chipboard on the corners and the original misted tree to the right hand corner.

Venice Peachy at A2Z scraplets

I used A2z scraplets star banner .First I painted it with peach paint, then I ran it through "Swiss Dots" on the cuttlebug. Then I wiped it over with black paint, immediately removing most of it. This left a 2-toned effect. It became the strip across the middle of this layout.I chose 3 photos of Venice,2 of which feature the peach coloured buildings seen so commonly there.I matted using spotted papers that co-ordinated.Later afdding 2 strips of edging and flowers plus Francheville "Passionate" brads.

Ausssie scrapjacked

During our visit to Rhodes we went to a high hill where there was an old monastery. As I am scared of heights I wasn't keen to climb these stairs as there are no rails.
I've chosen Bec's layout to copy this month. The flags are edged in black as the background paper is white. The calico fabric contains the word souls, which was appropriate!I folded the yellow paper then pleated it horizontally. It was difficult to tell if Bec used fabric or paper there. This particular Thickers are stretchy and difficult to place nicely, especially the M's.

Artastic and FS2S

The criteria for Artastic this month was a snowman,a cHristmas tree and the word cHristmas. I made my snowman from 2 lace doileys cutting out the centre of the second one for the head. His nose is one V of ricrac. The remainder of the embellishments are from kaisercraft. This was Christmas 2005 when we went to a restaurant for Christmas lunch.

The criteria for From Screen to scrap was white cardstock,a 2 colour title and Christmas hats.
My photo was taken on the same day as the first layout featuring my nephew Nathan with his new baby daughter, Annabelle. Both he and Jonathan are wearing Christmas hats. The journalling is inside the fancy envelope at the bottom.

Lollipop ladies

I made this lacy card using 2 segments of lace with ricrac edging. They were cut from an old sleeve. This gives the tree a padded look.
I then used gold star brads to attach scrapmatts chipboard decorations and the word "timeless" to finish off the card.

Gummy smiles at scrap the girls

These photos are from Erica at about 3 months.I loved that gummy smile! I've used chipboard letters painted pink and trimmed with tiny flowers and a rub on to make the brown swirl in the top right corner plus 2 kaisercraft papers and a sunflower. The original sketch was from pagemaps I think.

December stuck?! sketch at Bicheno blowhole

I was subtle with the banner effect choosing to use green embroidery cotton for the trails with stars as my highlights.I've also misted to the edges of the pictures to resemble water spray from the blowhole.
We visited this about 10 years ago on a car trip around Tasmania.

December 1 2 3 layout

The layout for December features the word "make", the colour Marigold and something you made yourself. With this layout I used Marigold spotted paper, plus cream paper I put through the cuttlebug then inked lightly with orange to make patterns and the title is Making a melody.(Hope making is close enough to make). Melody is the baby's name in the photo. The lacy trim was cut from a dress found at the op shop.

Scrapmatts 12 days of Christmas challenge

Scrapmatts is having a "12 days of Christmas challenge". We would like you to join in!Choose one of the 12 days as in the song and scrap that. You can interpret it however you like so long as you use scrapmatts chipboard.
As part of their design team I chose to do 5 gold rings.I photographed 5 of the family rings then wound ribbon around scrapmatts circles. After arranging these on the page I tied 2 together with a soft ribbon bow.

1 2 3 challenge

The challenge for November on 123 was to use the word please, grey and stamping with /on something different.
I printed the lines down the sides of this layout using the prongs of a plastic fork dipped in pink paint. It is quite effective don't you think?
There are several different grey papers which I layered under the photo. The cat was at Rhodes Greece when we were on holiday. It was sitting under a cafe table and gazing up asking to be fed.The pink shells are from scrapmatts
