A2Z scraplets sketch challenge

The A2Z scraplets sketch features 3 photos, so I've used 3 of Jonathan swimming/diving.As he does gymnastics he has quite a good style of diving.I've used boy colours including some misting over an alpha negative and adding A2Z's barbed wire.A kit from Scrapbooking from Scratch arrived recently containing the Scenic route Cape Town Monograms.I've used the D as the start of my title plus "Good going" as my sub-title.The circular tag is My mind's eye and the rub on is kaisercraft. I've turned the sketch sideways.

Turkish Delight at Lollipop ladies

I've got the scrapping bug tonight so have made this card for Lollipop ladies where the theme is Turkish delight and the extra criteria is squares.I'm giving it to a friend who sews hence the sentiment on the front.

Frizzy Chic using Scrapmatts

I'm not usually one to add clutter to a layout but several things inspired me this week and they all came together on this layout.I bought scrapbooking mEmories and admired the layout on the front cover so much that I decided to do my own interpretation on it.Secondly I was sent some doileys as a prize from a scrapbooking website. Also I was mucking about with old alphas and came up with the title.Fourthly, I needed to do my D.T. layout for Scrapmatts so here it is. The photo is of me aged 12 with our new cat,Linky.I had put his dinner bowl on his head for fun.The same day,my sister thought she would attempt hairdressing, so curled my already wavy hair. This was the result!

Aussiescrapjack of Lisa's layout

Here's my jack of LIsa's beautiful layout. The only musical stamp I had was a Christmas one,so this become a Christmas layout featuring Annabelle in poppet form.I've used 2 antique laces from my stash plus scraps of various pattern papers. The flowers and Scrapmatts decorations used as leaves are the final touch.

It's a double!

Here are the single pages up closer.
It has been years since I've done a double layout. There were so many good photos from the crab races on Cook Island that I decided to do one.I was inspired by an old copy of Creating keepsakes with sketches for double layouts. I put my own take on one but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Stuck sketch May part 2

Here's my effort for Stuck's May 15th sketch. It features a bridge we saw in Ireland, hence the green. It seems every layout I've done of Ireland has green on it somewhere...funny that! I used punched squares of pattern papers plus strips, rub ons to define the journalling and crochet flowers as my embellishments.I've also included a dear little mushroom pin I won recently in a blog giveaway(see close up).The mushroom seemed to suit this layout.

He is my DAd at White with One.

He is my DAd is written in chipboard. The first 3 words are raw Scrapmatts and Dad is Basic Grey.I painted the background using a kaisercraft paint named Barely beige over the negatives from the scrapmatts assorted words. This gave a textured word background.Over that I machine stitched white muslin, then used pattern paper under the photo.Around the layout I've used words relating to Dad/men.The label "Just one of the boys" was white printed so I wiped over a used teabag to achieve cream. There is a little bit of grey on here to match my nephew's shirt.

Colour room reunion

This weeks colour room features lime green, pale blue, red and a soft yellow.I had this Jillybean soup paper so used it plus matching embellishments for the layout. The technique of rolling the paper up from the bottom and ties with strings and buttons was a moment of inspiration, but I think it adds something.I've added a non scrapping item,a lime green watchband, which goes with the papers. The 3 of us all had babies around the same time and this was a get together for us.

Card trio with Kaisercraft and scrapmatts

These 3 cards were all made using Kaisercraft's Konstrukt collection and scrapmatts tools.I'm thinking ahead for Father's day plus some male birthdays coming up. Hope you like them.

123 and Annie

123 this month required orange, bakers twine and the word enjoy. The latter is found in the quote "Enjoy your own life without comparing to that of another" My friend Ann pictured in the photo definitely follows that advice. We recently went to see Annie so I couldn't resist a photo in front of the sign.AS this was taken on my phone it isn't superior quality but it is a happy memory.

circles at Let's get Shabby

This is an 8x8 layout for my Cook Islands album. At the resort where we stayed they had this Spaghetti house.I used repetitive circles, including the centres of the 2 doilies as my geometric theme.I've used unusual colour combination but I think it works!

From screen to scrap goes Japanese.

I've used a mixture of black alphas on this layout as I didn't have enough of any single ones. There is red misting plus a folded japanese paper fan and a couple of other embellishments. The scrapmatts frame was inked with Cyan colour then embossed.

future at Bird is the word

This beautiful Cook Island sunset is a reminder that tomorrow brings another day.Bird is the word asked to use the word "future" and I immediately thought of the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams". I had this quote from Rusty Pickle to use.I punched the border around the photo and used SCrapmatts maple leaf to mist the 2 leaves.I also added another misted chipboard leaf. The cream border under the photo was coloured with a cold teabag.
