House book by scrapmatts

Scrapmatts make a chipboard house mini album. All the pieces come as a kit then you assemble them. Here's my front cover.I used my long forgotten gel pens for the plants and brickwork on the chimney. The paper on the bottom story is 7 gypsies(my favourite) and the top layer paper is DCMV.I used Making memories silver gleam paint on the guttering and gable windows.

Check out my embroidered singlets

I'm doing a tiny tots market this Sunday so thought I would embroider some singlets for babies. Here is the fruit of my labours!

I've done chickens,abc blocks,butterflies and lazydaisy flowers.

If they don't sell I'm donating them to a mission in africa where I'm sure they will be useful.

Just for fun!

This photo was so strange it warranted a layout.I used scrapmatts corset and cogs which I used as templates for masking.I stitched the felt edging down the left hand side using my sewing machine. The game pieces are from "What is old is new again".

Blind scrap at Purplescraps

I'm hosting a blind scrapping challenge at purplescraps over Easter. The instructions are already there and you have until THursday 28th at midnight Sydney time to submit.
So HOP TO IT!

A garden at Black with 2.

My entry for Black with 2 features hand pleated and stitched daisy fabric plus a hand made white lace flower. The button in the centre is a daffodil to match those in the photo. The patterned paper is also daisies to match the fabric.I painted the lettering black as it was originally red and stamped on to the white cardstock using a flower stamp. This whole layout is very reminiscent of Easter time to me.

In bloom at the colour room

This layout is for The colour room where the colours are gold, cream, pink and maroon. This Jillybean soup paper suited it perfectly and the Francheville transparencies were ideal for framing these photos from Floriade.

A queue of Qs at A2z

When looking out photos of Disneyland I found 2 of the queues we were waiting in.I then had a brainwave to use up all the left over alphas to make the circle for A2Z's challenge this month. The chipboard saying a moment in time is A2Z of course. Enjoy the QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ!

Aussie scrapjacked part 2

Here's my second layout for Aussie scrapjacked this month. This time it is based on that done by Mel.I've used lots of different flowers as trims on this.I'm just hoping it doesn't look like Friends for 2011 years!

A win on lollipop ladies

My layout using colours found in a candy necklace won a beautiful stamp set from Annabelle stamps. It was chosen from nearly 30 entries so I'm suitably chuffed! I logged on there to see what the new challenge is (macroons and gloss )when I discovered the exciting news.

Let's get shabby entry

Here's my entry for this month's "let's get shabby" where the theme was Beatrix Potter. I'm lucky enough to own the 4 pigs from Beswick so used them as my subject matter.

Edwardian lady

My grandmother around her 21st birthday. She was half Italian. I wanted to capture the times with this layout so I used antique lace from the era(I even left the tag on it) plus the clock and the corset.I mainly stuck with black and white with just small hints of colour in various embellishments.I've used scrapmatts chipboard again including the corset which i covered with black lace then added pearls to decorate it.The font is called "Art Nouveau" and is hand done.

Kraft it up at the beach

I've been looking at these 2 photos featuring Mum at the beach, plus the Graphic45 paper on the boardwalk for a while now. This challenge at Kraft it up gave me the inspiration.I trimmed the 2 photos used a similar picture from On the boardwalk plus 2 other gRaphic 45 papers and a strip of tape measure from a 4th pattern paper. The chipboard words and starfish plus the frame are from scrapmatts. The 2 little beach cards and the word "hot!" is october afternoon. The weave extra black and white words provide the third alphas.

White with one and my uncle's first car.

This layout is for White with one where the criteria is olive green and twine. Luckily I had some scraps of olive paper featuring old stamps and matching page torn from an encyclopedia also featuring stamps.I used Junkitz buttons and a brad from kaisercraft to complete the layout. My father used to describe Uncle Roy's car as a "Rolls canhardly". This photo was around 1942

Aussie scrapjacked- Vicki

On Aussie Scrapjacked this month I noticed Vicki Urqhardt's layout and have Scrapjacked that. Here's my take on it.I used an old holiday photo of my parents,a transparency which I cut in half,a page from an old annual,Jenni Bowlin scalloped notecard,October afternoon lettering plus a metallic lighthouse I've had for years.

Stuck with a brave kid.

My entry for Stuck sketches is more about the journalling.I purposely did the strips underneath the photos crooked and tried to balance that with the sloped floral paper, not sure if that effect worked.

Feedback is nice.

I've had generous positive feedback from the 2 sites i've loaded this layout on to.It is nice to know that people appreciate what you work hard on.

Sometimes it just works!

This week's inspired colours for the colour room are rose pink, cream, dusty brown and pale green.I found these great close ups of rainbow lorikeets in my tree.I used scrapmatts chipboard ornate frame 01 (CB5001) and flourish 03(cb5057) as well as several flowers including some from Hero arts and a dotted flourish transparency that someone sent me.The whole thing came together nicely. I'll definitely remember this sketch.
