Pink's my favourite colour

This was my dd chant from when she could talk to about age 11.She was a pink-aholic. I used 2 hand made flowers plus a marbled speciality paper. The basic grey letters I painted over to stand out.

Colour room with Skippy

My entry for this week's colour room is a flashback to my childhood...in the 1960s.The biggest show on TV for kids to watch was Skippy .Dad took us to Waratah Park to visit Skippy and the other native animals.

I've used an alpha set that I won at a retreat plus a scrapmatts door. The brown background was lightly misted with candy apple by tattered angels then put through the cuttlebug for texture.I've cut DCMV paper to form a rustic frame around the photo. The pale pink spotted paper is 3 bugs in a rug and the bright pink is a textured paper. I dyed the old doiley offcut overnight with some red fabric to achieve the pale pink colouring. My flower is velvety.

Tara and mosaics

I've been mucking about with scraps of paper resulting in a mosaic page.I used green square letters as my title then punched butterflies a ribbon rosette and celtic chipboard(Twiddlybits) as it went with the theme. That tiny speck on the hill is me!

Aussie scrapjacked of Julie's layout.

At the recent SFS retreat Peta's daughter offered hand massages to help raise money for Red nose day.It was very relaxing to soothe your hands just before bed after a long day of scrapping.

I chose apricot shades to match the hands on this layout and neutral coloured crochet flowers.I finished it with a felt branch.

A2z entry at Arthur's seat Edinburgh

This layout began with me misting over outlines from lettering along the top and bottom of the card.I then used A2Z's Cherish word plus some BG paper and punched butterflies. The mini letters in orange added to the journalling and hey presto it was done!

Black with two and Annabelle drawing

Here's my entry for Black with 2 for the second half of JUly. It was black with pink and pearls.I've folded a flower into a fan and added a button, another flower is chipboard inked black with pearls in the centre and on the tips of the petals, the third is a silk flower with a pearl centre. The trim underneath the photo is punched border.

I won, I won

Scroll back 4 posts and you will see my entry for black with 2. My layout won the prize. I'm doing a happy dance here.

Scrap that song,my newest DT.

Here's my layout for challenge No 1 on http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com where I've been chosen for the DEsign Team starting July.
It is based on Shannon Noll's song "Shine". I used lots of leftovers on this. The black grid is from the mini lettering after using the letters, the buttons are from an old dressing gown, the chipboard tree was using up left over paint and the photos are offcuts too.It traces Eica from ages 17 to 21-a time of blossoming into adulthood.

4 Layouts from Florence.

THe "Duomo viewing" I've made for inspired blueprints but I'm unable to upload on there thanks to blogger being a pain in the trousers!

Ah Tuscany,so beautiful features a scrapmatts heart frame.

Artist is using Bella Amore-Stuck on you paper and I've added fleur de lis chipboard painted white then stamped, plus an old lace doiley. This was a street artist we saw in the Uffiso.

Secure is using scraps of cardstock and patterned paper placed at angles to provide the background. I've stamped the pale blue card withKaisercraft "Le chateau" stamps then added a chipboard key using distress ink 'black soot".
They are all photos I took in Florence.

Stuck?! sketches july 2nd challenge

As soon as I saw the new sketch on Stuck?! sketches I was inspired to do this layout.I've had the flower transparency for quite a while and knew it would suit this.I had fun with various ppunches creating the butterflies and flowers from co-ordinating scraps. The photo was taken of Erica as we approached Capri..aaah the memories this evokes.

Black with 2 in Paris.

We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw this car parked sideways and it was there all day!

"How to Park in Paris" was made using two papers from DCWV from Big W.I've also added an altered card I received in a swap about 4 years ago from Rebecca on ascrappersgarden.blogspot.au .As well, the scrapmatts corset went with Paris and the word squeez shows my wacky sense of humour. It doesn't show up very well but the striped ribbon was pleated first.

1 2 3 challenge and naples

1 2 3 challenge this month had to have teal colouring, the word thing and a picture.I used the technique they demonstrated by applying gesso then torn paper and tissue to create a texture(This became my cloud). Then I used bubblewrap dipped in coloured gesso to print the ocean on the bottom half. The castle (Castle Nuovo) I cut out and matched the water levels of the sea in the 2 pictures.Hopefully,it looks like we are gazing over the chipboard wall at the viewer.I added some doodled fish as a final touch.

Sprayed lace at From screen 2 scrap

For the background I placed triangles of lace fabric on the yellow cardstock then sprayed with blue glimmer mist.I then sewed paui shell glittery buttons along the line to accentuate the join.I've matted the old photo on matching blue glittery paper.I've added a yellow heart and 4 colourful arrows from the journalling to the photo.I'm turned away from the camera so you can only see half my face.
This deer was so cautious it took me a long while to convince it to eat from my hand, but my patience paid off. They're gorgeous animals!

One just for scrapmatts

This was my great grandmother who I knew until I was 8 as Louisa was 96 when she died.I used scrapmatts floral branch and the word life on this layout as well as the Belle Fleur carnations that I won on Artastic last month...they're gorgeous.I had great fun creating this and moving around the layers until it looked just right.

Getting creative at Artastic

Here's my entry for this month's Artastic challenge.I was inspired by one of the sayings on the Cosmo cricket matting paper. It became my title. The challenge required a black and white photo but I considered this one fairly neutral, plus I saw that some of the design team have used coloured photos.I've stippled the zigzag trims at the side of the mat with red paint and used glimmer mist on the canvas flowers. The twiddlybits chipboard has been painted with gesso to give an uneven finish and the hat and gloves were hand drawn. The crochet circles were also made by me.This layout has taken a bit of time but it is worth it I think.

A win on FS2S

Just looked at From Screen to SCrap and saw I've won another random prize draw for my entry "Up Up and Away" featuring the London Eye.I've won these jumbo Zig markers!

Thank you to Shazza and her team once again.

White with one.

White with one this month is white with teal/aqua and chipboard.
I chose this close up of a family of swans at floriade and misted a floral chipboard edging to go along the bottom .It looks like we are peeping through the flowers at them.

kraft it up and cupcakes

Kraft it up this month features a picture to inspire. THe layout used flowers similar to those in the picture ,plus I've used the colours pink/white and turquoise to reflect the theme.I mounted my photo on a circle as are the cupcakes on a circular plate. I misted a scrapmatts branch.i trimmed with ribbon to reflect the ribbon in the picture too.

Stuck?! sketch in A4 size

I must have been channelling Stuck sketches when I made this a4 layout at the retreat last weekend. It fits the sketch beautifully.

I called it 'My man in uniform" and it brings back a happy memory of the lolly shop at Darling Harbour.
