Challenge #3 and Case this sketch

Another month has nearly finished and because of my holiday I didn't use up my Counterfeit Kit.
Instead of keeping it intact I've decided to return it to stock.
Here's the leftover papers

Before breaking up my kit, I've made a card for challenge #3 FRIENDS
I've used 2 smaller pieces of paper, a chippy cotton winder and some scraps of tape measure and lace.

Next is my entry for Case this sketch #138

and again using up kit items I made this

Let's capture our memories

Over at Let's capture our memories I found this sketch

It appealed to me as I still have items left in my Counterfeit Kit
I started with some large punched stars as my background. There were just enough.
Next I mounted my photo on cork cardstock
After using strips of washi tape plus more of the old tape measure,I sewed several buttons randomly on the layout.
My title is because I know nothing about who this is.
It was an old postcard my great aunt owned.

ABC Christmas and Christmas card challenges.

At ABC CHRISTMAS challenge it is polkadots.
I've made a card with normal Christmassy paper then added a polkadot strip down the middle and 2 small heart shaped die cuts also featuring polkadots. It is straight in real life (my scanner strikes again!) It is on the right.

And at CHRISTMAS CARD CHALLENGES it is anything goes.
I like those challenges as it enables you to use up smaller items.
My card features 2 strips of ribbon, a bird out of a cage singing (we can pretend it is a robin) and a blackboard die cut saying celebrate. It is on the left.

Here are the 2 cards

Shopping our stash #214

The challenge at Shopping our stash is spectacles.
I had no stamps, die cuts or paper with glasses on them, but I do have ribbon in this month's kit.

I've used 2 strips across the card plus my sentiment which says when you look at me my heart stops
The spotted strip plus the grey background are also from my kit.

Gift wrap counterfeit. Challenge #2

This is the gift wrap I've decided to Counterfeit or be inspired by.

For my work I'm using several items. Two different masks, inks, inca gold silver and mist.
I'm not sure what will work best.

I inked in diagonal strips through the Jennifer Grace Happy Scatters raindrops mask.

The meeting point of the 4 6x6 mistings will be covered up on the layout.

Then I drew circles using a gel pen and the inside of my tape roll
White didn't show up so I used blue.

There is much more silver on the gift wrap and in hindsight I could have used silver cardstock or vellum, however I liked the result.

And here is the finished product
I used felt clouds and Bella droplets from my Counterfeit Kit to add to the rainy effect.

I'm entering this on Try it on Tuesday where the challenge is to use stencils.

Try it on Tuesday

Over at Try it on Tuesday we were asked to use stencils.
I've used 2 on this card.
First a prima stencil; using small dots in a flower pattern.(I misted through that one)
Next a clock face from WOW, which I used gesso through.
Over this I inked using a bright crimson, then sanded over the clock face to rediscover the white gesso.
I added a canvas relief which I also misted and lastly my sentiment.

Cardabilities #128

At Cardabilities we have this sketch challenge

Using items from my Counterfeit Kit, I misted turquoise through a Prima mask over October Afternoon paper.
Next I misted a canvas relief corner shape.
I adhered flowers around this and added my sentiment which is "Remember today".
I left the sentiment white so that it stands out.
This card will be for a friend whose birthday is soon.

Challenge YOUrself

"Keep calm and ..........." is the theme for this month at Challenge Yourself.
I've said keep calm and stay on track and have used 2 photos of me walking on a railway line.
I've used my Counterfeit Kit on this layout, totally.

I started with a navy "Lime Rickey" paper from BG.
My mat was from Find your wings and fly by MME. It already has extra pictures along the side.

Next I added 2 lots of washi tape plus a Flourish with a bling swirl flourish.
I cut a small piece of old tape measure and used the cork-look packaging from the Fancy Pants tags.
I added some Bella enamel dots and triangles, plus stickers from Fancy Pants as well.
I added my title and here you have it!

Avenue 613 and Time out challenges.

The challenge at Avenue 613 is to use black and white and one other colour.
I chose gold/yellow.
Here is my card, designed to give to either a male or female friend.

When I looked at the entry area I thought I was on the wrong challenge as there are many cards there with bright colours.I hope I've uploaded it on the correct challenge.

I'm also entering it on Time out challenges where the challenge is Friendship is Golden.
How appropriate that I chose a golden yellow!

Sketch & scrap card

If you haven't already gathered, I'm on a card making spree.
I had a sheet of patterned paper left over from last month's Counterfeit Kit and brown cardstock I want to use up.
This sketch from Sketch'n'scrap appealed to me.

and while I was there I made 2 smaller cards from the same paper

In all 3 cases I used embellishments from this month's counterfeit kit.
That's 4 cards from one sheet of brown cardstock(includes "I have issues"=last card) and one sheet of patterned paper.

Shopping our stash

At Shopping our stash they have asked for something Snarky.
The only thing I could find was a Project Life card saying "I have issues".
Apart from giving it to a very good friend or a nutty relative, I guess you could use it for a belated birthday or a sorry card.
I've used a brown and pink combo on this card.

Case this sketch

At Case this sketch the design is this

I felt like doing a Christmas card and here it is!
There's 2 different ribbons on this plus some machine sewing on the side.

Seize the Birthday

At Seize the Birthday the challenge is to use embossing.

Out came the cuttlebug!

I've used some grey paper that didn't particularly grab me, but with the spotted embossing it takes on a new dimension.
I've teamed it with a tag I had and a folded flower I made using scraps of patterned paper. The mini alphas are also from my Counterfeit Kit.
Grey and pale pink go well together I think.
Here it is

Scrapki-wyzwaniowo

I've found a new challenge website Scrapki-wyzwaniowo.
The August challenge there is to use letters and numbers.

I was inspired to use some papers from my Counterfeit kit.
October Afternoon -Fly a kite dandelions had little alphabets and numbers on the other side so it became my background.
October Afternoon-Fly a kite Sprinklers has tickets and random numbers so it became my mat.
Crate Paper had another sheet with tickets, labels etc so I used that.

My Minds Eye -Find your wings and fly had an assortment of tickets, I used several.

I've also inked through a stencil which says "Turn your dreams into reality."
As well as all that I added random tags, cameras, labels, Bella droplets etc etc.
There's even a mini envelope I made from lettered paper.

As per usual, the photo is the main focus of my layout.

City crafter again

While sorting through a drawer for a journaling card, I found this camera.
I'm making a 2nd card for City Crafters
I also found a smaller card saying Friends which matched the background paper.
Both are from Kaisercraft Lulu and Roy collection.

Show us your stuff

This is the inspiration picture this month at Show us your stuff.
I've used a Christmas hessian trim to make my flower.
I cut 3 layers of different sizes then sewed it on to my layout using a button.

Here is my layout also featuring 2 tape measures, red blue & yellow, a daisy pop bubble, more hessian and hand stitching.
I've also used part of the quote.

Let's capture our memories

Here is the sketch at Lets capture our memories.http://letscaptureourmemories.blogspot.ca/

Using my Counterfeit Kit, I've scrapped 3 photos of a wedding that my daughter was bridesmaid at recently.
I used primary colours which helped to bring out the red dresses.
The papers are Bella Kraft, October afternoon and Kaisercraft.
My stitching is purposely haphazard.
My journaling tag is blank as I need to check details with Erica.

Pink Gem challenges

Another card, this time for Pink Gem challenges where they are asking for an animal card.
I've made a Christmas card.
Cute fox eh?

123 challenge

We would love you to join in the challenge at 123 challenges this month.

http://123-challenge-blog.blogspot.com.au/2015/08/123-challenge-august-2015-design-team.html
I chose bright colours for my layout.

Outside the airport was a pretty garden featuring hibiscus and other tropical plants.I wanted to remember it plus also use my boarding pass on the layout.

City Crafter and Cardz4guyz

At City Crafter the challenge is something to do with cameras and at Cardz4guyz they want orange and brown.
I decided to combine the 2 challenges and came up with "Snappy Birthday".
I've made the camera and used washi tape featuring cameras as well.

Mojo Monday and Lil Red wagon

Top Picks Badge!
Firstly I'm pleased to say that I made top 3 on Feeling Sketchy this time.

Now on to Mojo Monday and here is their sketch.

I've also included a shaker box with beads inside for Lil red wagon.
I've used the Echo Park Springtime collection again.

Scrap our stash

At Scrap our stash the current challenge is to use the letters from the word PAPER.
Stash Challenge #29 ~ PAPER

I've started with an October Afternoon paper from my Counterfeit Kit.
Here's the PAPER elements
P=prima flowers
A=antique photo
P=path made from paper
E=edging (border) stickers
R=rhinestones (on the butterflies.)

The larger flowers are from Scrappers Garden and the flair clock is from Funky Flairs. The chipboard gate is Molossi.

Case this sketch.#134

At Case this sketch there is always something inspiring.
This sketch is no exception.
Here in Australia spring is looming, buds are appearing and new leaves are popping out.
That decided me to make a card using the Echo Park Hello Spring range from my Counterfeit Kit.
I've used 3 stickers overlaid to form the corner detail, then a rather large banner for my sentiment.
Quick but colourful!

Scrap around the World

My cousin has asked me to scrap this photo of her grandfather (from the other side of her family).
The photo was taken in 1915 and was in Egypt in front of the Sphynx.
He is the soldier on the left.
This photo is featured in the Ausralian War memorial in Canberra as part of a display about the Egyptian campaign. I took the photo through glass of the original. This means it is very slightly blurry.

Here is the picture for Scrap around the world

I was inspired initially by the sand.
I've also added on the layout a journaling block featuring a bicycle, map paper and the words explore and dream.
The aged colour scheme encouraged me to use neutrals on this as well.

I started with a My Minds Eye paper from my COUNTERFEIT KIT, plus the bicycle journaling block, the balloon, the mini envelope and the 2 tiny postcards by EK Nostalgiques,The attic collection.
Here's a close up of the mini envelope I made with the postcard inside. The other postcard is bottom right tied around with cotton.

I've added 2 arrows, one identifies grandad. I also added a circular sticker to write the date in and a typewriter from the age.
The mosaic pattern at the bottom of this paper also reminded me of Egyptian mosques.
I didn't use mixed media on this as I felt it was busy enough.

Lessology and Sketch'n'scrap.

Here is the sketch for sketch and scrap and at Lessology, the focus is on woodgrain.

I started with a woodgrain paper from my August Counterfeit Kit.
The 2 photos I took near my cousins house on the south Coast of NSW, of a paperbark tree.
For overseas people it is one species of eucalypt.
As a kid I loved pulling the bark off.You can actually write on the "paper" from the tree.

I've layered papers to co-ordinate, plus hessian from a hessian bag.(UPCYCLING).
The grey buttons have been in my family from my Great Grandfather, who was a tailor.(UPCYCLING #2). They were originally trouser buttons.
The wooden embellishments have been inked with pinecone to make them stand out more.
I distressed the edges of the paper to match the bark in the photos.
Even the strip of ribbon across is woodgrain.
The cork journaling pocket is by Fancy Pants.
