Thank you Erica!

Thank you Erica for fixing both my blog and my facebook picture. It is wonderful to have such a handy daughter.
I'm not technically minded and have been looking at my google picture thinking everyone will think i'm a boozer.Seriously,it was only 1 goldfish bowl at the Purplescaps retreat.I found out later it had tequila in it!!!(my first taste of the lethal mexican brew.) It is months since I have had any alcohol. This new picture just shows my triple chin and wrinkles.HaHa.

Talk like a pirate day is an annual event held at my daughter's uni .They get dressed up and walk around "talking like a pirate" and basically have a lot of laughs. Here's her housemates, with her, ready to go. The chipboards were specially made then inked. This was a fun layout to do.This is my entry for From screen to scrap for this month.

Artastic has a bath painting to work from. Here's my take on it.
Warren was bathing Erica when she was around 3 weeks old.I caught this adoring look on his face.A precious moment betweeen father and daughter.I used Bella Sarah Jane papers and some antique lace.

Erica meets a horseguard

This month's challenge for Enchanted scrapbooking was to cut a photo in half and split it.Looking through my people photos most of them had overlapping arms etc but I had this one of Erica and a horseguard. I had watched an ABC show about them so wanted a photo.

ME:" Stand next to him and I'll take your photo"HER: No.ME: "go on" ,so she stood near but not next to.This worked out ideal for this challenge. I'm loving the red/grey/black combo.

Capri

This mural photo reminded me of our day in Capri. We had no money and couldn't find an atm that would accept my visa card.It is one of the richest economies in the world with millionaires to spare!I decided to go with the whole money theme on my layout.I love the colours in this one.
This is this months entry for crafty Sketches

magpie kisses

I went all colonial and country-like with this layout. This photo is of 2 magpies sitting on a gate near my daughter's house. Here I explained an old poem our family always says to count the kisses someone puts on a greeting card.On further research I discovered it is an old Irish poem used to count magpies.

I left the corrugated cardboard half uncovered to get the rustic look, then inked the background paper, the card, the fence and the bird. This will go to the site called Stuck?! sketches.
